Little Round Schoolhouse
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 11 พ.ย. 2019
My name is Becca Lane and I opened the doors of Little Round Schoolhouse over a decade ago. We began as a small school program deeply inspired by Waldorf Education. I combine my Lifeways education with Waldorf education and Simplicity Parenting to offer a program balanced in body, mind, and spirit. Our local program still runs today and serves children ages 3-7 and their families. In addition to this program, we offer programs and services to children and families around the world via our online courses, group coaching, and one-on-one coaching and mentoring.
Little Mouse's New House: A Waldorf-inspired puppet show about moving for early childhood
This story from Little Round Schoolhouse ®, Little Mouse's New House, is a pedagogical or teaching tale for young children. In this story, little mouse learns he has to move to a new house. This is a good story to share with children about moving.

Connection: the foundation of learning in Waldorf early childhood
มุมมอง 2123 ปีที่แล้ว
In Waldorf early childhood and preschool, we often hear about delayed academics. This video explains why we don't turn our Storytime field trips into science lessons. Instead of focusing on "learning opportunities," we focus on "connecting opportunities." As parents and caregivers, we can focus on cultivating connection between our child and the world around them. Connection is not the opposite...
Waldorf Colors of the Day
มุมมอง 2.3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In Waldorf early childhood education we often hear about the colors of the day and using them instead of the days of the week. In this video, I introduce you to the idea of using the colors of the day in your life as a way to begin to develop rhythm. Many families have found Storytime to be an anchor in their daily rhythm. Storytime in the Schoolhouse® is a Waldorf-inspired program for early ch...

Thank you soo much
This was very informative and helpful. Thank you!
I absolutely love this! Thank you!
🌿🍁 Hi Becca, This is my first video of yours that I’m watching. I can’t wait to go onto your blog and see the others. You’re doing such a lovely job sharing your wisdom . you’re so calm and you make it seem doable which I’m sure it is if we put 1 foot in front of the other and take it step-by-step. I just had to compliment you because I’ve been looking for something like this. I have a Waldorf inspired daycare, and our rhythm is not where I wanted it to be so ~ thank you so much. 🌿🍁 Kindest regards all around, ~ Nelle
This is an amazing video! So clear and helpful. Thank you!
These are great points and really made me think thanks!

Love all your videos!

Where can I find Lantern Walk video #1?
Thank you for this fantastic idea. I'm new to waldorf education. It's been so much fun learning and collecting as I go on this journey.
I'm 15 and I obey my mom to the max, she is the one that is in total control. Everyday, I come home from school and the 1 st thing I do, is give her my phone...don't want any distractions, then I do my homework, then all the chores for that day, which must be done to my moms satisfaction. Then I do whatever she tells me to do with no back talk or arguing. On the weekends, I do want she wants me to do, Before I have my "Free time"
Thank you for your videos, I have only seen a few, but this is is just what I've been looking for. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! Much Love 💕
Thank you. .Blessings to you .
So lovely. You made me feel like I was there.
Excellent point about the observing part of learning
I love how melodic is the way you speak, eases out a lot with wholesome processing of the info you’re sharing. thank you for sharing! this is a good reference to learn from.
Agree
Gamechanging video. I have been struggling with myself to try to figure out rhythm. You nailed it. I would create this whole elaborate idea and think I could put it all into play and bam too hard too much and fail and burn out. It makes so much sense to just build onto the rhythm step by step by making one change at a time. Thank you so much for breaking down so simply my main obstacle because I totally looked on social media and then felt overwhelmed because I could not replicate this beautiful rhythm. I do have Pancakes on Sunday night! Regularly. Also do you have any advice for any alternating rhythms. Our dad person works a flip flop schedule where he's off MWF one week and TW the next week. ALSO I was so happy I wanted to cry about your neurodivergent comment. I am neurodivergent and have a child that is also. Thank so so much I am so glad I stumbled across this! Thank you Thank you Thank you! <3 Much love to you also!
Give thanks to the mother Earth. Give thanks to the father Sun. Give thanks to the flower and the veggies and the garden where the mother andthe father are One.
get a mic! :)
yay we love ya
Thank you for this ❤
Hello, can you please suggest few games or crafts for a 5 years 7 months old girl child. I am new to waldorf we are learning knitting, handwork, following rhythm, wet on wet, coloring with 3 colors, she will help me little bit in household chores. But she is still learning how to keep herself occupied we can't play with her all the time it becomes really difficult. She is awesome, however she wants us all the time. No friends no grandparents, we go for a walk. I understand she wants us to be with her but... Not all the time. Sorry if you feel it's inappropriate comment then ignore. Thanks.
Thank you for this! I think our first daily anchor that I plan to set is a morning walk right after breakfast. I have two little ones who love getting outside, but it's near 100 degrees here in the afternoon. So a morning walk and playtime will be perfect.
Yes! We loved having a walk right after breakfast. I even know families who eat a muffin or smoothie (something simple) and then go for a walk and come back and have a bigger breakfast. We would eat breakfast, clean up the meal, and go for a walk. Then we came back and had a snack and did read aloud.
