Surf Comp Drama With Friends on the Smallest Day Imaginable
มุมมอง 4804 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our intentions were simple. Have a surf comp amongst friends. The waves were terrible and the drama was high as we tried to all get on the same page knowing our planning and efforts were about to be wasted on some double over toe closeout garbage waves. But that's what made it fun in the end. Maybe not for Josh though. Look how upset he is.

@@rusty_rhymez would have been better with you there!
Best site at plaskett! Nice snag. Fourth year in a row surf camping there and had that same site this year. One of the most beautiful, serene places in the US, if not the world.
@@sethsnyder1788 I couldn’t agree more! 4 years that’s awesome. Serene indeed.
I rock with this

@@spf100_ Awesome, i saw your video in Brazil, congratulations for you job!!!!
@ I appreciate the kind comment! Thank you.
Awesome man! I love the group prayer before hitting the water!
@@OutdoorsWalking Thank you!
Good for you guys to just make a short film. Yeah, the waves weren't great and no one from this crew is going on the CT any time soon, but this represents 80% of all surfer's experience...mediocre surfers in mediocre waves enjoying each other's company and just getting out of the normal routine. Of course, not me because I totally rip and always score epic waves ;)
@@Culti-b just make sure to invite us when you make it big and build your own wave pool.
These are some of my favorite roads. I scrubbed through the video... where are the two back-to-back 180-degree hairpins on Decker Canyon road, half a mile up from PCH? Love this bike but hesitating pulling the trigger on it as I love canyon riding and those two tight hairpins is what I love doing on my Ducati. Can the LRS handle it?
@@Shah_creates not sure if I recorded that section but yes that hairpin section you’re referring to on decker is like you said, about a half mile up. This bike has plenty of power but you’ll definitely notice the limitations on lean angle. It is surprisingly nimble though for its size. Like any bike it just depends what you intend to do with it and have realistic expectations. It’s amazing for cruising but it’ll still rip the canyons. Doubt you’ll be keeping up like your Ducati would though haha. Ride safe!
@ Thanks for this bro. So you have successfully negotiated those turns on Decker on your LRS? I have been curious about this for over a year - it’s a test in my mind. Tell me!
@ yea I took the Lrs on every canyon road between Yerba Buena and Topanga canyon and enjoyed every minute of it.
@@spf100_ Mad skills bro! So it's doable. My next bike. 🤞
@@Shah_creates enjoy!!
Thank you for your tutorial. you fabric will fray away if you don't stop the edges. Use a triangular with border stitch on you sewing machine if you don't want to do it separately.

Hey man i noticed you had a lowrider s before this if iam correct. Im thinking about going triumph speed twin 1200 / thruxton after my lowrider st. Howd you like the transition ?
@@HognAndRign That’s rad! Either one would be great. I was bummed to have to part with the low rider s but I’ve been having a riot on the Thruxton r. It’s a bit of a comfort adjustment. The Thruxton r is obviously much sportier and smaller than the low rider s, but the 1200 on that smaller frame is an absolute beast. It’s still a heavy bike compared to most sport bikes, but coming off a Harley and just in general the handling is phenomenal. The only thing I’m really missing is the ability to go on longer rides without getting sore like I could on my low rider s. I got an aftermarket seat which helped some. The Harley was more practical for trips and passengers and cruising in general, but the triumph really holds its own and you’ll love it for all the ways it excels. It’s been fun having a less common bike, people seem to enjoy it. I’ve put about 5,000 miles on my Thruxton since I got it this year and I haven’t had any issues yet. The fxlrs/t are beautiful bikes. Looking forward to having a cruiser again as an option at some point.
@@spf100_ nice brother nice. Yes i demoed a speed twin 1200 today and loved it! and i know ill be getting rid of some comfort And yes about the uncommon aspect about it ! Thank you for the response and stay safe riding man !
Love the design!!!
Hi from UK nice video do you find your dad's Thruxton 1200 much different to ride than your R , I have 2016 Thruxton 1200 but never ridden the R , like the green on your dad's mines just black (music's good ) You got some great roads there is it California ?
Thank you for the kind comment. The power delivery is similar in most cases since they share the same 1200 engine. The Thruxton r has adjustable front and rear suspension and Brembo brakes, so for more spirited riding the Thruxton R shines. The Thruxton R has a sport mode which makes the throttle response much more aggressive. I can’t remember if the base Thruxton has that mode as well. I have mine upgraded a bit as well with an exhaust and X pipe and some creature comforts like adjustable handlebars and a new custom seat I just added. Both stellar bikes. Can’t go wrong with either one. I quite like my dad’s bike in green. Here in Southern California specifically in the Los Angeles and Ventura areas there are no shortage of mountain roads to explore that offer excellent views and long uninterrupted stretches of road. Ride safe!
@@spf100_ Have X pipe EU Vance Hines (different than US ) and later R single seat +cowl , base Thruxton has sport mode . I was after Speed twin but Thruxton came along at right price
Nice ride! How tall are you and how do you feel on the bike, ergo wise? Is it comfortable or does it get hard, even for a cafe racer?
Thank you! I’m 5’11 and I can flat foot it with some bend in the knee. The seat does push you forward into the tank a bit unless you scoot back and tuck for high speeds. I got a new seat that is much better. I also have adjustable risers on the handlebars so I can ride in a much more upright position than the stock clip ons. I’m happy with it. I can ride for a good hour and a half without needing to stretch but it’s definitely on the sporty side of comfort vs a cruiser
@spf100_ thanks for the quick reply! Ride safe and enjoy that beautiful bike!
Born and raised in CT, I moved to SoCal for college. Learned to ride and surf while I lived there and loved PCH. Riding or surfing. One of my first solo rides was up to Loyola to the parking lot to take a photo to send home to my dad back east. A good day was a cruise up to County Line, a paddle, grab some fried clams at Neptune’s, grab a shower, take a nap and get an afternoon Moto ride in. Lived in SoCal for 14 years before moving to NorCal. I miss people and places but not the cluster it became.
Sounds so good
Thank you!
i was there i was with the 1:15 start time\
Bro , you must have been right in front of me, I finished at 1:17:29 Great race!
Oh sick dude great job! That was a gnarly course! Definitely a favorite.
Holy crap… Nice done! I would just stand there at the beginning and say: “Nah, I just think I am going home”
Ha, the thought definitely crossed my mind during the race. Thank you for the kind comment.
That was bad ass brother!! Great effort!!! I've been subscribed since the Low Rider S, I normally don't watch your non-motorcycle stuff, but this was really impressive!! Congratulations!!!
Oh dude, I really appreciate that. Thank you! It was a killer time. Got some moto footage to upload next. Ride safe!

What company makes that front fairing ? Looks Awesome!
Thank you! That’s a Memphis Shades Fairing. Ride safe.
What was your time?
based on the pacing in the video I am going to guess around 1:36:12. great video thank you for sharing!
My 2020 low rider s is so much better then an metric 1000 I have ever owned dose that bar bag rub on your tank been looking into getting one from thrashin or viking one I don't have risers on my just stock handle bars besides motor work
This bag slightly touched the tank from what I remember but I never noticed any scratches from it. Ride safe.
that water looked magical
Does the windslayer on Your GP are really reducing wind that good? Very nice video by the way!
The foam cover for the GoPro works decently up to 50mph or so but it’s not my ideal. Usually I run an external mic from it into the bike so there’s no wind at all, but my adapter for the GoPro hasn’t been working so I’m using this in the meantime. It works in a pinch. I appreciate the kind comment. Thank you.
Looked very restful. Thanks for sharing.
It was indeed. Thank you for the kind words.
love that exhaust note of triumph! Just a suggestion from my side if you would add a little bit of music it'll become even better.
Thank you for the kind comment and tip, I appreciate it.
don't add music@@spf100_
Agreed. Def. DONT add music, especially with such an amazing exhaust! What?@@risefromthedark
I have also same 2016 silver. Love this bike... I just keep looking it when parked in my front yard. And when I ride it, I wish to keep it riding more & more. Love its looks, its sound. It's the most beautiful cafe racer. No need to customise it. Although I have fitted custom made lower clip-ons as per my taste for more aggressive posture. Lowered the headlight & meter. Great handling. very agile bike.
I agree with those thoughts as well. Doesn’t need much, great bike as is. Thank you.
Nice videography.
Thank you for the kind comment

Thank you for the kind comment. Yes, California

Very nice. The RS is a beauty. Ride safe. Thank you.
Loved the shot from 0:40
Which size handlebar bag is that? Wasnt sure if one would fit without scratching the tank Nice ride through there 🤙
Thank you. That’s just the standard handlebar bag from thrashin supply co. It did rest slightly against the tank but it was a good fit.
Very cool bike. And Hwy 33? Epic!
I appreciate the kind comment. I enjoy that ride up there. Thank you.
it's a good show to reach that speed smoothly without using a windshield

Loved the video!! What gear are you using? Need to get myself into the retro aesthetic !
Thank you for the kind words I really appreciate it. Nothing fancy. A riding vest from Iron and Resin and just my carhartt work pants and red wing boots. Ride safe.
I miss rides like this in CA- trying to figure out where this was? Angeles Crest? Anyway, dig the bike and its exhaust note echoing off the canyon walls was very cool.
I appreciate the comment. This was out in the Antelope Valley not far from Lake Hughes
This video is helping me get through the winter blues until I can ride again...which is within a month LOL Thanks for the ride along!
I appreciate the kind comment. It’s been raining quite a bit here lately so I’m looking forward as well. Ride safe.
Good to see you back on 2 wheels. I’m a Harley guy myself but I do like the look of your Triumph. Great video 👍
Glad to be riding again. I’ll always love Harley’s too. Thank you for the kind words, I’m enjoying the bike quite a bit.
Nice vid like always Gavin. Very cool bike with its own thing. But wondering how it compares to your previous LRS?
I appreciate the kind comment. Thank you. The LRS was certainly more comfortable for longer rides. This bike feels quicker and handles better. But that’s to be expected with a lighter smaller bike. The torque does not drop off in a noticeable way on this bike in the higher gears/rpms. If I could get another LRS I certainly still would for cruising and longer trips. Ride safe.
#VTA love Thanks!
