    Excellent video, sold me to the vitalizer! And great songs! Where can one listen to them? Also any chance for access to multitracks to compare or combine the spl with other processors?

    The Behringer is amazing for the bucks and the Neve is totally overpriced.

    Why would you compress drum samples that are already compressed and leveled.. Get some reald drum recordings that actually need compression

    The Neve(r) costs too much to not really have any discernible difference with the Behringer. Good video!

    I love how no one talks about the AD/DA conversion that is happening here. That access AD/DA is probably amazing then its digital to you right? But what AD/DA are you using good sir? The differences people hear are probably the AD/DA converters here.

    On the mix, the Neve sound more engaging and musical. The Behringer sounds good, and very dynamic, but less full in the lower mids. But the Behringer sounds by far good enough for my purposes ❤

    Don't downplay plugins to uplift a piece of hardware. There was barely a difference between that plugin and that expensive piece of hardware... barely. The hardware just had 1 db more sub bass. There's advantages & disadvantages between hardware & plugins When I reopen a session, the plugin's settings will be right there where I left them. With the hardware I will have to redo the settings over, unless I took a picture of the hardware settings. Do get me wrong, the Vitalizer-3 hardware sounds amazing, but the old plugin Vitalizer-2 plugin sounds great too. An that plugin been out for a very long time

      I am no fanboy. I actually had a hardware mk3 tube vitalizer but sold it a while back. Its nice to have but its one of those things that in reality you will use only on some mixes that lack something. Compared to the plugin i always felt a bit of lacking dimension from the plugin. However i am sure that nowadays it would be possible to make a better plugin. Maybe if Tone Projects emulated it. My setup is software nowadays and only have an xpressor and a xfilter regarding outboard devices

    Great video man. I’ve used the plugin here and there for a while and long story short I ended up buying one after watching this demo amongst others. I have an SPL BiG in my 500 series rack and I was absolutely blown away at the amazing sound, build quality and value of that unit so that got me really interested in adding one of these to my studio. I think you said it best, “Now everything just seems to sound boring when it isn’t on there”….from every demo I had heard this was the case. Amazing sound and value by SPL 💯

      What you mean by that?

    • @eyesintheskies

      @@christophk3078 i mean it does something quite unique, it covers a lot of different things in one box. The way it unmasks parts of audio is impressive. There are recognizable elements of standard eq or compression but it is quite unusual in the way it does them. Which makes it very intriguing !

    • @christophk3078

      Exactly, it is unique. BTW: For me esoteric normally means some kind of placebo effect but this unit definitely does not fall into that category. That's why I asked ;)

    • @eyesintheskies

      @@christophk3078ok i understand maybe it translates differently. To me esoteric is something a bit leftfied, witchcraft even! , something i dont fully understand but i can still hear the magic ✨ hopefully i will get one at some point. Enjoy 👍

      That word actually does come to mind for me when I think about this box. It’s almost like if an SSL fusion took acid and wandered away into the jungle, but in a really good way if that makes sense 😂

    The width on the Neve is so much better, which is why I think the mix sounds better on it. It's also a tighter sound in the mids. The Behringer is definitely a good sounding piece though. Maybe the drums pop a bit more on the Behringer because the width isn't as a great, but overall I like the sound.

    Great video man! Really loved it on the ballad, the bass by itself sounded amazing through this unit 👍🏼 By the way, the plugin didn't sound as tridimensional as the hardware

    In my opinion, the Neve is warmer. There's like a slight 250-700hz bump. The behringer sounds more modern, a little thinner- not in a bad way. It's like they scooped the little bit of extra beefiness/ warmth the neve has out of the berhinger. Again, not a bad thing in my opinion. I think I may actually like the Behringer more for that reason alone.

    You dont "match" settings. You use your ears!

  • @WisdomHouseCreative

    The Behringer sounds pretty good on the drums, but it falls apart on the full mix. Seems to narrow the soundstage and reduce separation in a way that the Neve does not. The mix loses excitement, so much so that I prefer the unprocessed version over the Behringer. My two cents, anyway...

  • @SkeadFerdinandMusic

    Behringer sounds good. Like it on the drums a bit better since it sounds brighter. I like the Neve more on the entire mix. The Neve sounds a bit fuller in general and the Behringer a bit brighter. Think the brighter sound can be achieved with EQ but not so sure about the Neve's fuller sound and that might be the huge difference in the end. The Behringer will still be a great tool for what it is and the price is good .

    For $500 the behringer will do just fine. U want to impress clients. Put a neve sticker on it. No one will know. It's a difference but a small stock eq could make them equal in 3 secs. Small bump in low band (40-100) and done

    The Neve is tighter and punchier in the low end. But in the full context of the mix, its harder to catch. I would need to drive both these units hard in order to get a proper comparison because that's really where the differences will show themselves.

  • @ourmindzdj

    Think the Neve offers a lot tighter transience. Would be interested to know whether you are able to achieve a tighter/closer compression with different settings on the compression or not (even if that means they are different on each device)
