The suburbs and the hiking areas are so beautiful, but once you venture out downtown it all changes. I loved it there the first 2 years. I had to leave when I was getting off from work and there was a shoot out in front of McDonalds and I was in the cafe across the street. I was terrified. I left LA for the same reason after 10 years. I'm on a cane so it was hard for me and it was mid-winter with ice. I couldn't find a way home, the buses were chaotic, and stuck in traffic or just not running at all. I tried catching an Uber, but my normal $15 ride from downtown to my suburb was hiked up to $100!!!! I was not about to let them rob me like that. I hid out in a hotel. My landlady, who is/was an Angel told me she would send an Uber to me and pay for it to get me home safe. I left Seattle a couple of months later.

This is what happens at the end of empires. The decay and death of a society is usually slow and deliberate. This is happening because certain people want this to happen. There is no other reason. We are all witness to the end of western society and culture. This has happened before and will happen again. Its always sad and its always preventable.

Looks very unsafe and dilapidated. Recently I visited India, still a developing nation, but was stunned by the vibrancy, colors and people. Apart from random beggar on street, didn't see a single drug addict or homeless person.
