    I'm in California & trying to rent a studio that used to be a hotel room. No oven.... Does have mini fridge & microwave. Any ideas on how to get it passable for Section 8?? I'm living in my truck juggling 3 part-time jobs and I'm so extremely tired.... I'm on the extension right now & my voucher is about to expire. Of course my worker never calls me back or returns anything by email. Thanks

    Not all on section 8 trash the place...Its a shame that a few bad apples ruin it gor those who really need apartments,I am a section 8 recepeint because of a disability,bit even i have few disabilities anyone that who has been in my home slways say how nice and clean and cozy i keep it.I dont understand why if this is where you live and lay your heads down there why you thrash it,I get you dont own the place,but as you rent there its your home,So i seen it on both sides of the coins, i have seen people have trashed where they live and i have seen people who are obsessed making sure where they live that you could eat off there floors,but i have seen this with non section 8 people,so what it comes to is the people in general ,some are clean, some are gross, Hopefully all the renters you like to live in clean ccmfotable placr

    This Gentleman did a good inspection and He seems to care. Just My opinion but if I had properties as nice as this I WOULD'T take section 8. The lack of moral character today is the reason why. People are generally ignorant and Don't care about other people's property. Fact from an Experienced Landlord of 10 Years.

    The other apartments I looked at are even worse than mine light over the bathroom sink there wasn't even a mirror and it was HUD inspected and approved and I'm about to call my attorney general cuz I'm not going to put up with people like these when I lived here fifteen years I always paid my rent and look what I got cuz I asked to have the gutters cleaned cuz the front porch is falling off and rotting it's cracking the giant Pole that holds up the front porch from water going under it from not cleaning the gutters for so long you're right they don't care about anything except a scratch on the wall or a leak under your sink they won't even look at the real Plumbing. The way I see it is landlord's getting richer by renting substandard housing and never fixing anything! While HUD is supposed to be quality housing at an affordable price it's not where I live

  • @LetArtsLive
    @LetArtsLive ปีที่แล้ว

    Where I live in Batavia New York they look the other way at HUD they don't really do a real inspection... they give huge tax breaks and if I complain to have the roof fixed I can be homeless now! They can actually give you a month by month lease and throw you out on your ass if they don't like you asking to have things fixed! Or they can do it my landlord did the head of the Republican party in Batavia New York Richard Seibert they can say they're selling the house and there's nothing you can do and that's what just happened to me today. The conversation went I can get more money if I move you out and get somebody else I'm giving you a deal I used to call it a three-bedroom for 8 years now for six years I've been calling it a two-bedroom! If you think people stick up for HUD victims think again! Well they look in your apartment if there's a scratch on the paint or a broken glass it's a big deal but if the roof is leaking it's not if the wiring upstairs is from the 1930s it doesn't matter if the sewer keeps backing up cuz they won't dig a trench to the street cuz it cost $50,000 to bad if there's real mold in the basement too bad. Last time they told them to put a floor in my bathroom because it was from the 1950s and it was all cracked and I said I don't care I'd like a roof that don't leak well finally they patched it not put a roof on like other people have to we don't have the same rights as other people. And now people aren't taking vouchers so I'm about to be homeless with one leg and nobody cares where I live nobody's going to help me move I'm alone and I think I'm dead oh well who cares not anybody Genesee County New York where I live! Oh yeah I wish under my sink looked like that there's mold under there too! If you're living in HUD Section 8 home yes they should make them fix the damn roof yes they should be taking off an outlet where the two prongs are upstairs from the 19 whatever way early with the cloth wiring it's in my hallway! Yes they should look at the sticker on the furnace that says 1995! Yes they should hire people that can do their job fixing things but they don't not here in Batavia New York not when your landlord is the head of the Republican Party I'll be a martyr for HUD people and I'll suffer to help others because I'm not going to keep putting up with what they do to me I can have a home in jail! I'm tired of the things that they did to me here it's not right! Yeah they don't care about the foundation of the house the roof the most important things the electric where I live. It's too depressing

    Fyi, inspections work both ways. It's for the landlord to check on their property, but also for the tenant to let them know of anything that needs fixing in the home. I'd be taking that dishwasher out. It's just another thing to fix. Plus it's using up precious cupboard space in a small kitchen. But that's me.

    As a landlord I have no respect or sympathy for section 8 landlords. I love seeing these landlords get harmed because they are evil socialists who accept money stolen from taxpayers. We the People should not have our hard earned tax dollars spent without benefit to those same tax payers. Forcibly taking tax money from honest earners then handing it over to those who have done nothing to earn or deserve it is criminal. It turns those honest tax payers into partial slaves forcing us to work against our will for others.
