Come visit the Smoky Mountains and let’s ride!
I might have to when it warms up! I’ve always wanted to go to that area of the country

100 wiht many more to go. Great job Colby88
Respect that motorcycle.... No matter the cc's
Starting on a larger displacement bike (assuming you have common sense and can handle the physical weight) is best. It will teach you steady inputs and to respect what you’re sitting on. Riding a 250-400 will teach you the exact opposite.
You get used to anything
10:04 you know there is a oil filter drain on the DRZ so oil doesn’t drip all over your engine. Look closely towards the bottom of the that oil filter cap, you will see a channel which leads to a 10mm bolt I believe. Awesome video though, I love your bike man. The blue wheels look sick
The drz case is very brittle and it’s a common problem for that lower drain plug to break off when retightening. Most people recommend leaving that one alone.
Oh dang I never knew about that plug. Usually I just let oil drip on the engine and spray it with brake clean after haha
i eat, sleep, drink oil
I smoke it but my drz burns it. lol
Bro it happens. I got a big scar on my ass from looping the drz and skidding my ass across the pavement lol. Good shit though on hitting that scrape! Just more practice and seat time
I had a similar issue with a past bike I had. Same thing. I had to delete all the stupid sensors and loop the wires together lol. But I’m glad it was an easy fix and you’re back on the DRZ! 💪
Bro, you dont ride in rain? Im a New Zealander, if i chose to not ride in rain i would ride about five time a year.
YESSIR
Glad you fixed it, im look forward to these videos lol.
you have one sexy bike
Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad it was an easy fix, I did not want to go down the rabbit hole of chasing electrical issues😂
@@colby88 fr
trying to fix electrical wouldve been a pain in the ass to fix
Wow that fall was way more gentle than mine was 4 years ago. I still have tail bone problems. I rolled and had really bad road rash on my back
I think now is the best time to start on a 600cc + bike they all have safety features like abs, traction control, rain modes etc… so you don’t really need to train brake control and throttle control is easy to learn if your not a dumbass only thing is the weight I don’t think beginners are capable of not dropping and picking up their bikes
Just from My observation on the sidewalk path you have been using, It looks like the seams of the sidewalk relief cuts were giving you some feedback even in the second gear but when you got into third, It was reacting more because she was only higher speed and giving your suspension more load. Bumps like that You can disrupt even experienced riders. Pivoting your left foot on the foot peg and swinging your leg with the foot pivoting can help you steer and it has been my experience a slight turn towards the direction you want to steer away from in the bars can help you navigate left to right while on one wheel. Everybody's different. Let your head sit back and your shoulders drop and the bike will be more stable once you are at Balance point.
That’s a good point! Didn’t think of that. I’ve been trying to work on body positioning as well as tryin g to stay relaxed while at balance point. It’s definitely a big learning curve lol
@colby88 heal up fix your hog and get back on it. Let's see what you can do
Hey, how's it going? I'd like to use your clip in a moto edit. I'll make sure to credit you in all the descriptions. Is that okay?
Yes that’s fine with me!
I like the series and am new to drz wheelies as well. I also started in 1st and have moved up to 2nd. Try to find a location with a hill to practice on. That park is a pretty sweet location tho.
Nice video man you deserve more subscribers btw hows the arm going now lol.
Appreciate the kind words! It’s doing better for sure, took a day or so to scab up and it’s already going away🤙
Good to hear man!
biggest wimp I've ever hard whine before. Sounds like a basketball player that got elbowed
Crazy that saying “Ow” after getting hurt is considered whining
@colby88 i bet you say ow when someone gives you a fist bump. So pathetic
Happy to See you good! It‘s part of the game keep learning
Nbt clothing showing it's worth 😭
Lol I wasn’t trying to bash the brand, they make some good stuff. I just fell in the perfect way to where my sleeve got rolled up
@@colby88not the perfect way it happens a lot with looser gear that’s why usually jackets and suits are tighter and harder to move in because when you fall the sleeves won’t roll up and the material isn’t loose enough to cause road rash itself, hey man I think the nbt stuff looks cool and works good but you’re always taking a risk for the drip!
Haha yes for sure, I’ve definitely thought about buying some tighter gear after this spill😂
Danggg that was high up! That was crazy! Which tail light and license plate holder do you have?
You know I’m not sure? It came on the bike whenever I got it, I’d have to take a closer look
@@colby88 gotcha! I like how it’s tucked up underneath. I currently have the TST tail light + tag mount but I’m afraid if I loop it will ruin it all since it’s at the very tip/edge. I think yours looks cooler. Maybe I’ll just relocate mine (custom brackets) and push it back further under the fender
Yeah mine didn’t get damaged really at all! It is tucked more under the bike though, I’d definitely recommend doing that
@ thanks man, will do 😎
we all knew it would happen but glad your alright
Yeahh, just part of the learning process
Hey! May I use this video in my new episode? Full Credited of course
Whats the new video? Learning to wheelie with wilbur?
Yeah man go right ahead!
@@colby88 atleast you got put in moto stars
@@colby88 Thanks!
good to see your good after that. seems small but you hit hard when you fall. hope the bike is good! love the videos!
Thanks so much! Yeah my body is all good and I’m pretty sure the bike is good as well. Still need to do a thorough look on it. Glad it wasn’t worse than it was👍
Is that an rsc clutch lever?
You know I’m not sure? Haven’t bothered to check the brand, came on the bike when I bought it
Looks like that hurt
It wasn’t the best feeling in the world😂 but hey the body heals and we’ll be back soon
Happens. Glad your alright!
Bro unfortunately will never say Kachow before a wheelie ever again :(
Seen that coming from the start of the video 😂😂😂
Fr did not see that coming😐
the stock gearing sucks for wheelies and torque
I think this bike has different gearing, haven’t bothered to check though. The speedo is pretty off
Stock gearing on mine, i can clutch up in third. What are you on about?
what clutch perch is that and do you like it
Not sure of the brand, it came on the bike when I got it. I definitely like it tho!
Reason 3 isn't invalid. Tires make all the difference in mud and sand, even on an enduro. Front wheel size also makes a big difference both on and off road. I've got a DR650 as my everything bike including year round commuting. I think it would be fun to have a SM to supplement the DR for commuting and street fun 😂.
Oh yeah for sure, I got too confident thinking I could just ride through mud with 17 in wheels and street tires and thought I’d be fine😂
You ever get Karen's out there to call the cops? 😂
I haven’t had anyone try and stop me yet😂 but I also try and be courteous to other runners. Plus cops can’t get down here soooo🤷♂️
Btw…these DRZ’s are dry sump oil pick ups. Checking the oil level. Let it run for 3 min at idle. Turn it off. Let it sit for 3 min then Check the level with the bike in the up right position not on kickstand
Oh yeah for sure, I figured that out when I did the first oil change lol. Gonna keep that in mind when I change it this next time
Lowering the air pressure in the rear definitely gives you more stability. I’ve never ridden on SM tires, but I’ve felt the difference in fully inflated dirt tires and letting a bunch of air out.
That’s what I’ve heard from some people too, might have to try lowering it a bit more
What bike is this and how much cc??
It’s a 2017 DRZ400sm and I think the specific engine size is a 398cc?
Your wheelies are definitely getting better 💪🏼 Trying riding the rear brake just ever so slightly the entire time until you get the feel for it then just stick with the tap tap tap theory
That’s actually what I’ve been working on! Riding it just a tad especially on the way up makes the journey up to balance point way more controlled and predictable.
@@colby88 sweet! If you get it all figured out, post a video! When I get a chance I’ll try to give it another shot. It’s so hard to find a place to wheelie without getting a ticket lol
Ego issues. They feel the need to flex for no reason lol
For real…like yeah dude your bike is cool but what can you actually do with it? Nothing is usually the answer…
@@colby88 👌💯
Nice! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Nice wheelies! I’m about where you are in the wheelie progression in this video. It’s so hard for me to find a safe location away from cops and people though. Dang I need to find a place like this
Yeah I definitely got lucky finding a spot like this close to my place!
I’m your 5th liker 🙂👍
Thank you!!
Did you burp in my face at the start? I'm out at :11
Sowwy bout dat
Well said dude!
Geee whiz. Nobody comes to mind.... BAYYYBEEEEE. o.O
Lol I’m not calling anyone out specifically. I like his vids, just wish I saw more people pushing their bikes to the limits they were built to reach is all.
Reckless behavior sure thins the herd. Impulsiveness makes a fool of a king. Driving at the limit on public roads only endangers the innocent. Rude people are like that. Professionals build skills on the track. Never on the highway. They understand the sport and respect the public. That takes maturity. Most of TH-cam videos are void of that level of understanding. So they run from police and give bikes a bad name. Not that they care.
We got Shakespeare over here making accusations for stuff I didn’t say…all I said is if you’re gonna show off actually do stuff that takes skill
When in disgrace with fortune and men’s eye, I alone be weep my outcast state. A sonnet that evaluates the need for approval and belonging. Folks have been learning from Shakespeare for centuries. Wisdom is a beautiful thing. Skill is a dubious term. It’s the secret motivations that make someone define and justify their actions. Wisdom is the principle thing. It keeps achievement flowing without irreparable damage. In the end. It’s no one’s fault but our own. Injuries never fully heal. Try not to wreck the good things you have by being stupid. I’ll leave the last word to you.
Damn tbh that one went kinda hard, crying a little fr
