I absolutely love this scene. It is one of those rare moments in cinema where the performance, editing, music, directing just all line up to make you forget that you are watching a movie. It makes you feel like you were there watching that interview.

Great scene. What i love about the scene is his wife probably heard a million of his story's of his but never heard this one. Just the look on his wife and daughters face speaks volumes without saying a word.

Tom Hanks and Kevin bacon and paxton stayed in my hometown while they made Apollo 13. They are at our Mexican restaurant and the meal tom Hanks got was renamed the tom Hanks special. Haven't been there in awhile so they could have changed it but the restaurant is still there. La Casita
