I am currently 34 weeks pregnant. I did have a planned c-section a year and a half ago. I did have placenta previa in my last pregnancy. That's why it was a planned c-section. I wasn't expecting to get pregnant so soon after my last delivery. But it happened. Being that i am 34 weeks, I was told that if I should go into labor between now and 40 weeks. I immediately need to go to the hospital as a precaution so I can be monitored and avoid a uterus rupture and any complications.

I know this is an old story but if you read this 😢I want to tell you…I also lost my uterus and ovaries at a young age but I will always be grateful for the two children I did have and time does help and just enjoy your children you do have 🙏

You’re doomed if you do and doomed if you don’t when it comes to VBAC vs elective c-section. I’m about to have a c-section in 2 weeks because of previous complications resulting in an emergency c-section and people always ask me why.. Why is mostly none of their business BUT I tell them the truth, it’s because I have trauma around having babies, unresolved ptsd and choosing what some might call “the easy route” (having a c-section isn’t the easy route but I’m sure you’ll get what I mean), has made me feel better and more at ease with this whole experience. There’s risks to both sides…. Anything can go wrong VBAC or c-section and that’s not your fault. People telling you that it’s your fault for choosing a VBAC are the most stupidest people ever.

Currently 15 weeks pregnant with my second baby and as soon as I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted to try for a VBAC. My first birth was extremely traumatic. Failed induction, preeclampsia, infections, high fever, covid, and ended up in an emergency c-section. My OB is very supportive of my decision with this baby of doing either or but knowing uterine rupture is a thing and there are so many risks that come with it makes me want to just do a repeat c-section even though it isnt what I really want. Stories like these are the ones that make me fear the last trimester of this pregnancy. I can't even enjoy it.😔 I am so happy that everything turned out ok with you and babygirl!🫶🏼

Only 6-15% of uterine ruptures have devastating effects. I’m not sure why that doctor said otherwise. You are not selfish!

We as women need to educated ourselves when it comes to birth. This is terrifying and the professionals were so negligent. It's unfortunate we cannot just blindly trust medical professionals, but we're all human. Doing the most research you can when it comes to pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum will help decrease the number of unfortunate circumstances. The more medical interventions you have when it comes to labor and birth, the more things will start to go wrong. One intervention leading to another and another. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Your experience sounds so difficult. I hope you continue healing physically and emotionally, and that you can release yourself from feelings of guilt for choosing a VBAC. I am a midwife and remembered looking up statistics on uterine rupture… I remembered that it is most often not fatal for the mother, and that neonatal death is about 6%. I quickly Googled and found that 6% statistic again.

Ok take a deep breath - your young… take care of yourself take care of your babies & be grateful for your family… your future is not set, and maybe things will turn out better then planned - PLEASE HAVE FAITH hold on to the good… you are strong 💪🏼

As a nurse, I feel that your care was grossly mismanaged from the moment the nurse saw the catheter bag full of blood and the doctor did nothing. IMO they should have immediately taken you to the OR and delivered your daughter by C-section followed by repair (or at least stabilization) of the ruptured organs. I know you can't discuss it, but I hope that you've filed a malpractice suit. And should you decide in the future that you want another child, a gestational carrier could be an option for you.

It never has made sense to me why they give Pitocin to someone who has had a c-section. There is nothing natural about the contractions from Pitocin. It increases the likelihood of rupture even if you haven’t been cut. My heart goes out to you. 💛

Generally, inductions are not recommended with VBACs. It sounds like your birth team was incompetent. So sorry that you went through this!

I know this is 4years later and you may not see this but Thank you so much for this video! Thank God and Bless you and your family! There are not too many videos on this subject from real ppl with experiences and you have answered so many questions and concerns that my OB and PCP did not tell me. I’m currently pregnant with our rainbow baby. I have two previous c-sections due to breeched babies and I am pushing so hard for a VBAC this time. My OB just look at me like no, why, just do a C section but not telling me why!! You are a blessing to all women and men that have had this experience or that maybe hoping for a VBAC! Thank you for your story, your honesty, and your strength to tell the world!! You are incredible!!

I tried for a vbac for baby #2 & it wasn't successful, but CS was smooth. Baby #3 was a planned CS. I'm thankful I had 3 CS. VBACS I guess aren't a good idea. Happy you and your daughter are fine.

Thanks for sharing your story! Listened to every word. I can imagine the decision to have kids being taken away. First 2 births happened in hospital and this time we decided for home birth. Medical interventions and making my wife fit their timeline is what cause my wife go under the knife. Inducing her was a big mistake and the synthetic drug puts unnatural stress on uterus and it just spiraled from there. This time it's a HBAC 2 and have such peace about it. I am thankful for your story and will take away lots from it, almost like a "what signs to look out for" if that's okay to say. It's easy to think it's all rosey but you have to also plan for the unexpected.

Awwww, try to join a support group,so you can be emotionally supported. Also i think your uterus ruptured happened because you said you had a prior c-section, and with that being said,they wasn't supposed to do that. They could had try with the non hormonal water base instead. Because that was told to me when i went in at 39 weeks because i had an prior c-section as well. Those doctors at that hospital could had avoided all of this,by telling you the truth. Because you had a previous c-section. It's best to opt out to get the induction. I pray god bless you with more children in the future in Jesus name and you just keep the faith.

Wow. I attempted the VBAC. 17 months after my first C-section. I was laboring but then after induction baby heart wasn’t tolerating it. Went in for the C-section. The Dr told me that the scar tissue from the uterus and my bladders was actually tearing. C-section ended up being a good thing. My first was vaginal. But coming to terms with I will now have to have a C-section if I get pregnant again. Having trouble with breast milk. But yet still desiring another baby has been a lot to take in. I hate C-section recovery. I wanted to have I medicated birth but hearing your story is making my jaw drop because I feel like this could have been me if I fought them. Thank god your here!

i feel so bad for you i hope Thing's start to get better and just un option if you really really want to have another baby you could get a surrogate(someone who carrys your baby for you)Many people who can't carry a baby Themselves get a surrogate. i pray that everything will get better for you have a good day/night.

I'm listening to this and so much of it seems improbable. I'm not even a gyn, and I kind of wonder if whoever what's supposed to be taking care of you was either!! It's insane! Everyone seemed to miss obvious!! This is how and why America lets women die in childbed. You were fumbled! These a holes are doing CT on you before ultrasound?! 😡 That said, do you have a weak contractions knowing that you're trying to VBAC? 🤨🤨⁉️🧐 That was not advised. If you talk to that urogyn they would have never suggested you try to VBAC.

I am so sorry that this happened to you but I’m happy that both you and baby are healthy. I would like people who are watching to know that this is very rare though. I had a VBAC nearly two months ago and my babies were only 16 months apart. Unfortunately sometimes people don’t heal as they should but that is rare so I hope no one is discouraged in attempting a VBAC since It’s so much better than a repeat C-section (most of the time)!

My hospital won't induce for VBAC because it increases the risk of uterine rupture. It's hard to fathom how this team did not seem to take your symptoms and pain more seriously and connect the dots.

You need to join a support group

You can absolutely hire a surrogate

Her head turned that way was a “acynclitic posterior” position….! I had a vbac at home with my first like that…. It was a crazy experience.

There are women that have spontaneous uterine ruptures during their first labor. THEY DIDNT CHOOSE THAT. Choosing to VBAC is agreeing that risks are worth it. Choosing to VBAC without informing yourself of the BIGGEST risk does not mean you didn't choose it. You took a calculated risk and this was the outcome of your actions. Very sad, you did not deserve it. But lets not act like it was a random thing that happened to your body :(

I am sorry that you had to go through everything that you did. I would like to respectfully correct you on some terms that you are using concerning what you had done. You in fact did have a total hysterectomy. A partial hysterectomy leaves the cervix. If they remove the ovaries, uterus and the cervix that is called a total hysterectomy with oophorectomy. The term hysterectomy means only the uterus, oophorectomy means removal of the ovaries. For example I had a total abdominal hysterectomy. Which means that my surgery was done with a large incision through my c section scar. My ovaries were left.

In my country (where medicine is actually fucked up) it's forbidden to induce after CS or any surgery that leaves scar on the uterus because induced contractions are much stronger than the natural ones and there is a high risk of rupture or extreme bleeding. I know exactly because a friend of mine was sheduled for a cs after, i think, 40 weeks on case she wouldnt go into labour herself bc. her first son was born via. cs and they refused to induce her.

To be honest, I think the epidural probably diminishes a bodies ability to push safely 😢 I think we fear natural pain when we should be more fearful of the complications of medical interventions. IMO So sad that you had such a traumatic birth experience 😢
