Shock Treatment is almost a reversal of Rocky Horror. In Rocky Horror, Brad and Janet come from a conservative heterocisnormative world, and they both hold up fairly closely to the traditional gender roles. They enter into a world of sexual liberation where people break away from traditional gender roles. In Shock Treatment, Janet has become more empowered while Brad has become a bit more soft. Here, they are pulled into a world holding to traditional gender expectations (as shown with this song), run on reality TV and corporate greed.

If you like Jessica Harper, Phantom of the Paradise is required watching. Her voice goes from innocent to simmering and powerful in that. It's really something.
