Rotten smell / odor Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer (~2010) PART 2
PART 2 Our washer smelled whenever it was used (and even somewhat when it wasn't being used. Cleaning it with bleach using the recommended method DID NOT work (it improved things slightly). We had a lot of buildup in the tub and the lint filter under the drum. PART 1 th-cam.com/video/1yPqpjPPpD0/w-d-xo.html talks about all of that and what I did. This video (I couldn't figure out how to merge them) shows the re-assembly process, which can be used to understand the disassembly process (I spent a couple of hours taking it apart and cleaning everything and didn't do any video until it was ready to go back together)

Sometimes brakes help stop the car. Turns out, this isn't "sometimes". Both the front and rear brakes wore out at the same time, and I sailed off turn 5. The speed when I started braking was above 130 mph.

Scott stud failure
มุมมอง 539 หลายเดือนก่อน
Gingerman ChampCar race, at about the 3 hour mark, with Scott at the wheel. The left front wheel studs all shear off and the wheel goes 200 feet into the scrub and trees. Scott tagged the Datsun 510 (the 510 hit his rear) when the car suddenly stopped turning. The 510 team was able to fix the car and get back going (they said it wasn't badly damaged)

People always ask how fast the car goes in a typical race. In this video, we have a digital speedometer that is easily seen above and to the right of the steering wheel. (you probably can't read it on a phone though). Turn on Closed Captions and you will see a few comments about the video

    Thanks for posting this. This was me driving on Sunday morning. It sure felt like the Miata came underneath me, as the rear brakes have never before locked up like that before, but there were no signs of contact on either cars. Maybe the draft effect is real? Who knows. Thanks again.

      With no marks on the car, my best GUESS is that you transitioned to braking much more abruptly than normal because of the rapidly slowing car in front of you. That transferred weight off of the rear and made them lock. Notice how much your rear is in the air - not much weight on the axle at that moment. One other time when I was behind you the rear wasn't as high because I think you eased into the brakes more. Just my 2 cents though!

    It looks like the brake lights on the Monte don't come on until about a second before impact.

    Awe that sucks!!! Was there a red flag or did everyone e just check up?

    • @RaceFan996
      @RaceFan996 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No red flag or yellow flag. Not sure why everyone chose to slow/stop. There was one car that had what seemed to be a mechanical problem but that doesn't explain how we ended up with a blocked track

    • @paraord78
      @paraord78 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was a bit because of us, the blue civic 3 cars in front. We lost an axle coming out of the turn and the 2 cars behind us back off. You can see us at 0:18 on the power and the "nothing". The Grand-Prix ad lot's of room to go.

    • @RaceFan996
      @RaceFan996 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah - you guys were the trigger but the other two cars wouldn't have been a problem if they had just kept on line and stayed at 90% race pace. It looks like one of them followed you (which is funny because you seemed intentionally off line trying to stay out of the way) and then the big boat just slams on the brakes. I guess he never heard the old maxim "get past the accident and you won't be part of it"

      @@RaceFan996 That's just really poor and unsafe driving by the Monte Carlo. Plus the lack lack of brake lights until the last second before impact.

    Thanks for uploading. I am thinking about attending this course next year. Did you feel the course was worth the $$$?

    • @RaceFan996
      @RaceFan996 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alexander Lavery The course is worth the money if you are starting with little to no experience, because it starts with very basic info and exercises. If you already have some road racing experience, you will probably be slightly disappointed with it.

      @firstfloormain 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +racefan996 Excellent. I would fit the category of little track experience. I am essentially looking to get qualified for tracks... If I may ask 1) Did the instructors give much individual attention? 2) Were the instructors passionate about teaching? Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

    • @RaceFan996
      @RaceFan996 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      firstfloormain The instructors gave a pretty good amount of instruction, although they didn't spend as much time in the car with the students as you might imagine. You could probably ask for additional time and get it though. They were all very into racing, and seemed to enjoy the teaching aspect. If you have your own car that is somewhat high performance, you may want to consider doing an HPDE event at a track near you. You can google that term and find lots of them. In most HPDEs, you will have an instructor that will spend the whole day in the car with you. You might not get an instructor as good as what they have at Bondurant, but you will get MUCH more time with them. After you've done that, Bondurant could be a good second step. If you are on the east coast or in the center of the country, Chin Motorsports is a great organization to run with. If you click on my user and look at my other videos, you will see lots of video from Chin events. They get onto some really good tracks. The Bondurant track is a good teaching track, but it isn't as interesting as some of the tracks that Chin goes to.

    Just looked at the video title and thought, hey, I was there that day! Man what a blast it was. Awesome sharing the experience and track with you. I'm dying to get back on the track again. You getting much track time these days?

    • @RaceFan996
      @RaceFan996 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a lot of fun, for sure. I was watching this particular one and thought "Why did Andrew point me by? He had me covered. I only caught him because of traffic." You definitely had some of the best track manners out there. As to the question of track time: I've been doing a fair bit. I did a few days on Road Atlanta (great track) before going and living the dream of driving the Circuit of the Americas. What a track!! Take a look at my channel and you will see a bunch of footage from both. When I get some time, I will be uploading some more.
