Can you tell me the key number for the screws that tighten the engine head?
What do you mean by key number?
Your steering drag link appears to be adjusted /extended way too far. I don't think much off the threaded rod end is inside the adjustment sleeve.
The potato quality video is likely making it more difficult to see. If I remember correctly, I replaced it with a Moog at some point and noticed the available threads were a bit excessive for the needed engagement.
Nice truck, what’s under the hood?
5.3 with 4l60
@@badadvicegarage nice 👍
I notice this is a little bit of an older video by now. I’m researching doing the same job on my 1979 k20. It has an old 4” block lift in the rear. Shocks are wore out in every corner I’m sure. Along with steering stabilizer. I have had the truck a long time. But started trying to make it more drive able. The 355 fires up at the slightest touch of the key. So not worried about doing the ls swap that seems to be really popular now. Although I’d like to hear how you’re enjoying that over the length of time now? I upgraded all my brake lines to stainless steel. Including the rubber hoses. They don’t make much more to upgrade the 3/4ton brakes like they do 1/2 tons. So suspension is my next step. My truck rides like a tank. Incredibly stiff. I wondered how you’ve liked this upgrade now over the years? If there’s any comments or advice you would throw in hindsight? I was planning on fox shocks. They claim to be the smoothest option and looking to gain every ounce of bettering it I can. Without doing crazy expensive 4 link upgrade or anything like that
Ride quality is great. Some people reference it feeling "loose" when towing with the set up, but I haven't noticed anything. A good air chisel with enough of compressor will make the job a breeze when you go to knock the rivets out.
@@badadvicegarage thanks for the reply! That sounds great in my book. I have no intentions of towing the old truck at this point anymore. Once upon a time it was all I had and used it for towing. Fortunately these days I have other modern trucks for that.
Nice, needs bigger wheels, and dropped a couple of inches
No for every one asking the idle speed is. Not to low the predators just idle slow I have had 4 over the past few years and it just idles slow I have turned it up and it does not like it and I have the same exhaust it sounds nice good looking bike
Does the oem fuel pump not produce enough pressure for the ls?
This truck was originally carbed and had a mechanical fuel pump. Some later models had TBI woth an intank pump. They do not produce enough pressure or volume for the LS fuel pressure
#keepsportquadsalive
can i have the camo one please it would be a nice gift for my little brother
I just got one
Seen you driving thru central arkansas the other day, decided to check out your channel.
Thanks for stopping by. Reminds me that I might need to post some videos!
Nice set up, how does the fuel mileage compared to a typical small block?
SB was typically around 10 mpg, with a pretty aggressive cam. LS is around 17 mpg highway, But I also have taller gears now. Driveablility is the biggest improvement
Good Job
Thanks!
Love the video bud good info and informative loved the I'm not a professional I'm jus a dude 😂
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hope it helped in some way!
Looks nice, my only complaint is those side mirrors..I like the the low profile mirror kits for these trucks. Cool truck none the less though.
I like to see out my side mirrors. I've tried those, but couldn't see out the passenger side.
@@badadvicegaragein my opinion you should keep the full size mirrors but get chrome to match door handle

Beautiful truck!

Great choice!
3 with a manual
Oddly enough it originally had a manual that was swapped at some point of it's life.
Like the camo but the blue one is good for the street, 2 purposes, 2 trucks
The red stepside is a good in between.
how do you like it? heard alot of good and bad.
Loved the quad. Fast and it was reliable for me. Easy enough to work on if you can read service manuals. Some internal engine parts are hard to source. Overall, no regrets owning it.
@@badadvicegarage thanks for the info i got one and only got to ride it once. its super fast but i gotta fix a high idle issue
@lucivevoidd938 Goodluck with the project! I hope you enjoy the quad!
Awesome job.
Thanks
What seat are you running?
The are from Amazon. There is a link in my final cost video for this truck.
What paint is that?
Grabber Blue acrylic urethane. There is a link in the video description
Yes not a c10 but gmt400
Badadvicegarage@gmail.com let's talk.
Yes.
🤘🤘
turn ur idle up lol
I don’t think thats something to be proud of 😂 I’ve never had a power steering pump go bad in any of my trucks but that’s probably because I had a father that taught me how to drive…
I'm not sure how having a dad makes your power steering pump survive high RPMs? But yes, very proud that I have this truck to enjoy and do stupid stuff in.
@@badadvicegarageI hate people like the dude who commented that
@@jaimenbrunson1652 I just assume they live a very boring life full of complaining about someone else having fun.
Looks good!! Your the only one you have to please.
Thank You!

Looks like petty blue to me.
It's Grabber blue, but fairly close.
Turn that jukebox on!
I'm calling you next time! Lol
The only way to do it😂

@@badadvicegarage I am relatively new to working on my own car. Always watching videos on car and bike building. But I got my little dream car which is a 1981 Ausin Mini 1275E. Dream is to eventually fully restore the car and might even go turbo with it. 200hp is pretty fun in such a small car.
@gsxrpat6147 it's a great hobby to have. For me it's very rewarding! Good luck with the build! Don't give up on it.
Lose your butt if you sell
Very likely, but I'll be able to afford another build I'm planning.
@@badadvicegarage shit if you do it for fun, I got a good project I need done lol
Very nice project, love the Blue. I have a 85 Square Body SB with a ZZ4 350 CID, looking maybe to do the switch with an LS eventually. The ZZ4 run good for now. Hope you will find a way to kept it and continue your project.👍🏻
@@teddybertgarage4119 thanks! You don't hear about ZZ4 much these days! I'd almost say keep it for nostalgia.
@@mblake0420 what state are you in?
Nice! Gettin er done bud! One thing I would say is to sand or grind the paint off along the spot welded seams to help reveal each one cause the paint kind of float fills in the little divets left behind by the spot welder. Save you a lotta headache
This would have saved me alot of time! Thanks! I'll do this is the future.
Does anybody running a camera these days, know how to zoom out??
You're expecting great camera angles from a channel named Bad Advice?
If my vehicle came back like that I wouldn't pay !
Good thing I didn't?
Wish I had a piece of that in the city
Right behind you brother I just picked up a 76K5 blazer 4 x 4
