Hey, coming back to watch the VOD as always. This was probably the best year for the game. I'm sad I haven't been able to get involved since February; got a lot of personal stuff happening, but content was still entertaining and I feel part of the community just by keeping up with the comments and news 🙌

G'mornin! My Fab "Year Two"/2025 Goals are to Do Well/Top 8 a Skirmish Season and try and to attend at least one BH again (Charlotte in March, if the stars and my money line up?).

Im thankful they changed Brodie's card hahaha. Its still really ridiculous, but its not as bad as it was. Still too yugioh in my opinion hahaha

I think there is a problem with pull rates. First 2 booster boxes of a new set feel fine and you get value from all the new rares and commons. After that, only majestic rarity and higher matter. In my opinion, there should be guaranteed 1 legendary per box, that legendary could be non foil, rainbow foil, cold foil or extended art and that creates the value variance for collectors but allows for more reliable access for players. Next, the majestic pull rates need to be higher. Ive opened box of Rosetta with as low as 4 majestics, which is unbelievably bad feeling. I have also got as much as 11 majestics in one Rosetta box which feels very good. I dont think it wouldn't be unreasonable to say guaranteed 8 majestic minimum in a box, thats a third of the box. I think this could help sell more sealed boxes at lgs but it doesn't do anything about people that just exclusively buy online instead of local.

I hope they start to trim down the marvels some, 20 a set is crazy. I need to get my hands on a marvel codex at some point but that price...🤢

I made a mistake here, the new Rampart of the Rams head Japanese is called a Marvel even though it's a nf full art, not the mentor. Sorry for the confusion, but the same point was what I was trying to make.

I agree im not the fan of marvel commons, I want them to be more special. I personally like cf tokens though! I don't think they need to be marvel but (I will buy them if they are). Personally I think they need to marvel weapons, heroes, and special cards for that heroes ( dragons for dromai, angels for prism, transcend for mystic (those could have been rares and been the same except for draft), blasmophet/ursur/nasreth, sellswords, etc) so basically starts in play stays in play or something your deck is looking to achive.

The mentor is a marvel? I see the red M circle on the preview, and every other mentor has been borderless full art.

I think you have some interesting points here (and I didn't know about the Mentor). What I will say, is in terms of 'enjoyment opening product' that Uprising was one of my favorite. Sure, you may have only gotten a $20-$30 Marvel dragon, but you still hit a high-rarity card - and it felt good. Compare that to Dusk Till Dawn, where I opened two cases with no Marvel hit. Until then, I didn't really enjoy opening sealed product (and skipped several sets of sealed) until Heavy Hitters - as the Marvel heroes were just banger. Rosetta was similar, in that while the sigils might only be <$20, the set still feels great to open. And I think they might have hit the 'sweet spot' on this model - the "crap Marvels" are still relatively high hits, sometimes 1-2 per case, but the Hero Marvels are still pretty hard to get and maintain their price(-ish). I think you have a really strong point, in that there is risk of dissolution *if* the assumption that a Marvel should be an expensive card - whatever that means. But I do think it's OK for Marvels to effectively have different rarities within being Marvel.

For me, LSS should return adult heros back to token rarity. Majestic slot is wasted on adult hero’s when adult hero’s are essential to the game

How can the new Arakni, effectively 9 separate hero abilities, not be power creeping the rest of everything in the game? Assassin class is so pushed. No other class gets a 0 for +5 attack reaction (just a nick). Arakni was cooler before but now just feels forced. I don't think I'll like hunted much because daggers are boring and tedious almost like fatigue as a play style goes. I also don't like cards that have to hit other named heroes to get their full effects. that type of design is bad, in my opinion Set art is beautiful as always. Very mixed feeling about the new set coming.

Our LGS gets 6-8 people on average a week, the store has been allocated a single order of 50 gem packs, so promoting for casual play to prop up armory attendances ain’t going to work if that is who distribution is going to be. It will turn into “I used to at least get a rainbow foil promo from the armory kit” to now I don’t get anything cause there ain’t enough Gem packs to go around….

This new armory format is such a welcomed change to the game. FAB needs to grow and to do that we Have to support the LGS first and formost. 90% cant afford to fly around the world to play FAB that's not where the majority community is. The LGS is everything and these packs incentivize attendence from both new players, casuals and competitives. It reduces the sweaty grinders mentality keeping out the new players and fosters a community. The flexibility to disperse the packs as the community sees fit is key. Give out a pack for participating and leftover packs give out to winners or raffle them or base them on attendance. Its a win win system .

I already go to 4+ Locals to just jam games. Armory Kits just need to put good commons/rares into the thing instead of draft chaff. CYB (As big of a pain point it is) is a big step back to the FaB 1.0 days of banger Armory promos. If LSS removes the *playmat* from the Kit as well, I'm not going to be as big of a fan.

I'm lucky I've got good LGSs in my area they don't charge for standard armory and everyone gets rf promo mats are handed out in a rotation/can request if you want one winner gets cf any time we have entry its pack per win and one pack for just entering

I'm hoping at the end of each year the armory decks become not limited so the stores get rewarded that been with lss but at the end of the year all stores can order as many as they need

My LGS was open about using the presale pricing to mark their Jarl decks above MSRP. On release day, I had to haggle to get them down to $70, and even then, it took some work to get them to commit to keeping their price when their second case is supposed to arrive today. This same LGS just marked up their Kayo decks because of the market, which I don't fault them for.

The spoilers, alt arts, future predictions and lore channels were my favorite part of your discord and they are all gone. Not trying to scorn you over it, just letting you know that im even more of a lurker now.

I agree about the power level issues going on with FAB. Pre-1.0 you could jam literally everything. 1.0 You started to have to have more of a focused deck 2.0 You had to know the match ups 3.0 hope you get your combo before turn 5, or you just lose. I really hope they take some time to identify the power creep in the game and put on full brakes. I get that they really want to sell well and have newly launch products in new territories do well... but I think they are doing such at the cost of the core of the game. Which is more of a move that a huge corporation decides, vs what LSS used to be before 2.0. I don't want to point to everything that LSS is doing wrong, but it really seems like the big ramp up in product is really starting to wear down the game more than I would like. Hopefully they slow down and pick up the pieces they dropped along the way.

This set reminds me of dusk till dawn and I'm way more wary of it this time around

I was playing an armory one time, and there was a girl there, like a GF of a player, and I got matched against her. She seemed like she didn't know what she was doing very well, but understood HOW to play. So I pulled my punches hard for the first 3 or 4 turns, and like, gave her blocking advice etc etc. Then when the game was down to the endgame, she suddenly just busts out the perfectly sequenced aurora combo turn and destroys me, then gives me the fist bump. I felt so fucking cheated lol. Like, bruh, should have just annihilated her early and kept the pressure on to win the cold foil. Armory events are to win a $20 card and some packs, it's not nothing. So yeah, I agree, not casual at all.
