I was a hazmat consultant, so not OHSA but had to learn everything for jobsites to be compliant. The things I saw in training. I’m sorry guys but you will never be able to convince me otherwise - anyone saying ‘f*ck safety’ is just scared of getting fired on some level. You know if you croak your boss will find a replacement in a week. Be safe out there. And for f*cks sake shave your face before donning your respirator. It doesn’t do anything when you have even just stubble.

I lost all respect for OSHA when I built the Directors house in Colorado. He would walk in and cover his eyes and say if i dont see it i dont have to report it. So as long as it doesnt effect them in their own pockets they dont care who it hurts. Man that guy was a little weasel. I remember him clearly. He would read his litttle book and think he was frank lloyd wright, when he was nothing more than vanilla ice remodeling a house with 1990s furniture.

I am self employed is the first words I say. Then I say get off my jobsite. They can't do anything if you work for yourself. Then I call our office and tell them to show me as a sub contractor or get ready for the fines. Because its been their own fault for cutting costs by not wanting to bench back or send out the boxes. I will get done, just don't blame me for your greed and then not accept the fallout of your actions.

I miss the guys a lot, miss the work, my back and body like me right at my desk. It's fun to drive around Denver and see places we were, after 30 years it is probably very annoying for my wife to hear. But we took pride in all we did and how we did it.
