Elegant use of the masking tape and file to match the contour of each shard. I have a few pieces with dimples like that and have been trying to figure out how to keep the kokuso urushi where it belongs. I hadn't thought to do that before. Also appreciated the makeshift legs made from the tape to support it while curing. Great tips!

How expensive is this method? I mean, the ceramics used in these examples looked pretty run-of-the-mill, but in real life, I take it that this method would only be used with very expensive ceramics. Or with the aim to create art.

Looks beautiful but like 1 month's worth of work! Superglue goes a long ways. You can finely grind up bone and put the powder in gaps and then squirt superglue into it to make a hard filler. I think baking soda might work too.

Hello. I wanted to try your kit to repair a cup I made that cracked in the kiln but did not break completely. It has two or three very thin hairline cracks and two nearly 1 mm cracks. The inside is glazed but the outside is not and is very rough clay. Do you think it would work using tape in the outside?
