I enjoyed this part - all the cockiness dissolved as the realisation that the sh*t just got real hit hard.

Movie was great, loved the character arcs, especially the villain. Realistic portrayal of how a villain could come out of a psychologically healthy person after an encounter with malevolence, because of their lack of wisdom and intelligence. The choice in the end of reviving his daughter instead of killing all gods was expected, and emphasised the true motivation for his actions. The fact that the Necrosword can corrupt the wielder and he still chose to save his daughter is an excellent detail. It says that all of the bloodshed wasn’t a result of the villain being corrupted by the blade. This is a very real thing that happens, figuratively speaking. This is not a 2-brain cell villain who was born enjoying seeing people get hurt. It’s a good lesson, at least in awareness. There’s no easy way towards wisdom, experience, and critical thinking, which would have made the difference to the character arc. Great story, it’s a window into how humans are like and it’s quite accurate.

This movie brought me back to 1986. I was in high school, Ronald Reagan was president, we were in the longest peacetime economic expansion in history, our military was feared and respected, it was morning again in America, all was right with the world. Would that it would be again.

That would be hard in Mavericks shoes seeing Gooses son knowing he is training them for a mission of high risk knowing he could be sending Gooses son to his grave. Could see where morally if his son died also it would destroy any pilots morale.

This was a nice moment. Maverick felt like he had to save Rooster to redeem himself for what happened to Goose. And at first he was mad that Rooster saved him after he saved Rooster saying how saving him was the point and he didnt want Rooster in danger. But instead of only redeeming himself by saving Rooster and sacrificing himself, he also needed to realize his life is worth saving too and that he deserved to live instead of being ridden with guilt this whole time. And Rooster saying "its what my dad wouldve done" is a way to show forgiveness to Maverick and for him to accept forgiveness. What happened to Goose was an accident and Goose loved Mavetick and would save him too and Maverick needed to know that.

Hate how thor acts here. HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE A HERO! INSTEAD HE ACTS NONCHALANT! HE SHOULD KNOW THIS ALREADY CONSIDERING HE FIGHTS WITH THE AVENGERS!

Ah, i finally realized why christian bale is bad in this movie, but that also explains batman's temporary return with Robert Pattinson, which came before this movie. To be honest it's heartbreaking to see Bale in this condition, and genuinely and deeply troublesome

This was an underrated sequel. Such great acting all the way around from EVERYONE. Mav literally became Viper and these hotshots were all a younger version of him, Goose, and Iceman. So well done. The flight sequences were superb, always kept you on the edge of your seat. This was a masterclass on how to pass on the torch. Glad they waited so they could do it right.
