Lesson 30 Mastering Audio Demo
มุมมอง 1032 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this lesson, we take a hands-on approach to mastering audio levels for a consistent level using a combination of compressors, expanders and limiters.
Lesson 29 Mastering Audio: Compressors Explained
มุมมอง 552 หลายเดือนก่อน
Audio is the most important part of your livestream. If people can’t hear, they won’t watch. But if they can hear, they can tolerate a less than ideal visual. Therefore, improving (or mastering) your Audio is easiest way to improve your livestream.
Lesson 28 Making TV's look right on Camera when you have mixed lighting
มุมมอง 1662 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you want all of your colors to look right on camera, then all of your lights need to have the same white point. But what if you can't control the color of your main light wash? In this lesson, I'll walk you through the process of manually white balancing at TV to match the lighting in your scene so that colors look as accurate as possible on camera.
Lesson 27 Background Separation - Achieving Shallow Depth of Field
มุมมอง 812 หลายเดือนก่อน
We see Shallow depth of field everywhere. Movies, well shot interviews, And hopefully in your live productions as well.
Lesson 26 Using a Shading Panel
มุมมอง 3012 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this lesson, we'll cover the basics of how to use a remote shading panel. Topics include, Iris, Master Blacks, Filters, Gain, RGB offsets and Scene Files.
PAV Lesson 25 Intro to Scopes
มุมมอง 592 หลายเดือนก่อน
“Scopes” are a set of tools designed to visually, and objectively give us information about the brightness and color of a video signal. The most common scopes used in live production are the Waveform, Vectorscope, and RGB Parade.
Lesson 24 Steps to Exposing a Shot
มุมมอง 532 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this lesson, we'll take a step-by-step look at the decision making process when exposing a shot.
Lesson 23 Exposing for live production
มุมมอง 752 หลายเดือนก่อน
Now that we understand how exposure works, let’s apply this to live video production where we’re shooting a constant stream of images. Changing Iris impacts depth of field. Changing Shutter impacts motion blur. Changing ISO impacts noise and dynamic range.
Lesson 22 Understanding exposure The Exposure Equation
มุมมอง 602 หลายเดือนก่อน
In every camera, exposure is impacted by the following three variables; Iris, Shutter, and sensitivity. Which gives us the exposure equation. Iris Shutter Sensitivity = Exposure, measured in stops of light. EV.
Lesson 21 White Balance
มุมมอง 992 หลายเดือนก่อน
I this lesson we look at one of the most misunderstood topics of video production - white balance. To get accurate colors on camera the color temperature of the light hitting your subject and the color temperature selected in camera need to be set to the same value.
Lesson 20 Becoming A Better Director - Lessons Learned
มุมมอง 1052 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this lesson, we focus on lessons learned in a career of live production, and how to become a valuable member of the team.

Great review. What about the final recording quality? Is it same as the recording in camera?
Do you have to use an Osbot or can you use a usb adapter/ dongle for the same result
Best instruction
Nice reading from the screen :) And video also :)
It's a crime that this is free. Thank you!
Wow! Though I knew this, this is by far the best light balance instruction I have ever seen. Will definitely share not only this but other videos on this channel with others. Thanks for all your dedication and hard work!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
This is GREAT! Thanks for sharing.😊
Brother How to input text, scrolling ?
For text input, you could transfer a still image to internal storage, and for scrolling g text you’d be best served using a live computer input over HDMI. Check out ProPresenter software if you want easy to create scrolling text.
@@pavementdotmedia thankyou
Thank you for this video. After a long time found a video who provided real info. Now go pro are very advanced, should I go to latest, or go 10 is enough to record live on stage in full blown color lighting dedicated to each instrument? how about dJI action, does it work fine too? does it work with switcher or you recommend go pro?
The DJI and Insta360 cameras do not have HDMI ports, so there’s no good way of getting their signal into a switcher without significant delay on the image. Any of the recent models of GoPro should look fine. Make sure you have the media mod if you’re using anything above the Hero 7 black.
If you compare this to the Pearl Mini, there are a couple of things I wish it could do: 1) record set-ups or “layouts” as the Pearl calls them. So, if you conduct a PiP in a macro, it would be great if it could record that all the way through a day, not just when it appears in the programme or as ISOs. 2) a more reliable and sophisticated streaming function - more granularity in the settings for streaming and more reliability (I find the ATEMs tend to buffer and slow down after a while). This would make it more like the all-in-one solution it intends to be.
The question is can i simulteneously do direct streaming using the ethernet port and use the the internal encoder of atem mini pro to stream to internet
If the idea was to simply have another program out going to a monitor, would it not just be easier to use a HDMI splitter and keep the USB C port free? For example, in a recent shoot I had to use USB C 1 for my laptop to use ATEM control software, and USB 2 for my SSD to do ISO recording. So using those wouldn't be an option for me. I used HDMI output 1 for my multicam monitor, but then I had to send the program feed to multiple TV screens via HDMI output 2. Using a splitter, I was able to split 1 HDMI output 4x.
Does it come with Davinci Studio Activation key?
That only comes with cameras, unfortunately
#7 🤯🤯🤯 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I can Connect favourite NDI program or device such as Caspar CG, NewBlue Titler, Adobe CC and many more?
It has to be an NDI HX source - double check your compatibility of your source before using
Hows the temperature? Does it overheat after a certain amount of time?
This model has a fan built in so it doesn’t have any problems with overheating in my experience.
i’m so happy i ran across your page! keep doing what you’re doing these videos are soo helpful!
Brother once I saw your video I immediately knew you know your stuff and are the perfect teacher. I went to your website and unfortunately had no way to call you. So I decided to send you a message. My name is Jimmy and I need your help for setting up a small production 2 to 3 camera live and NON live recording. My situation is a lot easier of a production as I'm only filming a Craps table playing the casino game. I teach craps the dice game. I want 1 over head camera to film the dice that will display the numbers landed on from the roll against the back wall. I already setup the boom on the wall that extends 4ft out and is perfectly in the front center area to point down for dice capture. This camera will be the gopro 7 or 8. Old but I already own it. My 2nd camera will be a dji pocket 3 with a dji mic 2 clip on. It will capture the bets and be placed for that view. My final 3rd camera will be the gopro 8 to capture my face and throwing the dice. I'm basically staying in one spot will either focus on the grip of the dice view or just a overall view of my full body grabbing and releasing the throw. Right now I'm using 1 camera and just walking around the table filming as a recording and taking a single media mp4 file that is automatically sinked the audio and just uploading straight to TH-cam for my recorded videos. I also live stream directly using my dji 3 camera as a webcam and go live directly to TH-cam with no 3rd party software. I do know the basic features of obs studio. I use obs only for device capture when I'm recording something with my laptop screen. Example a simulation game I use ad a tutorial of a new strategy I'm showing. It's very easy and it's not live. I just capture it in obs ad a recording and use clip champ to do a really simple edit of the beginning and ending to remove the recording on and off footage. What I'm interested in is this and requesting your help. I need to know which switcher from your experience to purchase that would allow a multi camera way to do as a recorded video where it's one easy file. Also that will allow me to stream live directly to TH-cam. I'm not sure if I would need to use obs to setup sources and scenes or if the switcher allows me to simply plug the 3 cameras in and either record or live stream directly to TH-cam?? If you can take the time to provide a list of what equipment switcher and accessories like cables, etc. Needed I will order them ASAP. Also if you can provide a price you would charge me to do a Skype or messenger or other way for you to live talk to help setup and teach me how to setup. Once I learn I can understand exactly the switcher and functions. Also maybe your advice on the camera settings that will look best. If you go to my channel now you will see my craps videos I'm filming it's basic I want to have the best production where when I release the dice I simply hit the switcher button and it shows the camera on the dice landing. I can have the switcher on my craps table. Really appreciate it and look forward to hearing from you.
You can rearrange the previews
Correct. Preview and program can swap, but not the individual sources as of the current firmware.
Is this still an issue on Resolve Studio 19? I have a feeling with the new Replay integrations the would have corrected this.
It’s supposed to be addressed with a firmware update, but as far as I know, has not been updated yet. I’ve heard it’s on the roadmap
I have a GoPro 11 to use for our baptisms to show on the projection screens and our livestream. How can I get the power icon and sd card icon to not show?
To turn off the On Screen Display (OSD) on a GoPro Media Mod HDMI output, you can: 1. Press the mode button a few times until you reach the last icon, which looks like an eye 2. Select the icon by pressing the shutter button
3:55 😅😅 Highly Concentrated me!
I might have to try verbally elongating the word dissolve for longer duration dissolves. That's a neat idea.
Thats a great little product and you did a very clear presentation of it. Very useful! I'm looking a ton of things to see how much running a hybrid meeting (in the field) can be cleaned up. I think all the technical aspects are there, but no one has yet developed a NEW more compact and elegant solution. I have run such meetings in stationary control rooms that are effortless. Mobile solutions are a whole other thing. Oh BTW when will someone create a switcher software interface to go head to head with Tricaster but at affordable for the masses prices?
Great review. Thanks. Subbed.
Thanks for the sub!
Hey! Can I input a computer thru AUX to use it as caracters generator for more complex lower thirds? So I can record everything ready on the SD Card...
Yes, that’s totally possible!
Nicole wilkerson
Nice video. Thank you! I would love to know how to get the software. Is that something you can point me towards?
Windows software dyor.ru/gsdwinsoft110.zip Mac software dyor.ru/gsdmac111.dmg Current firmware dyor.ru/gsdfw213.zip
Really great video; I did not know you could save stream keys to a text file. Also, I cannot see the thumbs up button... is this a new TH-cam update?
Great device, I’m looking at 5 inch as a low mode monitor for Steadicam… can you burn in a LUT, not just monitor, can it also burn the LUT in?
Yes, you can toggle this option in the menus.
any 4k signal? does that include the notorious FS700?
I believe it can. It's been a long time singe I used a FS700 - great camera back in the day before the FS7!
@@pavementdotmedia I checked, and it can't :/
Grate Video, Thank you. What would be good switcher with 4K and HDR Livestreaming capabilities to TH-cam.
Sir mix effect pro Conact atem extreme ja iso
Great! with the 9.5 uptade we can route the USB output...
Yes you can!
With the Mini pro indeed. Not sure about the simple Atem Mini
Y'all just show how to use these stuff. We really need to know how to hook them up too. Please
Thanks for the reply! The best way to set it up is on a small dedicated network with manual IP's.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Can the Blackmagic Video Assist make changes/control, as if it were an ATEM, to Blackmagic Micro Studio 4K G2?
It can’t. But a lot of people have asked for this feature
@@pavementdotmedia That is a bummer because the buttons are a b×tch to utilize with my sausage fingers.
New update with ATEM Switcher Software 9.5. You can choose what to output via the webcam!
Did you successfully install 9.5? Mine has failed 4 times today
@@pavementdotmedia I had no problems on an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. I'll be doing our SDI Extreme ISO this evening.
Could you get away with pulling focus with the 5"?
I think it’s totally possible. Some AC’s may disagree (saying you need a 14” or bigger for critical focus) but for run and gun, I would say go for it. Only major drawback of the 5” is the micro BNC’s in my opinion
if you change button 8 from a camera to supersource, does the 8 button up by the Aux output selectors now send supersource down the aux?
Great comprehensive video! How do you deal with GoPros' short battery life? Use an external battery? Are GoPros capable of being run on AC power?
Thanks! Yes, use external power like your phone charger. I’ll often create a loom with the HDMI and USB cable together to keep things tidy.
❤❤❤ Good 👍 Job 😊
Great video bud, I might have to pick one of these up. Edit: just bought one.
That’s great! I think you’re going to like it!
Thanks for suggesting the multiview layout, we'll try to make it happen later. I don't like that the input 4 is covered by the menu, either.
Does this work with live streaming suites like stream hard?
if it sends 1080p60… how does the video looks? is it choppy? how is the conversion made? if it doesnt look choppy with dubling the frames than its a great solution!
This would work great for the Osee Gostream 😁
Thats not an ATEM mini.
omg finally someone explains it properly
I wish it had some camera controls built-in, so self-recorders could adjust ISO, white balance, and trigger auto-focus from in front of the camera. Thankfully I can do those things with Bluetooth+ or an ATEM, but it's odd that it's not built-in.
There have been a lot of requests for this, especially with the need for a top monitor on the new PIXIs 6k camera. Hopefully this is something that could be added but I wouldn’t hold my breath
@@pavementdotmedia At least you can use Bluetooth+, but you'd think that since you can control so many features through a simple API, there would be no doubt that their own hardware would support it. Even their ATEMs can adjust all sorts of settings through buttons or through their software, and that's just through HDMI. 12G should be able to handle far more than that. Time will tell.
It's intentional.. at some point it will be possible, and we'll pay extra. Apple.think.legacy.
