    I totally relate. I was coerced into an abortion 12 years ago and I’m still heartbroken about it.

    I have been in this exact situation. My ex was so cruel to me when pregnant. The counsellors in the clinic are useless. They are not counsellors. I’m so sorry you’ve experienced this too. It is heartbreaking. 😢

    I was 29 when he forced me to do the same. His reply to my pregnancy suspicions was "that little creature needs to die". He said the fruit of our love was not going to shatter his career prospects and that his dad would commit suicide. I said no but he kept insisting that I would destroy his life had I kept the baby. We went to see his family friend, a former pro-abortions activist. Then I spoke to that woman's daughter, who was doing a training to work in planned parenthood. I went then to two abortion clinics. They all said the same when I asked if I could develop depression afterward: in my guy's words, that just b***s*** written by (pro-life) haters. Nice try! He came to the clinic on the days I took the pills. I felt reduced to a hand signing a paper because he couldn't do it for me. A mouth swallowing 7 pills, because he could not do it. I remember he asked the gyne at the clinic how long until the effect of the first set of pills kicks in. She said sth like the progesterone would stop nourishing the pregnancy and it will end. I was shocked. I had taken vitamins and were careful to eat well and exercise for the baby's sake and now she's saying that. I remember the pool of blood, the clots, the many pads soaked in blood, the pain. I have light periods. That was sth I hadn't lived before. It looked like a crime scene. And I will never forget I flushed my baby down the drain. They want us to feel empowered? By what? By domestic violence? When you said you feel angry all the time, I was like... I know how it feels. But now I feel less alone. I can't believe how men can use women's repreoductive rights against the womens, then the victims are asked to feel empowered, emancipated, etc. just because the objects of the violence is, for other women, a true symbol of freedom. I'm so sorry for you and for anyone else who's been through that. I wrote today in a support group "coerced abortions are the horror, the horror, the horror. don't try this at home".

    Do you back off if a woman you approach tells you to leave her alone? Do you trespass on clinic property to try to talk to women? I applaud you for not using graphic signs. But how do you respond if a woman chooses to abort anyway?

    • @AbortionRethinkorg
      @AbortionRethinkorg 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We passed your questions onto Holly, this is what she says: 'Our role outside the clinic ends if a women isn't interested in what we can provide. As soon as she says 'no thanks' or 'not interested ' after we offer her some help, we don't pursue it any further. And of course once a woman enter the premises our role is over, we stand out by the footpath of the road, we don't enter the facility. If a woman isn't interested in anything we have to say, we know we've tried, and we recognise it's now up to her.'

    Yes, "too easy"! I was much younger when I had 2 abortions about 15 years apart, and yes, I did make that choice, but have regretted it with tears ever since. And yes, no-one offered me any counselling either before or after, and yes, it was treated in a very cold, matter of fact manner. Some time later I applied for a job as receptionist for a local General Practice and in the interview was asked what I would do/say if someone came in to ask for a termination. When I said that I'd ask if that person wanted to get some counselling I was frowned upon, and told I would be unsuitable for the position. What is this all about? Are there really people out there who love killing unborn babies? Who do not want a woman to think twice about it?

    • @rebeccaanderson525
      @rebeccaanderson525 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Caroline, I am so sorry that you experienced that :'( And what a terrible way to treat you at that job interview - you'd think they'd actually want to help women in these very vulnerable situations! Have you accessed any post termination counselling? I know several women who have found it very helpful. It can be hard to find the right counsellor since post abortion grief is sadly often ignored or not acknowledged by mainstream psychology. Priceless House are great. They're in Brisbane but can link you to free of charge, professional counselling in your area or over the phone. Their website is here pricelesshouse.org.au/ or you can PM their FB page: facebook.com/pricelesslifecentre/?ref=br_rs All the best to you and please take care of yourself xx

      Thank you for sharing your personal story Caroline. I am so sorry to hear about your loss and your regret. Yes, that is amazing that you were rejected a position for that reason! That is exactly what women should be offered at a GP if they are contemplating an abortion. At Abortion Rethink, we are trying to bring these issues to the attention of government.

    Emma is so right about the ease of adoption now in the U.S. and the adoptive parents supporting the birth mother. It's expensive, but not out of reach. We need to present adoption 100 times more than it's being presented as the answer to an unwanted child.

    Powerful testimony. Keep giving a voice to the voiceless little bubba's. Interesting it was the pressure from the father and she really didn't want to do it, yet it is promoted as empowering women. God bless you Jaya. I pray you heal and enjoy the beautiful blessing of your daughter that you do have.

    No one ever said it would be pretty. Yes abortion is sad, it shouldn't be illegal because you think it's sad. There's also a big difference between an abortion at 12 weeks and a premature baby at 27 weeks, huge difference. One is conscious and can feel pain, the other is not.

    Thank you Emma for speaking of what you have gone through re the killing of your babies in the womb. I do find it concerning when you say regularly about "not judging anyone", " and similar, as if judging is wrong. What is the matter with saying something is wrong? We make judgements all the time, especially what is good and bad. Certainly women (and men) face a range of different pregnancy circumstances, but killing a baby in the womb, is killing a baby in the womb. Also, there can be no real healing and forgiveness unless it is found in Christ. No one has the power to forgive themselves from any sin, let alone abortion. Forgiveness is fond in our Creator. And He has graciously made the way possible through His Son. (Read the Bible Isaiah 53:5, John 3:16-18) All the best.
