    I just ordered this guitar. (that's why i googled it and am here:). I wonder how playability works against Jackson U.S.A guitars (3000$) & ESP (Pink Sawtooth 5000$). Ibanez finishing on this one looks amazing & Sustainiac is a killer. I was looking Schecter models at first, but found this one and DiMarzio + Sustainiac with this finish + Edge Tremolo locked up the deal. Man, that’s a killer guitar....The sustainiac is like the cherry on top for me. One question though: you seem to have it in a lower tuning, but your Trem still seems so flexible? I suppose you had to use 4 Springs? I always play in D Standart, but my Floyd bridges get sooo stiff with the added spring 😂🙈🙈

    • @DanMcCourt
      @DanMcCourt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly the trem in any guitar is fidgety. You really have to experiment and play with each method. Sometimes just tightening the screw holding the springs makes a huge difference. Sometimes adding or subtracting springs needs to happen. It just depends on what works for you and your situation. I honestly can’t remember at the moment how I have mine set up but I’m pretty sure there’s 4 springs in it. But I’ve had mine set up multiple different ways. Just find what works best for you. I just got one of these in a string-thru version for $300. It's extremely comfortable playing and sounds great. Ibanez makes great neck thru guitars. Although I wish it didn't have the reverse headstock even though it doesn't look too bad on this model. The PUs sound pretty good too and this may be one of the few guitars I won't swap the PUs on. Mine does not have scalloped frets at all and the strap buttons are in a different location. It was a bit of a challenge to find a case. I'm gonna look for the version with a trem too if I can find it at a good price. Or maybe a Jackson warrior...

      Hell yea bro Ibanez is the way to go. The way they make necks is just perfect for my hands. String thru models are nice for the extra sustain. Most likely the pick ups on your guitar are DiMarzios too so that’d explain why they kick ass. Personally the DiMarzios are the best pickups

What surprised me was how you can sit with this like a V or on your knee like normal. like this shape a lot, even more than the Warrior shape. With PUs, I've always preferred Seymour Duncans for humbuckers and Dimarzios for stacked single coils. The Nazgul and Black winter PUs are quite good for what I'm playing. These do sound better than EMGs for sure. I think it's the mahogany that makes it sing. I do wish they made a version with an ebony fretboard and neck-thru. Then it would be like a USA Warrior but possibly better

      @@Holtenstein dude! Arent Nazguls insane? The other guitarist in my band has one of those in his guitar. Talk about some serious output haha

      @@DanMcCourt Yeah I like them quite a bit. The Black winter I prefer for solos cause it has a mid-frequency that cuts. Like a really high output PAF. But the Nazgul for rhythm is fantastic. Full and darker sounding. But I've only tried it in mahogany bodied guitars so far. I've just never been a fan of the Duncan SH-4/TB-4 that comes in almost all stock Jacksons. Way too bright and just kinda meh. But some of the customs and the Duncan Distortion work pretty well for metal IMO

      @@Holtenstein I never really knew what pickups were in Jackson guitars, I just never liked them. I’m basically sold on Ibanez guitars.
