He was strong enough to think he was the best, but not enough to actually be, which led to his awesome character development in 2.4. I've never wanted to be a fictional character as much as I do with Jingyuan and Baizhu, just to be Yanqing and Qiqi's parent XD Can't wait to see him win the wardance in 2.5 (please Hoyo, I'm begging you!!). Venti doesn´t "control" his nation the way other archons did. He can´t stand at the top and tell everyone what to do that would completle be the opposite of what he is. He is the god of freedom. Mondstadt is the land of freedom. The people of Mondstadt are free to do what they want. they could stop believing in Barbatos and the wind all together but they still to this day beliefe in both and the freedom they represent. And Venti is still there to help stop dangers for mondstadt if it is necessary. this all together in my mind makes a good case that Venti isn´t as weak as he wants us to beliefe.
