How Addiction Plays into Spirituality with Psychic Medium Corrine Pelland
Welcome to Illumi-Nation:
Illumi-Nation serves as a transformative platform where a skilled psychic intuitive therapist (Susan Casey) and spiritual healer (Valerie Moon) collaborate to plant seeds of awakening in the hearts and minds of listeners.
Our mission is to guide individuals on a journey of self-discovery, helping them break free from the amnesia that accompanies our earthly experience. Through a blend of therapeutic insights and spiritual wisdom, we aim to trigger a profound remembering, reconnecting individuals with the inherent truths buried within their souls. Join us in the exploration of self-awareness, healing, and the rediscovery of the timeless wisdom that resides within all of us.
In this episode, Susan and Valerie sit with psychic medium, Corrine Pelland, as a follow up to an earlier interview with Corrine to delve more deeply into how addiction can play into spirituality. Corrine shares her personal journey with her addictions with alcohol, heroin and crack cocaine as a way to cope with the overwhelming barrage of feelings, visions and sensations she experienced as a gifted psychic medium.
Guest Medium Bio:
Corrine is an Empath and a Psychic Medium. Even as a small child, Corrine has had a special insight into other people’s emotions. Beginning in her early teenage years, her intuition would alert her when something important was about to occur, either for herself or a loved one. At age 14, Corrine began using the wisdom of Tarot Cards to enhance her psychic connection. As years went on, Corrine became more aware of her ability as her readings became more accurate and her predictions began to materialize. At the age of 30, she began having premonition dreams. After seeking the guidance of her Shaman, she came to accept that she is an Empath & an Intuitive. Corrine is a natural healer, using her Empathy, Intuition, and Reiki to heal others emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Corrine is also able to mediate communication between people who are no longer living to those who still are. She offers private readings, healings, and in-home parties. She is a wedding officiant offering custom-written ceremonies for all couples. Her true passion is teaching others to honor their own abilities and helping others heal themselves.

As a healer and mentor, she strongly supports those wishing to make change and permanently shift into a higher vibration. Valerie holds a BA in Psychology as well as certifications in Breathwork and Reiki.
Susan E. Casey, MSW, MFA, is an author, a psychic intuitive mental health clinician, a certified bereavement group facilitator, a certified life coach, and a podcaster. Throughout the past 30 years, Susan has worked in hospice, in-patient, and home-based settings with teens and adults, and taught numerous courses to executive leaders and clinicians. Why is this woman talking about this subject and laughing??? If I was telling the story about my son’s death and someone I was talking with laughed i would probably go off on her! My son did pass and couldn’t do that interview I’m sorry. She then talks about her brother passing that’s nothing compared to a child loss. I know also from experience I lost my only brother as well and that was just first and worst loss up until I lost my son. It’s been two and a half years since I lost my son and I can’t talk about him for a minute without crying this interview is weird

@@mourningskygriefcoach I apologize if this was not perceived as I intended, I'm at a delicate time, as well, hearing people say " its funny" I should respect their words and feelings. I am not judgemental, just compassionate to all who are on this tough road. Picky with words, I'm sorry to hurt or offend. I'm not to the point of thinking funny things yet regarding a child loss. 😥💞

Thank you @mourningskygriefcoach for helping to clarify my statement, "it's funny." And yes, you're right, it was meant more in an ironic way than actually being funny. I will be more sensitive to the language I use, because I do understand, @doriwalsh8692, that using the word "funny" in the space of losing a loved one can be a trigger. So to both of you, I thank you for your commentary. I deeply appreciate being able to have the space here where we can all come together in compassion, love, and a shared understanding. Thank you both for taking the time to leave comments.

Thank you for your comment and insight, we are pained with our losses, and I admit I've been "critical" with words. I was short and blunt, I apologize. We feel and say what we feel, words dont come out, or understood as we want with everyone. I'm in my first year of child loss and it hurts. Words affect me, without taking into consideration the big picture. God Bless you, and all who have lost a child or loved one. The greatest pain one endures. 😢

I prayed this morning to God to send me some sort of help then one of your videos randomly came up in my feed and it happened to be a woman who lost a son around the same time I did and around the same age. Videos like that never come up in my feed. Then I found out you are in Maine and so am I! I’ve found very little resources here. Wow...thank you for this comment, Natalie. Podcasts are a low-feedback platform and I'm never sure if the stories I share are having an impact. I lost two brothers. My mother was devastated and I became very depressed and anxious. Now I am suffering from depression and anxiety all the time and now I am a hermit and don't have to deal with the world anymore. O lost my career and everything I worked for lost my zest for life and all the good things it had to offer, I feel like an empty shell. I was a good student and I always wanted to make a difference, I turned to drugs and knew that was not the answer, I loved learning and wanted to become the best version of myself, and I lost the will to live. I was a good student and loved learning worker. Loved what I was doing, Bad influences in my life and bad friends. Lige can be beautiful if you surround yourself with the right people

Thank you Daniel for opening up and sharing your story. This is an amazingly painful but incredibly relatable story. We have to get to that point ourself where we want to figure out why we've been doing what we did and how to gain control and become our best Self. Your growth is tremendous and it's wonderful to see you finding purpose and sharing your self and your path and putting it out here in the world to help others heal. Love is indeed the only thing that can heal hurt.

Oh Brandy, I am so so sorry to hear this devastating news. You lost two kids to fentanyl? I hope you are getting support either through group work or counseling or church. What I've grown to understand is how often people suffer in silence and solitude...this is why I've dedicated my life to offering support and resources to people who are in deep grief. Please know if you're not receiving any support that there is help out there and you don't have to do this alone. Sending you love, light and deep blessings.

I just lost my son at 47..he had suffered from schizoaffective disorder since 15. Jeff was a beautiful young man,but started to tattoo his face, and entire body with scary tattoos..trying to keep anyone from trying to hurt him. He was married to a gal who also has problems..they were together for 14 yrs. Chris doesn’t bathe,is a hoarder..but he loved her. It just hurt to see him in the icu, dirty, scarred,I felt heartbroken and guilty, too ,for not trying harder to help them. We are raising his son, since he was four days old. Just praying that he will not have our sons problems..he is sl autistic, but happy, and is a normal teen. Our son had been into body building, had lost so much weight..we knew he was sick, but nothing showed up at first..was scheduled for tests that kept being delayed..and then it was too late. He collapsed and died at the bus stop, his wife was trying to make him get up,but finally called 911.. it’s too hard just trying to get through the days for his sons sake, and my husband, too.

Hi Jennifer. I am so sorry to hear about your son, Jeff. You mention you wish you do more to help them, but it sounds to me that you did what you could and raising his son. Is there any greater gift you could have offered your son? Are you getting any help for your deep grief? Please let me know if you'd like me to send you some resources. Holding you in love and light, Susan
