I have always wanted a tiny house but it seems like everytime we try to put money aside for one something happens and we can't it's so hard and I really am entering your contest because we are a hard working couple that really just needs to catch a break and I figured why not it's worth a shot, I work 60 plus hours a week at Dunkin as the assistant manager and my fiance works 40 hours a week at Ethan Allen as well as a second job in the spring and summer mowing and trimming 40 plus hours a week, I know a lot of people work hard and could use help , I do understand that I'm not the only one, but just once I wish something good could happen to us when it comes to a tiny house of our dreams something we own and it would be a real home for us which we also have not really had in many many years.. thank you for listening to me rant and I hope whomever wins this tiny house enjoys it because it is a chance of a lifetime.....

that ladder/bathroom door is atrocious. what if someone is getting out of the shower and they're completely unaware you're trying to go up or down that ladder? bad layout.

Fantastic system…only one thing I noticed..which, as a waterproofing professional I noticed immediately: why no silicone sealant applied over and around the fastener heads for the brackets? Yes… I could see there are rubber gaskets under the screw heads…but water WILL find a way into a home and I would never skip the sealant around any fastener drilled through an exterior roof or wall…. For about ten bucks a cartridge (or less) silicone sealant around every fastener head (which, btw, will be concealed and not an eyesore) is very inexpensive protection from moisture.

This is a FANTASTIC informative video! I’m going steel with my tiny home…makes sense for me as i reside in the south east…humid (termites)…and in a high wind zone with the threat of hurricane outer band winds…my builder (Moveable Roots in S. FL) will outfit my home with “hurricane straps” which will enable me to secure my home with strapping that extends from the TOP of the home thru the frame and into helical piers driven deep into the ground. Also, living in a mountain area the threat of fire is real so metal frame and metal composite cladding helps.

The solar is so efficient you never need a generator, that's what's up! Even in Canada...but of course you gotta use propane to heat, which is reasonable. Idk how to be off grid without propane 100% unless you are a lumberjack or use solar (electric) for everything.

That is truly a marvelous home you built. I would seriously love to build one as well with many of the multi-functions and effenciencies of design. And I appreciate the no-compromises aspect with the kitchen, as a culinarian (polymath/artist) myself.
