Fantastic find Ben it’s going to give you months and months of pleasure going through them. I intend to come up and pick up the tail end of your collection someday soon but I have recently made a large purchase so for the moment I have to keep an eye on my pennies But it won’t take me long to recover and I’ll be coming to dig through your drawers ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
That 1840s spanner is very cool👍👍 Thank you for the education.
Est. 😆😆😆
Hi where did you find your bsa tools ltd England sign? I’ve found the first half in my dad’s garage and can’t find the 2nd half anywhere!
I bought it from a friend as a whole collection
Incredible! Good for you brother! You had to be as tickled as a puppy with two peters!!😅 Goliath HAUL! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
definitely, buddy was a great experience, but certainly a lot of items to process
You old tool dealer.😂
You measure European wrenches in.. Inches? What next? Maybe you will call that yellow liquid in cans sell in USA a beer?
These are so cool
Is there a pdf version for this book please?
no, I don’t think so. You’ll have to buy a Copy buddy
You've done really well with the space you have. Shows what can be done with a small workshop.
thanks buddy. I appreciate that.

Great collection. My favorite is all of them. All were tops.
🤣🤣👍👍
Nice haul, you got some very unusual finds there.
thanks Dale. I appreciate that buddy
Nice restuaration :) In Norway, The Kongsberg Weapons factory started production of the exact same tools after WW1. The only difference is that they are marked "Made in Norway" and "Kongsberg No 90-94". I have them, and the 91 has gotten me out of many situations with rounded/rusted nuts on several cars. The No91 is always in my toolbox, something I learned from my dad who always had his old Bahco 140 with him. I also use the Bahco 31-T, on pipes/lines and the thin caliper nuts ,and the Cromna S3 and S4 on hard to get to bigger bolts. Haven't found the S1 and S2 with a "Made in Norway"-stamp, but I se there are English, Swedish, Danish and French versions on ebay. They are awesome, and a much better design than the older one that Wera has now copied. Do you have any information on how to determine the age of Bahco pipe wrenches, as I suspect it will give me a pointer on how old my Kongsberg tools are?
thanks for the comment and agree information, buddy
Fantastic video and again some amazing tools Thanks Ben for sharing your time ☕☕👍👍
My pleasure!
I'm surprised you didn't pick up that marvelous pen knife at Bolton Wanderers.
I’m not
Hi Ben, favourite has to be the coach wrench. The cutter, judging by the age, would they have had cables of that size? With the handles made of brass could they have been for maybe lead pipe, being soft, armoured cable would be too strong? Just my thinking. Thanks as always. 👍👍👍✌️
I think you might be right there buddy. Thanks for the comment :-)
What antique fair was it?
it’s in the Bolton Wanderers football stadium once a month
@@tooladdict7463 thank you
I had these in my hands 😱 think you're glad I did only buy one. It wasn't the kind of market where you expect to see this kind of stuff. The book is awesome BTW
yes, I’m appreciative that you only bought one thanks buddy
Really nice collection
thanks a lot, buddy. I appreciate that.
Those are awesome. Very nice. It's great all the info you pass along with the tools and the reference book is amazing
definitely Ron did an amazing job with the book. We all thank him for it.
Fantastic tools Ben, with the stamped name on that coach wrench I'm always tempted to think that if its small type in a perfect line (a single stamp) i would imagine its more likely a seller branded tool rather than an owner stamping his tool? Adjustables have been thin on the ground at bootfairs but i did get a lovely Queen Bess for £2.50! And managed to freevoff the adjuster. Happy New Year my friend, looking forward to many more videos 👍👍👍✌️
that’s a fantastic price. They are quite a rare wrench. You don’t see the come up for sale very often
Great stuff Ben- It’s amazing how eBay works, some days you’ll see a lot of items then other days it’s dry. 😃👍
definitely Jon it’s like buses sometimes they come along in threes but nothing for awhile smiley face
Thanks Ben, very interesting as usual. You should have taken a "before" photo so we can be amazed at how well the wrenches clean up. Happy New Year! Take care and all the best
yeah, you’re right. I should’ve hope everything is good with you, buddy.
@ 2:30 the stamp on the iron is Stanley Patent April 19, 1892. It is US Patent 473,087 given to Edmund A. Schade primarily for a redesign of the slot and round hole in the plane iron.
hey buddy, thanks for the great information. I appreciate it.
I know you've probably answered this in other videos, but what books are those? They look quite interesting.
Ron gesing history of adjustable spanners vol 1 and 2
Great finds buddy. Drawers look fantastic!
Thanks, buddy. Enjoy your trip.
Great video and some amazing tools Thanks for sharing your time Ben And happy new year ☕☕👍👍
Happy new year to you, buddy
Do you ever think about having someone heat up the tang of top jaw of these wrenches (where the jaws are not parallel) and bending them back into proper alignment?
because they are quite rare, I usually don’t mess with them. I leave them as they are.
At 7:34, you have a very particular type of scraper: it's a cabinet scraper, as used by cabinet makers.
At 4:02, you have a broken machine hacksaw blade. The clue is the "11 TPI" (teeth per inch) marking visible between your thumb and forefinger at 4:05, and the hint of the remains of a wavy edge where the teeth have been ground off. That hint is the slightly shiny patches along the edge of the blade's face, and, as your turned it towards us, I thought I saw a glimpse of the remains of the ground-off teeth along the narrow edge.
wow Ian you certainly are a very very knowledgeable guy indeed thank you so much for the great information buddy. I do know most of these things but I talk very quickly and don’t edit my videos so whatever comes out of my mouth comes out of my mouth that’s how it is :-) have a great day buddy.
At 3:20 your "sextant" is a wing divider. (Also called a leather compass when used to mark leather by cutting a shallow groove in it.) I expect the screw in one leg has replaced the thumbscrew that ought to be there. It can be used on other materials, including for marking out steel if marking out fluid has been painted on it. The thumbscrew (or its replacement) reduces the chance of losing its setting while you are marking with it.
At 2:56, you have a repurposed machine hacksaw blade (cut short, probably because it got broken or was worn, hence a hole in only one end) which has had its teeth ground off (note the remains of the wavy edge along the bottom edge.) The hook ground into the right hand end is either for raking out narrow slots or for use as a scriber. The remains of the wavy edge is most obvious to the right of your thumb at 3:00.
At 8:44 is a filler knife, not a scraper, hence the filler or putty left to harden on it since its last use. A scraper blade would be shorter or wider, and less flexible.
At 7:45 is a gimlet for drilling holes
At 6:26 is a sliding bevel (often called a bevel) used to transfer an angle to mark a new piece of wood etc for cutting to match the angle where it is to fit. Although yours has a screw (as does one of mine) a short lever with a threaded nut-like end (rather like a wing nut with only one wing, longer than the wing of a wing nut) is more convenient as it can be operated with one finger or thumb.
At 4:45 and 6:38 you have lino knives for cutting linoleum flooring
At 6:38, you have a filling knife - its blade is too flexible to be a scraper. As with the putty knife, some sort of filler or putty has been left to harden on the blade from its last use.
Your "scraper" at 6:06 is, I think, a putty knife (by the shape of the blade.) Also, there appears to be hardened putty on the blade because it wasn't cleaned when it ought to have been. Not sure why the blade should be riveted to the fitting in the handle - seems over-complicated, so perhaps I'm missing something.
Almost 100 years old tool. Got one my self. Most efficient nail puller ever.. They knew how to build tools in the days...
glad to see that bench being back into service.
definitely I’ve actually passed it on to a craftsman since then and he’s doing some great work on it
"One of my favorite drawers" x 200. lol I'm drooling.
🤣🤣👍👍
Hey Dear I saw your videos and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after analysis, I noticed there needs to be improvement for getting more views and subscribers. You are working hard but the main motive to reach an exact audience is not fulfilled. You are working for your audience if the video can't reach them. That's a waste of your energy and time also. I will show the problem in your video and share how to fix it. Only say ‘yes’ if you want to grow your channel.
They are soooo beautiful 😻
