Urea in Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a nitrogen compound that helps reduce harmful emissions from diesel engines
A 1 gpm urea pump has a flow rate of 1 gallon per minute. It is most suitable for smaller equipment and vehicles.
The 6 gpm DEF pump has a flow rate of 6 gallons per minute. It is most suitable for medium-sized vehicles.
The 7 to 9 gpm DEF pump has a flow rate of 7 to 9 gallons per minute. It is specifically designed for heavy-duty applications and larger vehicles.
DEF is corrosive to different components in pumps and tanks, especially copper and iron. Therefore, storing the fluid in non-compatible materials requires frequent replacement and reduced effectiveness. To combat this issue, DEF requires storage and pumping with HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) or stainless steel. These materials do not react with DEF and lead to corrosion.
