It is unforgivable the way Carter Bays and Craig Thomas jammed their foot on Barney's character development and ruined Barney in the last 2 finale eps after all 3 seasons and 22 eps

I think what Robin always secretly knew is that Ted always put her in a pedestal, and he had such an idealised image of her that she would never be able to live up to those expectations. And with Ted, every time someone didn’t live up to that mental image, he would lose interest and jump onto the next interesting person he came across. Barney had no expectations of Robin because he lived in the moment, and never searched for anything more than a casual relationship. He fell for Robin because of who she is, not because of who she could be. That’s why she said yes to marrying him, because she saw that their present could easily be their future. With Ted that wasn’t possible because he wanted fundamentally different things to Robin, and he thought he could get away with pretending he didn’t, hoping she could change or he could change. That isn’t a future, that’s a possibility. And Robin never liked uncertainty.

Still salty that within 40 minutes, the writers were able to destroy every single good relationship in the show because apparently “that’s life”. Barney and Robin, Ted and Tracy, Robin and the gang… I still don’t understand why they couldn’t just end the show on a good note? The “happy ending that everyone wanted” was literally right there… if they had just stopped at 9x22 and went straight to the alternative ending. But the writers tried to be *creative* and it literally blew up in their faces.

seriously though...the writers had to have known they would piss off everyone with that ending...well almost everyone...i'm sure there are some people who like the ending....but we don't care about them. Even if Barney and Robin absolutely had to get divorced in their minds for whatever reason...forcing the Ted/Robin thing is ...... well complete BS!

HIMYM ending was worst than GoT finale.... Why build-up Barney & Robin's relationship to perfection, only to be killed by a quick no reason divorce. And to top it off She ends up with Toxic Ted.
