Good topic. I've played since before BR was released so I'm a Save the World player who plays BR occasionally. I've found its easier to make friends on the StW side and play BR with them, instead of vice versa.
As a more comp player, I understand most of the casual perspectives and I respect it a lot. At this point in the game I feel like I couldn’t even play casually even if I wanted to because even playing zero build with my friend I find too many really good players and in builds… OH MY SO MANY SWEATS. I also want to point out that playing with random in chapter 1 and early chapter 2 was much better than nowadays cause people end up not having a mic, being super young, or being toxic. It used just be a bunch of us kids tryna have fun and vibe with whoever we got matched up with. Overall Great video!
The whole unique thing about fortnite is building, it shouldnt be about the gunplay, yes gunplay is important but then it becomes like just any other shooter and dies off
I must be your exact clone. I’m casual and started playing with my nephew in chapter 2 since he was having a hard time in school. Love the game, sometimes I’m up, sometimes I’m down. But I always play solos because I really don’t want to play with kids. I’m a teacher so to me that’s just weird.
To me, zero build is a lot harder than build mode as a casual player. It’s really easy to get sprayed and whenever someone builds a mansion, I either run away while they build it, crash through it, or hide somewhere inside it and wait for them to turn a corner to get shot. I have a friend that still plays, but I never do as well when I play with him. I can focus more during solos, but it’s more fun to play with him. My biggest issue is whenever some super sweaty dude doesn’t let you have fun or dance or anything because he just kills you instantly, and that happens a lot. I mostly agree with all of your other points
through the eyes of a casual thats been playing for pure fun since season 4 (absolutely loved playground and creative), this game is just too complicated now, they have a whole metaverse now and im not at all a fan of it, the game has awful movement now and the new season felt like an ad for singers, not that great of a game anymore, its seriously too realistic now, and building IS DEFINENTLY harder now, someone gets on top of me within 3 seconds seriously
I honestly recommend Save The World for build training/ learning to trust randos per say, plus the actual lore is pretty awesome and keeps its original art style, only ick is paying for the game mode.
Ill play with ya! Unashmed1_16 im once again addicted to this game and have been playing with my buddy almost everynight. Been playing since season 4 of OG and its been my online game ever since. Their is still a lot of value to this game imo. Great video!
I've been playing pretty consistantly since Chapter 2 Season 5, and I'd say this is the best state the game was in ever. The variety of modes are such a luxury, Zero Build especially. Chapter 5 was so fun imo and I cant wait for Chapter 6.
I feel like zero build should be replaced with no turbo builds. The whole point of fortnite is building and making forts, hence the name, and removing it just kinda defeats the point of the whole game
Not a bad take but zero build has been out for a while and just as how I wouldn’t want casuals to “ruin” builds by removing turbo builds, I wouldn’t want to do the same to a mode thats already been well established
Hey man, great video with a detailed breakdown of the situation! I've always considered myself a casual player, but I never felt like switching to Zero Builds. To me, Fortnite without building just isn't the same game. Even though I can't build or edit well, I still stick to builds. When I face a better player who builds quickly, I try to close the skill gap by outsmarting them. For example, I predict their movements and take my shot before they have time to react. I'm usually successful whenever my aim is on point-in other words, when I hit my shots, I usually win fights.
When I first started playing Fortnite, I got into the game back in chapter 1 season three because it was popular and I hadn’t really ever played a shooter before, What got me hooked on the game was when they had the meteor and the rocket and all that and I think it was very interesting that a popular AAA game was taking notes from Indy games like five nights at Freddy’s and putting its own live service multiplayer twist on it with the inclusion of this lore I took a break from the game after season nine because the game is starting to get really sweaty and the map started getting really ugly compared to chapter 1 season three I think season nine was the worst map season 10 was only better because they brought back Dusty Depot and the factories I think I came back to the game around the marvel season because one of my friends who’s more competitive but not very good was getting angry at the game because he was dying to marvel mythic and I thought that was really funny that he was getting mad I never really found any of the OP stuff to be the annoying parts of Fortnite. I always thought it was more of a sweat problem And people spend too much time on the game to be Good I think what got me hooked again on the game Was the Galactus event and how they improved their event, skills and quality and the trailer for chapter 2 season five put into perspective And Mainstreaming the storyline in an easy to follow an immersive way This is the game subject, explaining why things in the game happen how they work and it felt like a more immersive way of bringing random silly Collabs and different things into the game rathet then just adding things I think my favorite period of playing the game was chapter 2 season seven the alien season all the way until chapter 3 season two the season where they added zero build and tanks This is when I got a lot of my newer friends on Fortnite, who never really tried the game out because they thought it was competitive from the beginning We were super invested in the characters and the worldbuilding of Fortnite and it still kind of had a charm to it. It was a different charm from chapter 1, but it was still a really good charm Chapter 2 and three had I think after chapter 4 came out, Fortnite started taking a really weird direction where there are more focused on advertising different collaborations as well as their own engine in Fortnite over having an immersive world and a cartoony, but simple style because the chapter form map Was vibrant, but also extremely complicated cluttered and clunky in the way the map was made, and i was not a fan of it It really brought me back to win. They started adding a bunch of stuff to the chapter one map that made it look really ugly and unpleasant to look at. The lack of events and a clear story as well made chapter 4, my least favorite chapter of the game because of the lack of immersive and clear mainstreamed storytelling. The laziness of chapter 4 in my opinion, kind of culminated with OG I wasn’t really a fan of OG because they kind of pulled the nostalgia card instead of trying to innovate what made the game successful in the beginning and making something new out of it I Also didn’t really like the live event Since it was a remake of an old event and didn’t follow up on any storylines and just a big ad for different things was pumping out in chapter 5 Chapter 5, however, kind of felt like a return to form in the beginning with some minor bumps on the road, like the avatar Collab and Star Wars collaborate after in season two Walt chapter 5 graphics took a more serious/realistic turn. I think I like the map more. Because it had a much more simple structured to it Chapter 4, Chapter 5 map kind of reminds me of the chapter 2 map with a European twist on it I think season three was my favorite out of the four seasons in chapter 5, because they felt like they were firing down all cylinders with wacky, chaotic, gameplay, memorable characters, a pretty easy to follow storyline and a pretty decent live event for the resources they have currently to do events I think my weird like distaste for chapter 5 was when they did the prelude event for chapter 2 remix after the doctor doom event me and my friends were all anticipating his return at some point we originally thought he was gonna be back for Fort Nightmares because all the beacons were shooting pumpkins out and that he would come through one of those rifts, but we didn’t see him so we assumed he would be back before the end of chapter 5, but then they had the The remix event and it kind of felt like a slap in the face to all that build up for chapter 5 storyline and how much they undermined, Dr. doom saying how powerful he was through different characters being dead on the map and then not really following through with how powerful we was like, maybe return or something stronger and more powerful and do something to the map that would send us to chapter 2, but that didn’t happen And I’m kind of on my last link for hoping for the storyline for chapter 5 because of the voice lines and my possible theory that the chapter 2 remix is actually an illusion caused by Pandora box, but I don’t know how much I can believe that theory, considering we’re kind of slapped in the face with chapter 2 remix being a big ad for rappers and artists over a faithful adaptation of chapter 2 I don’t find interest in chapter 6 because from what I’m hearing, we’re going to be getting another Japanese season like mega from chapter 4, which I thought was one of the furthest themes that you could do for a season. I feel like anime seasons doesn’t really make sense With Fortnite and It’s style I also don’t really find interest in OG returning permanently Because because it feels like it’s ruining the continuity and immersive Ness of being on a single island that’s constantly evolving and changing I find it harder to be invested with the characters and the world of Fortnite when none of the modes are extra things that they have been adding to the game make any Continuital Sense. I don’t think the game isn’t fun like Fortnite hasn’t really not been fun apart from a few seasons like primal or season nine But I feel like the charm and magic of Fortnite kind of feels dead and I feel like OG returning permanently it’s going to kill the magic of battle Royale almost entirely They might continue the story of chapter 5 and possibly bring back other characters according to teasers and leakers, but I don’t know if it’ll ever go back to being was pre-chapter 4 which I think was probably the best time period of Fortnite because most seasons they were firing down, almost all cylinders And now we rarely get that feeling that season fires down all cylinders find a TH-camr to watch I think TH-camrs Like klarque Klint And clen Are good TH-camrs for the casual side of the community as well as the storyline side of the community that it was more invested in the live events and the immersion Fortnite gameplay
I just hope ch 6 goes back to story and lore. That makes the game more immersive and fun to me along with a great battlepass. I could care less about collabs.
The thing that upsets me the most is that the building is actually fun when it isn't some button smashing competition. Building cover/ base to hold an area is fun. I'm still waiting for a restricted build mode. Like having low mats and no turbo building/edits
I have to agree with you. I come from Chapter 1, and so I obviously got used to builds. The thing is, since the Zero Build introduction, I refused to play it, and stick with Builds until more or less Chapter 4 Season 4. You know, I have a PC to play on, and I switched to Switch (pun not intended) because of some problems with my computer. After a while, I decided it was time to come back to PC, and I tasted builds after so long. Before anything, I wanna make my point clear and say that I was never a very good builder. But the level I found when I decided to return was just overwhelming, yes, around Chapter 5. The skill gap is huge, and it's very frustrating to play builds nowadays. I'm right now enjoying very much Reload in Zero Builds as a casual, this game mode has just been amazing, and the Desert Drop has made it even better. It's sad that builds have become such a wall to play the game to people like me, I mean, that's what made this game big and different, but at least I'm happy that we have other ways to still be playing around. Good video honestly, sometimes not having a draft is better cause it lets you take out what you are feeling deep inside about what you're talking about.
Issue is sbmm and bots. Id like to say 70% of the playerbase is in bot match time out, and 20% are in skill brackets above their actual skill. Theres no reason to have bots and sbmm in a mode that originally gained popularity because it matched 100 random players in a big arena for the best man to win. Especially shouldnt have sbmm in a casual mode when you also have a ranked mode that has a much better sbmm system. Shame epic wont do anything to change it and fix it because the only changes they make to the game are to replace beloved features that end up splitting the community in two
VSync sucks it doesn't even do it's job half the time I wouldn't turn it on even to improve video quality because it feels bad. Also it's more likely just a capture issue.
Honestly, if they removed turbo building (hold to build) I'd be much more inclined to play builds. Back in the early seasons of Ch1 building was about making forts or bits of cover when you get shot at, it was secondary to the shooting which made it manageable and more fun without requiring inhuman reflexes.
They had a mode where turbo building was off and you only had 90 materials total (30 each) around Chapter 1 Season 7. It was the most fun I ever had since building a single piece of cover was meaningful - not whatever we see today...
Well personally i am not a causal pleyer more like a high tier medium sweat if you understand me but i used to be casual but after a few months when i pleyed the casual modes they were a lot of bot pleyers made by epic and very few pleyers that were real humans so i thought maybe if i switch to arena or nowadays known as ranked i will play mostly against real humans so i started playing arena more and more but i was constantly dying and as i competitive person i could not take the L always so i decided if you cant beat them join them so i started practicing and it took around 2000 hours to get on the level that i am right now so i do understand you
I honestly want to grind, not a lot but just enough to at least be skillful and not die against sweats😅. Also, i just met another person online through crazy reds vs Blues on fortnite. It was random but there's still hope for finding ppl ur age to game with.
I absolutely agree with a lot of the points you’ve made/observed. I just recently got back into fort because I am currently not working due to a surgery recovery. Unfortunately, I never did play the OG when they brought it back because I swore to myself that I wouldn’t get back into it, “I won’t get back into it(!)” I stress that because I’m in a weird position as someone who loved it, and didn’t play OG; feel that I held out such distain for what it became. Now that I am back into it (I’m too much a sucker for nostalgia), I find myself thinking about what it used to be and what it became. I genuinely believe that the downfall of fort was their inability to see the community’s division. Building for example really illustrates this for me. It was a meme, a goofy joke to say “oh haha I shot at this guy once and he built a 5 star hotel” or “holy crap look at how good this guy is at building; he killed me, but gotta respect it” and it was fine the first five times but after 50 back-to-back games like that, it became harder and harder to convince your friends, and yourself, to play “just one more.” To me, this is when they should have seen the need for zero build, or at least a ranked mode for people that wanted to completely dunk on people. But tbh, epic really only ever saw the community as the streamers, TH-camrs and kids that had all day to get that good, and I feel that the majority of their player base at the time was high school/college age guys that didn’t have that time so they turned their back on the majority of the player base by saying “get good.” I could care less about the changes to the map, I love all the cartoon-y stuff in the game. It’s hilarious to me to have “IcE sPiCe sniping Darth Vader as they are getting third partied by Peter Griffin and a banana with legs. I think the skins in the item shop (did definitely go overboard) was is fine as it got bigger. My biggest issue with the item shop was that they lost their charm by having a cartoony skin that everyone wanted only show up for a few hours, “GeT iT wHiLe YoU cAn!”but will leave The Weeknd and Eminem in the item shop for literally months on end just to be able to afford the celebrity’s cash demands; like, if I wanted it, I would have bought it! DAMN! Hell, I couldn’t care less about cars/planes/helicopters. My biggest issue is that I just cannot get over how it took them so long to make a ZB mode. And I’m back into it, 5years later, but now that I was pushed out, the reason it doesn’t feel the same because I was not here to see “the major lore events” that made the map change. Coming back to Fortnite feels like going back to an ex after being broken up for an extended period of time. I loved it, but now what we had just isn’t there, and I like it, but I can never love it again after it broke my heart the first time
5:32 great video and nice shot!!

2:26 the thing is mechanics come with time you don’t need to practice them anyone who practices them is wasting their time
Thing is i dont place pins on different towns when im in the plane

What are the necessary requirements to be a teacher🤔
Yep that's right
To me, zero build is a lot harder than build mode as a casual player. They lowkey updated the bots this season where they sprint/take cover and build ramps so im waiting on that bot only gamemode 😂
As a fellow casual player, we should totally play together sometime, ive been looking for new goofy teammeats and not massive sweat lords
I feel like zero build should be replaced with no turbo builds. The whole point of fortnite is building and making forts, hence the name, and removing it just kinda defeats the point of the whole game

Holy V-Sync Batman!
Just say youre a shitter, nothing wrong with it. Every single point is an excuse in this video.
It's a video game bro, do you hear yourself rn? Nobody needs an excuse to play a game for fun.
it sounds so fun 😭 i get fncs champions even in pubs and its not fun to play at all

I just hope ch 6 goes back to story and lore. That makes the game more immersive and fun to me along with a great battlepass. I could care less about collabs.
unfortunately epic isnt really looking forward to that :(
Yeah for casuals that's something interesting to keep coming back to the game for
The thing that upsets me the most is that the building is actually fun when it isn't some button smashing competition. Building cover/ base to hold an area is fun. I'm still waiting for a restricted build mode. Like having low mats and no turbo building/edits
casuals want the game to be a shit fest that takes no skill to win example this season
Bro you are NOT him. Go touch grass you will never be bugha or clix 💀💀💀
Some do, most casuals just want to have fun tho and sometimes that requires op items so they can deal with us building skyscrapers

Good video
Bro just killed one of the four best players in the world FenderBlender7 (Reisshub)
I've killed him//her (Fender) once. He's not that difficult to kill lol
Reisshub isn’t that good lol like he knows a lot about the game from a mechanical standpoint but he doesn’t apply it like a pro does
i want to play with you bro i also played in chapter 1 and i miss that feeling soo much and im thinking that we could have fun playing toghether
they are about to bring back OG permanently dec 6-7 ish

Wanna play ?
Naw fr, he seems like such a dope guy to play casually with, something we’ve all missed and just isn’t necessarily possible to do anymore currently

@3D-User-64 than ars like MK7 ,combat and striker ar would be crazy overpowered
@@3D-User-64 yeah that would work too, rn the cool down is so absurdly low it might as well not even exist.
I loved it, but now what we had just isn’t there, and I like it, but I can never love it again after it broke my heart the first time
TL;DR this please 😭😭🙏
