Amazing how you did relief cuts under those wet set brackets
Where would.i buy the brackets?
I would not trust dry set without sheathing the entire building. They do not offer enough uplift, shear or moment resistance compared to wet sets, perma columns, or the traditional post in the ground. That is what sets pole barns apart is that a bulk of your moment, shear and uplift strength comes from the fact that you typically have posts 4-6 ft in the ground. There are several reputable companies that have pulled away from using dry sets without sheathing which at that point you're basically a traditional stick frame house.
That is sexy way to do it for sure
Why are they better than just using a Simpson bracket?
Dont bother with hiring these ppl. I called 5 or 6 times over 3 months and NEVER heard back. Business must great to never bother calling back new customers.
I’m down in Texas and would like to know how to do that foundation. Do you put rebar in the holes you dig? Do you bell it out at the bottom?
thats the dream
I’m curious about the pier and pad foundation. My feels the slab can move everywhere except where the piers are. How do you keep the pad from cracking and breaking frost heave?
Was wondering that as well
Monolithic slab?
What's insulation of choice?
Who spray foams the underside of a roof in 2023? Please comment because the guy makes no sense.
Every one that's not living under a rock. We are in 2023 almost 2024 get with the times.
You spray foam a ceiling bubs. Very bad idea for only one reason which trumps all the good reasons to do it. Smh
You make absolutely no sins with that statement bun:)
@@midkansaspolebarns2875hehe you soray foamed a ceiling in a pole barn bubs. Hahahaha makes no senseyour clueless hahahaha not sure you know this but you soray foamed a ceiling in one of your orevious videos I couldnt comment on because of the kids thing. Make sense?
Those are not wet-sets.
i had to find a place to comment about your fuel pump video lol.. pretty much every single thing you said in that video is wrong, your using fuckin marrets under the truck, the fuse panel is called a tipm hahaha not a tpems, etc etc etc.. no wonder you turned the comments off. and if u want to help someone, at least help them with correct info man lmfao!!!!!!
These are not “wet set”
Beautiful building, and it is insulated. I could get my truck in there, way to go. 👍👍👍. 10-3-2023
Please verify Side walls 14’ and center is 19’?
Do you have any trusses certified for those of us up north in the snow belt? Gotta hold 42lbs/sqft For a 50ft wide span, plus eve overhang...can always go on 8ft centers instead of 10ft...
Use 2x4 side boards? Isn't 2x6 boards better?
You can use whatever you want bud!!
by using the peracolumn wet set on piers without a concrete slab added- is there anyway to get the skirt board low enough to eliminate the gap under the barn siding? could you set the columns a few inches below grade or would that be considered wood in the ground and defeat the purpose of the bracket system?
Could there be issues with frost when the ground freezes pushing on the slab since there is no full foundation wall and the fact the piers are tied to it and below the frost line? The piers are not going to move and the slab may with frost heave in the winter. Are there any issues with it cracking at corners and/or where the piers meet the slab? Thanks
Nope no issues at all that's actually one of my friends buildings we built so im over there all the time.
Did you set the post in before or after you poured the concrete
We set them Before the concrete. Thanks
This is a beautiful shop. Is there a way to be directed to where to find the trusses and supports as I'm in Utah? Thank you.
Please call my office Just Google Mid Kansas Pole Barns Ask for Rusty
Did the spray foam stick to the tyveck? How did you keep the tyveck from melting?
Really nice job!
Thank you
Do you guys work in California and how much did this building cost
No sorry
Sweet!
Love the building hate the colors
Do you build in E Tennessee ??
No sorry
I’m in GA, have a newly erected 30x50 tubular steel building, and they didn’t lap my siding past the concrete slab, so the bottom of my siding stops even with the concrete of my slab. I’m getting water inside my building in a couple of places where rain water is splashing back up and under my bottom steel floor rails. What is this trim piece called and can it be purchased at a Home Depot or Lowes, or where can I get it?
It's called rat guard ( base trim) I would think they would care it
Thank you for replying. I had googled rat metal building trim guard rat guard and wasn’t finding it at a chain retailer. I’ll have to see if I can find someone in metal building construction locally that can get it for me. Maybe we call it something different down here. Thanks again, it was a very informative video that I found when searching how to stop water from coming in my metal building and found your video, and I appreciate you taking the time to upload it. At least it got me headed in the right direction.
Looks amazing! Did you do all of the construction or was the interior of the house completed by a different contractor?
We did 100% of the build. Building and interior
I need two 60x100 trusses
Email me Midkansaspolebarns@yahoo.com Thanks
Thanks I got his email now.
Curious to know what those trusses are called?
where in Kansas are you. I am near St. Marys KS weighing a metal metal or pole barn.
Love the video. Would you recommend these for an open pole barn? No walls per say. What’s the max height?
Yep I sure would I believe you would be fine going to 16' tall however you should put some x bracing in the walls in a couple of bays
@@midkansaspolebarns2875 ok thanks. I have 8x8x16 and pole barn metal trusses. Thanks
What do you do with the tires after cutting them just curious. Do you make something out them ?
If they are cut up into 4 sections The landfill will take them for free
@@midkansaspolebarns2875 nice I’ve been looking for new uses for them seen this th-cam.com/video/uyg12BpFhiU/w-d-xo.html
@@midkansaspolebarns2875 I sent ya a email on a estimate on a building to like what you guys are doing
I haven't gotten yet Did you send it to Midkansaspolebarns@yahoo.com
How much?
We only work in kansas
Hello, What is the final cost of your building...? A break-diwn would be nice. Thank yiu for your Time, Greg
I have a 6" slab would that be sufficient for these brackets
No sir you'd have to have a pier under your slab under your slab to make it work properly
So I have a question so are the steel post and trusses cheaper than laminated and what is the cost thank you
No sire steel is more. You will need to email me midkansaspolebarns@yahoo.com
Could I use this on a 6" thick slab
Yes. You don't have to do a monolithic pour. You could just pour your piers first, set up everything else and pour your concrete last.
How do you cut the corners so the fold right?
How do u do the corners where they meet?
show rat guard corners
I’d like that exact building for an airplane hanger and one for residential. I’m 1600 miles west of Kansas
By 50 does that mean you can 5 cars inside of it?
What's the wind load rating on this building?
Love the insulation. That is gonna be very cost efficient on Temps inside
This is the system of foundation I imagine. But can you build a house like this? I would like to build a pole-barn house.
Commonly referred to as barndominiums nowadays. Post frame construction has been around for centuries. Developments recently have been post longevity.
Check out RR Buildings on TH-cam.
How do you keep moisture out?
RR has build up north and are different then the south like Texas. I’m having a hard time finding out what foundation to go with on my post frame house.
