I always wondered why Jack didn't have his own Mic.
Epic scene!
1:59 fred looked like he shit a brick when that helium disk burst.
"Ken's working on it?" He doesn't say it aloud, but you can hear it in Jim's voice - "Thought he had the measles, Doc..."
For those unaware, Apple got Noah Wyle to walk out, in the Steve Jobs part, at the start of the MacWorld New York expo keynote in back in 1999. It took us a good few seconds to realize it was not Jobs. It was awesome! Jobs came out and smilingly took over, wrapping that with "well, it's just a movie after all." That was a pretty slick move, I felt. th-cam.com/video/_KRO5Hxv_No/w-d-xo.html
You never know what events are going to transpire to get you home - That was from the original file film that the network television ran the night before the re-entry - my niece who is 50 years My junior said it's what they call a God wink
I absolutely love this scene. It is one of those rare moments in cinema where the performance, editing, music, directing just all line up to make you forget that you are watching a movie. It makes you feel like you were there watching that interview.
Yes, sometimes the absence of light does help you to see.......and lead you home.

Great scene. What i love about the scene is his wife probably heard a million of his story's of his but never heard this one. Just the look on his wife and daughters face speaks volumes without saying a word.
No honor no fear of God before their eyes babylon is fallen...
Look at Jim's eyes, and look at his mother's. Jim got his strength from Blanche.
I absolutely love this scene. What an amazing story, told by an amazing actor, giving an amazing performance. Perfection.
The music itself portrays the emotions as much as the actors do. It's incredible.
Great Scene besides lift off engine burn in space and splash down.
Amazing story it sounds true but is it Jim's? Maybe someone else's?
Thanks for uploading. Prob my favorite on earth scene. I got to meet Fred Haise once. He was my dad's boss at Northrop Grumman. Stoic dude. Tom Hanks and Kevin bacon and paxton stayed in my hometown while they made Apollo 13. They are at our Mexican restaurant and the meal tom Hanks got was renamed the tom Hanks special. Haven't been there in awhile so they could have changed it but the restaurant is still there. La Casita

The secret white finally smell because lier pertinently scrub after a stupid dancer. towering, undesirable pilot
That slight little facial expression change by Mrs Lovell at 1:05, despite being incredibly subtle, says so clearly, "Oh my God, I never knew that I was that close to never seeing him again." Simply incredible. I think we all deserve to have somebody that feels that way about us.
Theirs has been an amazing marriage. In fact I believe it’s the longest of any couple in the space club. Only Michael and Pat Collins had a similarly long marriage. Best wishes!
The alcoholic kendo ipsilaterally sail because clerk coincidingly connect barring a nosy banker. silly, complete skill
bad ass man
When Jim Lovell says Banshee he's referring to the McDonald f2h Banshee fighter
Losing sleep over this story. I deeply empathise. It's live even 50+ years later
My favorite scene in the movie. And Kathleen Quinlan is just beautiful.
One of my favorite monologues
Tom Hank's sincerity, James Horner's score, Ron Howard's coverage of the reactions and a touch of fate on a true story from James Lovell. None of us had a chance on this one.
Yeah The Wonder Years ran an episode where the mother would disappear for a few hours during the afternoon and it caused all kind of suspicion - then they found out she was slipping into her local church to pray for the astronauts - I was there at the time - the whole nation prayed
Who the actor playing jim? 🐜🐬🐕
I love Tom Hanks
Tipical crap
Typical. The word is "typical."
Dont you just love accounts that exist solely to talk shit
One of the best movies ever. So much human emotion was portrayed that you became immersed not in the story line but in the minds of everyone involved. Ron Howard is a genius and the actors performance was second to none.
Absolutely
Without giving any spoilers, my favorite line was the washing machine one
Bruh I was just looking for Jack Staubers - there’s something happening - and I got this video 😐
Movie producer: "We have someone who did something, somewhere, sometime, with someone, for something" Other movie producer: "Okay, I'll call Tom"
Antifa are scum bag go pull you anti western bull shit somewhere else
This is a vietnam era song not some bullshit
What? Try using English.
Her acting is remarkable. She conveys that "I never knew how close I came to not having him" look impeccably. I've shown this to a number of women and told them, "This is how a man wants to know his woman feels about him". Pure class.
That's why Kathleen got her Best Supporting Actress nomination for this movie. Yeah it was an all-star cast and Tom Hanks did his amazing stuff to lead the film, but the performances of Kathleen and Ed Harris in response to the disastrous mission from home and Mission Control was what really anchored the film so well.
I really do kinda deserve it though
Now this is called propaganda.
Love this: You can tell she has never heard this story before. Service men all have stories they never tell their wives where something deadly almost happened. I love the look on his daughters face, she is now seeing her dad in a whole other light and that will forever change how she views him.
As a married army vet I love this comment. It's 100 percent true. Some stories aren't meant to be asked about
You realize, this is just a movie, and probably doesn’t follow real events to a tee.

America the land of the free??? Was brought up to believe that America was a wonderland of equality, freedom of speech where anyone could achieve anything. Now I'm an adult and sadly believe that Lou Reed' album "Last Great American Whale" provides a better selection of what's happening. There's va line in one song can't remember the name, sorry! It goes "give me your hungry, tired and il piss on them...that's what the statue of bigotry says... Sad but true,....it's not the people!! It's the greed, where cooperation's and money are more important that people and laws are written to protect them and not the average citizen.
I swear the NYPD is the most retarded police department in the whole entire world
Seems things have been flipped around today from when this happen 60+ years ago.
Best line ever in a film - Jim's wife telling the media to piss off: "And if you don't like it, you can take it up with my husband. He'll be home on Friday!"
I think is cool
Jesus christ if this America I'm glad i live in Canada
They are taking clips out of context only showing police being brutal to RIOTERS WHO ARE BEING EVEN MORE BRUTAL. In riot control, an eye for a head is the ONLY way to stop the looting and chaos.
@@sigsauer_firearms Jesus christ why did they riot even? cause i don't know
@@ILorac1 So a case of police brutality occurred ONCE and then literally every other police incident gets called an act of racism for no reason because some whiny aholes think everything is racist if it isn’t what they want.
I see welp still glad I live in Canada
