I was on Sweetbriar marsh 2/9/2024 at 5. 15 in the morning sat and waited for daylight. Got a couple of nice early morning landscapes plus photos of Blackcap Bullfinch and Blue tit. Beautiful place to relax and meet like minded people. Thanks Richard a Woodhouse.

what a fantastic Bird.

As with all link roads and by-passes, they will build along it, with shops, industrial estates and housing. Then the road will become choked with traffic and then in about 15 years' time, there will be calls for another link road or by-pass, with more infill development. Then the pattern will repeat, ad infinitum. . . . until there is nothing green left to protect.

I totally agree we cannot allow this terrible road to be built and destroy the wonderful Norfolk countryside. Please do all you can to STOP this DEVASTATION

cant fight progress! londoners have run out of land in essex and suffolk to build on, so they have to go somewhere. plus norfolk is just a bit more picturesque…for now. there i was thinking bats could kill any development project in seconds, but apparently not. you learn something new every day.

Sea levels aren't rising, tectonic plates move and the land sinks below another continent, you can't stop earth doing earth things and if people want to try they should do it without taxpayer funds.

Where is your petition?

Very emotive claims are being made but not one practical alternative is put forward. One campaigner spoke of "innovative and modern ways" to spend the money, but failed to detail them; so her film clip just contained meaningless words. Not convinced at all. It is negative campaigning - nimbyism.

I can't believe these terrible proposals are STILL being seriously considered by councils. These roads never address the actual problems they're supposed to alleviate and once those habitats and woodlands are destroyed. They're gone forever. If you want to see how these roads are ineffective, just look up the history of the ring road that was forced through Wells in Somerset in the 80s....

You can see why we're the most ecologically depleted country in the entire world.

It is so sad that those in power rarely have any consideration for the natural world, development means profit ,end of story.

What exactly is the long-term end goal of the government's "growth at all costs forever" mantra? How could it possibly lead to anything other than an entire nation of concrete with absolutely ZERO space remaining for soil either as natural or agricultural land? What an impressively unintelligent way to run a society, country, nation, culture, etc.

The UK is one of the most nature depleted countries in the WOLRD, I really truly hope this road never gets built 🙏 well done and thank you to all the incredibe orgs fighting it ❤️

The UK ranks very low in biodiversity, and yet we continue to push these ill-considered develeopments.

Vote green at the election

We don't need more roads there is enough roads already this country as far to many people get rid of all the migrants and crimenal coming in . Then we won't need more roads and villages the country is losing its beauty and its wildlife .

Is a great achievement. As someone who donated, I strongly hope it's not going to be opened up to too much public access. Marriots way already goes through it as well as plenty of paths. Please keep plenty of it safe for nature to live undisturbed. The ideas about getting more volunteers involved in management are obviously good.

Thanks for posting this. I am now fuming at the Council for what they are planning to do. I have viewed the video on "orlo", and that is totally worthless. No explanations, no details, no mention of the destroyed areas. What can I recommend? SEE BELOW. Start a Crowd Fund page. Raise money, Tell the Council that you have the money fight for years. They'll pause at that. Then insist that if it is built it removes only dead trees, no animal habitats, and allows only carbon neutral vehicles to use the road. They'll pause again. Involve all the charities that look after Wildlife and Protected Species of Flowers, get some demonstrations organised. That will cause serious pauses. Contact ALL TV and RADIO channels to gain support from a wider pool of supporters. That should generate a lot of pauses. Let Norfolk County Council know that come the next elections the Anti-Norwich Western Link Road activists will be working against the Tories who support the scheme. They'll pause more at that since they will lose all the monies they fleece from the residents. I sincerely hopes this helps. We really do need to stop the townies/city-folks who think that a green open space is worthless and is only an undeveloped building site. David

Just had a holiday here & had the most amazing holiday. Would love to have seen David Attenborough on a boat telling us the names of the birds. We ended up buying a book from Ludham shops so that we could identify the wildlife. We saw some rare breeds too ;)

Love Norfolk and have been a member of Norfolk Wildlife Trust since FOREVER ! Want to have my ashes scattered at the end of Blakeney Point among the seals , the waves and if it’s Summer, the terns ! Stone curlews and stoats are really something to see at Weeting Heath .
