Been reading up heaps and can't wait to go wander in the bush - kicking myself for not getting into this 20 years ago!

Honest guestion have you ever had any strange experiences that you cant explain while you have been out deep in the bush especially at night. Thanks
Early on, maybe twenty years ago I felt uncomfortable alone a few times, but now I’m just used to it and too tied to worry about anything else other than sleeping. You’re right though, being by yourself takes some getting used to.
Nice video! Good you show the hard work that goes into harvesting an animal in the bush. I was just out yesterday and dropped one. Feel buggered today after carrying it out but it is well worth it. Wild meat is the bomb!

How do you find your meat after leaving it overnight with the guts in? Is it hit or miss or generally ok? I'm doing more night shooting on a private block and would be nice if you shoot something at 3am to leave it till 8am to dress it but always been told do it asap
So long as it's not in the warmer summer months you should be fine, but on private land probably just as easy to locate and open it up to cool.

I’m not a fan at all. This was the third time in 35 years that I’ve done it. The deer was warm still, in the groin area so I didn’t take all the meat. I had the back steaks and top sides, rumps, plus a couple of other muscles made into sausages. We ate the first lot last night, it was nice. I don’t plan to leave another one out over night for a long time.
@Gumboot Guiding what time of the year Craig? As a side point though, I'm certain e in the scenario mentioned in the original question the time/meat temp difference would be similar to a recovery in steep county long range hunting. Something that's always in the back of my mind shooting/recovering during summer.

@@716freda some hunters will recognise it, some won’t. Miles too many good hunting spots have been ruined by ‘popular’ TH-camrs.
