Making up the beds on a Wildax Aurora 6m van
Making up the beds on a Wildax Aurora couldn't be easier. Here I demonstrate how it can even be done with one hand holding a camera! (not recommended). The fold up rear bed is little more than a click of the release button and lower the hinged frame. The third seat/bed is a quick rotate of the driver's chair, slide the seat forward and it's all done.
No IKEA style instruction booklets and a kit of parts required!
The videos on this channel are all about motorhomes, compact vans, campervans etc and the travels I undertake, some 'how to's', vehicle and equipment reviews and the like. We will also take a look at other owners vans, talk with them and learn about the adventures they undertake.
I hope you will enjoy what you see. If there is anything you would like us to film then do leave a comment down below. All (friendly and polite) feedback will be much appreciated.

    You say to open the sliding hatch to allow air in (to avoid suction) ... the small green button beside the hatch is there for that very purpose. It is also designed so that waste water!! does not sloosh out onto the user while wrestling with the cassette over the disposal point. Do take time to read the manual prior to making your videos. Otherwise, keep up the useful work.

    Great video! Ty mine won't click in place. There is an orange flap that is preventing it from getting in place.

    • @roamwithme9684
      @roamwithme9684 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, the pesky orange flap! This flap is levered out the way as the cassette slides in, via a mechanism on the right hand side of the box. If it becomes fractionally misaligned the flap does not flip upwards enough to clear the incoming cassette. There is a DIY fix but it is difficult to explain. The alternative is the 2 person job, one inside the van holding up the flap, tho other person sliding in the cassette - mind your fingers. The DIY fix. With the cassette removed look inside the box and on the upper rhs you will see a black lever connected to the orange flap. With your left hand lift and hold the flap halfway up. Place your right thumb or finger on the outside edge of the orange connecting arm that goes through the lever ( i e reach in behind the lever,) and push the arm away from you. You won't think anything has happened but the cassette may now slide in to place. If not repeat the process, steadily increasing the amount of pressure you use. Good luck

    Thanks very useful… through testing the temperature displayed (when idle) seems to be the target temperature. I feel it would have been better for it to display the current temperature (rather than target)… have you found a way for it to display the current temperature by any chance?

    • @roamwithme9684
      @roamwithme9684 ปีที่แล้ว

      The default temp displayed should be the current van temp. After setting the target temp press the back button and it will take you to the clock and current temp display. NB The current temp reading in a van is greatly dependent on where the sensor is (which is where the installer put it!). A shaft of sunlight in the right place can temporarily send the sensed temp shooting up way above what the real temp is in the van.

    • @mikefardell
      @mikefardell ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roamwithme9684 thanks for your note, however my unit displays the target temperature, here is a short video. I’d be interested to know if yours is different. th-cam.com/video/x1mlzcvCd8A/w-d-xo.html

    • @roamwithme9684
      @roamwithme9684 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @mikefardell
      @mikefardell ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roamwithme9684 thanks… I would expect to see current temp too. I tried your suggestion to no avail. I found a manual online and that states that the “display changes between the time and the set room temperature” so I guess it’s ‘by design’ although displaying the room temperature would be much more useful (in my opinion).

    Thank you very much, very informative. I have one other problem. When the cassette is removed you can see an orange flap/handle showing at the back . This is stopping the cassette fully loading. It has become a 2 man job. One inside holding up the orange flap so that the person outside can fully insert the cassette. If we don’t do this the cassette gets stuck against the flap. Not sure how to approach this, your help would be appreciated. Martin Coyle

    • @roamwithme9684
      @roamwithme9684 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible to fix this annoying problem, but it's fiddly. Remove the cassette. Look inside the door to top right back. Identify the orange flap, the black lever that raises it and the orange pin that connects the two. Push the black lever upwards to make sure the mechanism is working correctly. Assuming nothing is broken or damaged it is likley the orange pin that has been bent a tiny amount when the cassette hit the flap; it really is a tiny amount. Reach in, try to get a finger on to the outside of the orange pin and push it away from you while a second person holds the flap half open from inside the van. Gently re-insert the cassette to learn if you have solved the problem. If not, try again, perhaps with pliers this time, but be careful not to break the plastic in the process.

      A not uncommon problem! Driving around causes air to somehow find its way back in to the system, probably by water falling back from the lift pump to the main water tank. Opening any one tap should clear it. Just listen to make sure the pump clears itself and stops after a few seconds.
