มุมมอง 5809 หลายเดือนก่อน
in today's video, I head to a local canal in search of keeper Tautog. It was an amazing day as I caught well over 25 Tog, including my new PB at 19.5 inches. I used both Jigs and Rigs to catch the Tog. Spotlighted in the video was a new Jig I used from Charlie's Bucktails. The jig performed amazing and Tog were all over it. Do yourself a favor and check out Charlie's Bucktails for some awesome ...

Jigging up keeper Tautog from shore!

In today's video, I hit my favorite inlet and jigged up a keeper Tautog. It was a beautiful morning for fishing. I caught a bunch of Tautog, caught my first keeper Tog of the season and even met a couple of subscribers of our channel. The jig used in this video is a 3/4 ounce S&S John Skinner Tog Jig in the crab guts color. These are awesome Tog jigs and we suggest you check out S&S Bucktails, ...

Big tog from shore are one of the funnest fish to catch. Awesome video!
Thanks so much!
Some quality fish in this video! Subbed!
Thank you!!
Finally someone post an underground footage
“It's a beautiful day in NJ“ 💞
Do you know about where to get some oysters
Do you know where to get oysters
Regardless the size of tog, smaller hook, smaller bait. You'll outfish the person to the left and right of you. Try it. 👌
There was a ton of big ones down there in the footage
Man! All those Tog! The rocks make it happen. Yeah, don't just keep one for a sandwich. Bad karma.
Thanks for watching!!
Are they there early spring?
Spring season opens in April, it's hit or miss
Awesome Fish! Well done
Thanks so much!!!
I subscribe
Thank you!
Nice to see kids out there doing this then being stuck behind a tv love crab life
Thanks so much!!!! We appreciate you watching!!
3 years later and still helpin a newbie out. Thanks for the easy knots 😂
You're welcome!! Glad you found the video helpful. Happy New Year and tight lines!
I am going to check them out again and do a decent order. Do you still have time to go out one more time? It's a really busy month with everything else.
Thanks John!!! Use our discount code of MKOUTDOORS20, you'll get 20% off every order. I have a Tog charter on a boat in Point Pleasant the end of this month. I'm hearing the canal has really slowed up over the past couple weeks
@MKOutdoors Thanks for the discount. If you have a waterproof thermometer to check temperature you can see what temp they are biting at and predict a good or bad day. I hear the tog are now swimming to the 50-60' rocky bottoms.
Do you use a kayak to get out to the clams?
No, we just walk out and start raking. When it's dead low tide, we can walk out a few hundred yards
Is this today? Saturday?
No, couple weeks ago
Nice👍👋🎣
Where do you go clamming
Do you need a commerical license to catch clams? and watch beach is this at? Thank you!
That was awesome fishing!! Great job brother! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!

Thanks so much!!!! Appreciate you watching
Awesome, love the action!!!
Thanks buddy
I’m new to fishing for tog and did my first trip on Jetty at IBSP. Had a great time and caught so many with 2 keepers 1 16” and 1 17”. Did another trip out 2 days later on same jetty again slaying so many. Lots of 12 to 14 inchers and caught 3 keepers this time 15” and 2 17’s. I learned from talking to other fisherman out there that the bite will probably be good for another 2 weeks, they say. Based on their years of experience. That once the water hits under 50 degrees, I’m told they’re gone! I see in April the limit is 4. Are the jetties or canal as active in April as they are now in Nov? I mean, I will get out there to find out myself to load my freezer with these tasty fish, but curious.
Nice! They are an addictive fish. My favorite for sure. And yea they will be moving out to deeper water. You should jump on a party or charter boat for them. We have a charter trip coming up. And not sure about IBSP, but the point pleasant canal is pretty good in the spring. Happy you've been rewarded with keepers!! They're not an easy species to fish for. I'm still learning. Thanks for watching!!!
Great video . What where the hook and weight you where using
Hey! Thanks so much. I was using 5/0 Mustad Virginia hooks and 3 ounce sinkers
That looked fun with all those keepers, awesome stuff man!
It was definitely a day I don't get often, lol. Thanks for watching!!
Congrats on the first full limit, man. You were killin' it out there!
Hey, thanks so much man. It was definitely an awesome day. I don't get many like these, lol. Thanks for watching
She was a nice one. Now there will be more for the future. Some people keep every female, 5 in October and two 5 gallon buckets filled to the top in November.
Man I know. Its ridiculous
@@MKOutdoors I've seen this with fresh, salt, fish and crabs nonstop for decades. 3 bushels of crabs, 40 bluefish, baby porgy, 50 bluegills, 10 small stripers etc. One of the days I always talk about is when I was 10 my dad and I waited by the car for 8am to come on trout opening day. As we got close to the 13 acre pond in Verona a father and son our ages were leaving. They each had 2 or three stringers in each hand. That means 24 or 30 trout each.
@johnc6228 it's crazy man. I've called fish and game a few times at the Manasquan Inlet. Guys keeping 10 inch fluke
Is this today?
This past Friday
We’re you dropping it along the side or was there a pile out there you were pitching it to
Pitching it out to the middle. This Fall the bigger fish have been out further
Need a pliers for those hook ups. Our limit is 4 fish @16", so many fish we had to toss at 15 3/4. Black fishing is the best. Well done & an excellent day - Here is a day Black fishing with Joe and me, enjoy - th-cam.com/video/dLs20SLTnnc/w-d-xo.html 🇮🇱 🇮🇹 🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸
Great vid's. Mostly fish BI. Took a trip up to the canal, could not find a place to park other than near the Bridge Ave bridge, no parking signs. Can you suggest an area?
Time for me to make my way down again lol, i got all of next week off 👀
Let's go!!!
Yeah buddy, a limit from shore is a good thing. 👍 and so is tog chowder.
Hahaha. Yea man!!! Unbelievable day today
Hello, Mike, -A great day of tog fishing. If you were there all day you would probably catch them nonstop. I will check out those lures tonight. I bet Kaylee will be there soon to show us her skills. Take care and enjoy those fillets.
Thanks so much John. Was definitely an amazing day. I went thru 4 dozen green crabs. Left them biting
Hello Mike and Kaylee, I'm watching some videos again thinking about you all. I hope you're doing well. John

captain danielson strikes again!
HAHAHA. YES!!!!
TOETOG!!!! 😂
Just catch her again next year.
Ha! Exactly!!
Now that's FUN!!!! When I had my boat in Great Kills, I only fished Raritan Bay for Stripers, it's the best place for them in the Spring and early fall. I never had too much luck on top water, that's because I never really gave it a shot. One stick with a live Bunker, the other with a chunk, all anchored up at West Bank. - 🇮🇱 🇮🇹 🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸
Why are they allowed to keep them and not us.
Who's they?
Are they out of season?
No

Haha, thanks for watching!!
