Does a wire have to be ran under the driver way connecting the motors with the solar option?
no. you can install the solar panel on the side of the driveway that the box is on, making sure you point it towards the sun so it charges the batteries. then you run wire from your red and black on the panel to the right side red and black on the J-15 power harness.
How does the second motor get power then? I had the same question, wondering if it comes with a second battery and solar panel and wirelessly communicated to the other motor from the one box@@landonxollins5812

How do you get the photocell to operate better in wet or moist conditions? Is there a way that it would work in those conditions without having to wipe the reflector or photocell?
I inherited one of these and when you turn power on the motor just spins continuously / won’t stop & LED for motor 2 stays on. Do you know what could be causing this? I had to take the chain off so it wouldn’t break. Hitting the limit switches doesn’t stop it (but the LEDs do light up). Also LED 22 for the foot pedal is lit up, but I would have thought that would cut power to the motor, not cause it to run continuously?

It’s really a preference at the end of the day. They could also add non climb rails on 2x4s if they would like additional security.

I know this is old but most likely a bad limit switch or limit switch needs to be adjusted

I have one of the older SL 100 gate openers. It has been working fine for many years. In the last week for the first time, the gate stopped opening. If I manually pull the gate open, the CLOSING operation works perfectly, meaning the remote, the board, the motor, etc. Of course, I have taken off the cover and looked everything over, cleaned everything, etc. The remote operations, the open and close limit switches and the board all seem to be working just fine. But for the OPEN GATE function, the motor just doesn't seem to be getting any power any more. It doesn't even try to open. So the board just keeps flashing open until I manually open it to the point that the OPEN limit switch thinks the gate motor opened the gate correctly all the way. From there, I can use the remote again and presto, the gate CLOSES perfectly and the electronics all work as usual. So I know the motor is working to close the gate. I know basically that everything is functioning normally except that the motor does not engage to OPEN or even act like it is getting the power to open. Have you run across this before and is there a relay or something that might have burned out? I pressed the "reset" button on the motor but that didn't seem to change anything. Another thought. Would it hurt anything for me to temporarily "test" the open function by reversing the wiring so that the CLOSE wires and OPEN wires from the board are switched? Even once, just to see if I can get the gate to open by using power from the "close" terminal instead? Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Me too except mine clicks then tries to open the door then I have to help it. .Did anyone figure it out?? tech came out said it needs a new motor at $850 !!! Said he could maybe replace the capacitor but not sure that would work. wondering how hard it is to replace the motor?? seems pretty straight forward but wondering if there is a "tuning " that would need to be done that I can't do

I have the same gate and recently started having issues and cannot find a video for troubleshooting. How do you set the travel limit? I know I need to adjust the cams but don't know exactly how to do it. My gate opens fine but when it closes, it hits a post, bounces back, hits the post again, and then stops. Sometimes it jumps 3, 4, 5 or even more times. Also, I've lost power in the past and have not been able to just push the gate open. Can you make a video on how to do that?

beautiful fence, looks like an 8 ft privacy fence, how did you secure the vertical 2x4 in between the metal posts, i’m guess with a pocket jig or nail gun, another are the horizontal sections done with 6ft cedar planks? once again love the work done, you gained a subscriber
