Raised on a cattle ranch. My Dad always taught me to never mess with a bull’s head, not even to show affection. The head is their weapon. To do so could easily agitate the bull. So I guess it could work for dogs as well.

I have been peting dogs on their heads for 6 decades. My dogs, friends dogs, and strangers dogs. It is all in how you approach the dog. Just don't make a fast motion and always offer the back of your hand to a strange dog b4 attempting to pet a dog that doesn't know you.

The pictures do not match the dog breed. A SharPei for Neopolitan Mastiff, French Bulldog for French Mastiff, etc. Every mastiff breed featured has pictures of many other dog breeds. Some mastiff breeds did not have a single photo
