This song has been in my mind for over 20 years. It talks about coming out of your own little self and shining with all your might.

Where do the children play? (Cover) | Yusuf Cat Stevens | Paris 19 | PRS CE 24 | Spark40 | MPK mini
มุมมอง 1693 ปีที่แล้ว
Here is my first attempt at synth on this cover of Yusuf / Cat Stevens "Where do the children play?". I used the AKAI MPK Mini to pilot the Presence Sound Library from Presonus Studio One DAW (Prime Edition). The song is technically relatively simple which allowed me to focus on the orchestration. I guess there is room for improvement on the rythm :p The concept for the video clip is to take pi...

Suddenly Sustained, Celebrating the Beauty of our World
มุมมอง 2024 ปีที่แล้ว
The world is an unfathomable mistery. Beautiful, harsh, dangerous, harmonious, full of possibility... And fragile... This tune celebrates the tight rope we're on: we need to push the envelope ever further and at the same time we just can't break the extraordinay balance of our world. Thank you for a very clear, step by step presentation! How many tracks can I make?
You are very welcome. I believe you can create as many tracks as you want, as long as your computer can process it.
There is still some annoying noise gating going out even without the pedal engstes. Is that possible to remove?
Great video! Thank you
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for this - exactly what I was looking for - without the Eq the Spark is a bit disappointing - it hadn't occurred to me that just Eq-ing it on the phone would fix it so effectively!
Thanks that’s helpful. I’ve got a RIFF interface so hopefully a lot of the steps are the same
im having trouble at the starting point, I cant find the serial number on the spark to register the product, ive looked on the back of the amp and anything i type in is wrong
i watched like 8 other videos on how to set this up and your the only person that explained the part about having to add an input to the track before you can record. thanks for that!!🙏
Thank you. It was very helpful ☺️
I followed the whole process and got my positive grid on my interface list but when I select it as my audio device an error report appears, " The audio device Positive Grid USB Audio Device could not be initialized. Please check your hardware configuration and try again". I have no idea how to fix this
Just try to unplug and replug your spark in your computer, or try to turn it off and on and reselect the PG driver.
I'm having the same issue, I've done the ASIO4ALL download, the Windows driver from Positive Grid, updated my Spark Mini to the latest firmware, still ain't working. What's interesting is that Audacity (free on the Windows Store) WAS able to record my guitar.....were you ever able to get it to work?
Very Helpful video. Thanks. Sweet looking PRS you have there
Thanks Avi. Got a nice acoustic sound now. Cheers.
I was able to get my guitar to record but how would I record vocals at the same time as well.
Oh that's a good one! Not sure what you mean by "at the same time". If you mean record them together at once, i'm not sure you're good with this set up. If you mean record voice with the same devices, well here is how i managed it : First you need a mic. I got one that can be plugged directly to the computer with a ghost alim. Then i downloaded a pilot called ASIO 4ALL. This pilot is a virtual sound card needed to record anything else than your amp. Install it and configure it in Studio 1 pretty much like you configured the amp pilot. Finally, when you want to record voice, select this ASIO pilot as the recording device and create a track that uses it. Hope it helps
Thank you so much! It worked for me.
What a great introduction and setup tutorial of software. It was so much help to me. Thank you Avi.
THX a million for your feedback !
Thank Avi for your time dedicated to this tutorial. Very useful.
😮😮😮
Thanks for your video! Can you help me - i've replicated all steps, i see spark as audio device and i can select channel. But thrn i have no sound. The line in green "record" area is conplrtely flat.. whar am i missing..
Yep. No problem. Checkout part 2 which is about recording.
Can one use the Spark as an audio interface and simultaneously as the audio out to play what has been recorded in my DAW/software? I would love to not use headphones or monitors. Thanks
Excellent work Avi ! Keep it up!
THX !
Merci! Tu m'as sauvé beaucoup de temps! I guess you speak French! ;)
But of course! 🤣🤣🤣
Very cool Avi! I really enjoyed this! ;)

My audio will only go back through my amp as an output, does anyone know how to fix this?
I don't know about fixing. I think it's the way it is supposed to be. With that said, there might be a configuration in S1, provided you have an output device. Keep in mind that this rig is rather designed for bedroom players and homestudio beginners. It has some limitations. In my case, it got me into home recording, but i might upgrade some day for some more advanced rig. For one, the sound card and recording quality is not exceptionnal. I really hope you will enjoy your amp, and that it will help you getting to the next level.
Thank you so much for this! I didn’t really see a lot of other tutorials using windows, so you are a lifesaver!!
Thx so much for your feedback ! If you could share this video this would help me back a ton! Cheers !
Very helpful. Finally got it working. Thank you so much!
You are so very welcome!
Is it possible to bring in a mp3 track to add to the guitar track in Studio One? I got a song in mp3 format and I'll be playing the guitar to jam along with it and want to edit in studio one. How would you do that?
I'm not sure. I would ask this question in a dedicated S1 forum. Regards
Very informative! The only thing is, when I press “record,” I can see a little line going up and down when I play, but I don’t see the green bar counting up across the screen when I play and it doesn’t actually record my playing. Any suggestions?
THX for the feedback ! About your issue : yeah, maybe you didn't select the track to record on the left hand side. Go over the tutorial once more, you'll figure it out. And, dude, you're really close!
Great tutorial! One question. When I'm playing my guitar while recording I noticed that the tone is altered (like a chorus effect). Is this normal?? Is there a setting I can turn off?
Hi I'm just seeing this now. Hope you found the solution ! Basically, this is totally normal. There is a feedback feature to hear yourself in Studio 1. Since you have the amp, you don't need this feature. It's even detrimental because it creates this slight chorus you're talking about. Just turn OFF the feedback for the track being recorded by clicking on the little blue button on the left hand side of the track. Cheers
Thank you Avi. This was very helpful. One thing others might want to know is that when you get to the 7 minute mark, you talk about downloading the driver from Positive Grid. You do NOT need to click on "Open With" as you did in the video as this will give third parties access to your Google Dirve. The better solution is to just click on the download icon (it's the down-arrow icon in the top-right corner of the screen. You can then open it and extract it with Windows File Manager.
Hey Dennis, thanks for your comment ! And thanks for your remark about the download. I actually got aware of this after i published the video, which was too late to edit. I hope many of you guys got it right. Cheers
shalom....man you saved me ive been so frustrated looking for a windows user....not mac!!! thank you so much
So glad i could help !
Hi, I did get it ok , however it needs to be in English to enjoy it and get the most out of it and if possible Kill the background guitar playing.
Oh my god thank you so much! Be going through all these tutorials with no luck. This friggen worked 🤘
I'm so happy it did !
ffs you're a life saver. was so confused by the video positive grid actually put out. talking about downloading ASIO4ALL and everything. can't believe it took this long to finally get working. so glad i found your video(:
I'm so happy i could help !
Very detailed, extensive description. thank you
Welcome !
Great instructions. Thanks! Now i can record my guitar playing but would like to record myself playing with backing tracks. Is that possible?
Hey Doron, THX for the feedback. About recording on backing tracks i suppose it's totally possible. You'll have to have your backing track as a Studio One track. So i guess it's not really a Spark related topic. If however you want to have your Spark jam along as backing track, you can checkout a guy named Jason Little on TH-cam. He covers this topic. Cheers, Avi
Thanks Avi! There was one crucial step missing in the Spark basic setup guide that you showed in your video - selecting the input in order to record! Thanks!!
I'm glad i could help!
Nice job Avi 😄
THX !!
Got to the end of the video but I can’t seem to record anything. I’m plugged to a MacBook and even after I configured the input to come from my spark amp I’m not able to record any audio from it.
Did you hit the record button on the track ? That may seem to be a simple call, but many had this issue...
Thank you Avi, saved me a bunch of time figuring how to get going with my new spark amp.
You are so welcome !
