Also no, the mountains are very much small. Convert it to bedrock and immediately you realize it is very small! That is why legacy edition is fire, made something small feel more big or open.

I want to know! I have seen a method to get the “editions” button if you have a disk of the game, but I’ve been looking for a method to get a standalone digital copy of the ps4 edition.

The main difference between modded and vanilla minecraft is that modded tends to just GIVE you the thing. But minecraft makes you work for it. And it come in such nuanced complicated steps, that so much can be done with each piece. Flight in modded? It comes in spades and its almost always just creatice mode flying. In vanilla? An elytra allows you to glide, slowly losing height. if you want more height you need fireworks. It not only was an early way of moving in 1x1 spaces, but also allowed you to reach insane speeds without the need for potion effects. And introduced a "fly too fast into a wall" damage type. Oh, and it interacts with your capes. Theres so much more added there than just "travel through the air" and that allows things like datapacks and mods to do so, so much more. Vanilla is just as satisfying as modded. Except, in modded you connect pipes and 1-block computers that can do anything, and if it cant, just craft an upgrade to put in the block so it can! But in vanilla, factories and automation comes in the form of understanding the intentionally complicated systems, and using the bits that are helpful to you. So when minecraft adds updates that just start giving you things again, it stops feeling magical. Suspicous sand and other blocks are a fascinating idea because it means that items can be HIDDEN IN BLOCKS. Often, an escape or puzzle room hides items behind blocks, and you have to find a tool or something, but this allows for a lot of more immersive situations. Skulk sensors are a take on wireless redstone. Mods already do wireless anything all the time. So having something a bit more complicated really fleshes out the redstone possibilities. differing signal strengths depending on the type of sound, and wool as an insulator is super flexible.
I dont think you’ve played enough modded Minecraft if in being honest, some mods are kind of like that, but they dont just give you things, most mods make you really work for stuff There are a lot of mods that actually do what you are saying you want/like about normal Minecraft I dont think Minecraft has ever really had updates where they just give you stuff
@@seriousdudes8070 to be clear "just give you it" isnt in relation to where you find the item. I never brought up WHERE elytras come from. Just that their mechanics are nuanced and complicated. But usually, when I fight "flight" in a mod pack in comes in the form of "craft the flying thing" and then "power the flying thing" and that's about it. Sure, the material cost and sub-craft menu is probably very deep and takes dozens of steps. But that's JUST crafting it. Powering it is often done with whatever universal power supply the mod has as well. And you likely already have a stockpile of power generation for other things in that mod pack, whether it's mechanical fuel or magical energy. And again, it's usually in the form of creative flight. I've seen "build your own airship" mods, but that just makes a ridable entity that looks like your blocks, and usually just needs a bit of power or a bit more air balloons to float. It's otherwise very simple and directly flight. Elytras ascend with fireworks, and that's the only "ascension" that fireworks do for you (other than y'know, being fireworks). Crossbows use them as explosive ammo. Not many things in the game put you in a 1x1 form, (though since the addition of 1x1 crawling, it's very easy to do with trapdoors. At the time it was extremely unique.) and very very few things in the game move you around as fast as gliding does, outclassing almost all the other speed travel options, save for nether portal shenanigans. It's "fuel" is unique and 1-off from enemies youd otherwise entirely avoid. You move uniquely while in it. theres more to it than a swiftwolfs ring of rendering gale or jetpack or potion of flight has.
Yeah, all of that “building fodder” from 1.13, 1.16, 1.17/1.18… definitely didn’t add anything to the game… The bee update was pointless and could have just been 1.15.5 or whatever
The bigger Minecraft updates definitely added a lot more than “building fodder” to the game. Stuff like the Deep Dark, new world generation, bastions, etc. are all really cool additions. The thing is, the few really good things added in these updates are also paired with a lot of bloat. Alongside these solid additions, we get plenty of blocks that are purely meant to be a niche decoration (like decorated pots) or even just a completely unobtainable block (reinforced deepslate). So it’s not that these updates added nothing to the game, rather that these updates added more than they really should have, especially since those decoration blocks only take away from the creativity aspect of the game, not unlock it like you would think at first.

Haha most of the time it really is unwarranted hate, but I do think here that Mojang should start slowing down on their update cycle and focusing on bringing smaller but more meaningful additions to the game.
I think that Minecraft doesn’t have enough wildlife so I think adding bees was good
