There are no mud games anymore. Everything today is so sanitized and generic.
I hate modern NFL football all domes and preening thugs dancing around after every play. This era was the best 1960/1970/1980's
Wow, that field was a quagmire. I miss those games. The NFL wouldn't permit it today.
Common sent me.
He was unstoppable know matter where he played. Would have easily been in the HOF if he didnt hurt his knee. He was a beast with the vikings too. 18 sacks in 89 at DT and Defensive player of the year in 89 also
Imagine him with Randy Moss and Chris Carter.
He is still my favorite Wolverine of all time and I think if he had played later at Michigan his records would be untouchable when he played we were predominately a running team
One of my favorite vikings ever.
the referees weren't even brainwashed on how to throw the flag yet!?!
He's why I wore 81 in high-school and all my custom Viking jerseys are #81.
Damn..had Darren Nelson not dropped a touchdown pass on the 1 yard line, the Vikings would have gone to the super bowl instead of Washington..
If bonehead Wilson would have threw it to Carter who was having the game of his life our Vikings would have went to the Super Bowl, where they would have probably choked again....sigh.......
TELL me about it!..it's like a death in the family..
@@tommyrobinetti7180 - hahaha - i been a hapless vikes fan since i was 8 in 1969, nothing but pain, when i get my hopes up everytime i end up like Brando at the end of Apocolypse Now, laying on the floor, curled up in fetal position, whispering the horror, the horror.....
@@hammer44head Haha! I FEEL you so much..
And, we could have had Marcus Allen…..
Chicken legs! Loved his play….
Gosh I miss Madden! Skinny little legs 🦵- hilarious…
Why isn't AC in the Hall of Fame? I think the NFL has a bias against guys that played in the USFL. AC needs to be in there......
As much as love ac, he isn't a hall of fame player. He had great 1987 playoff games, but that is it really
He made himself skinny going through the hole 😂
One of the greatest post seasons of any player in NFL history
That punt return was the first time I really thought we'd win this game. It gave me hope for the next week as well. What a great player. What a good team this was.
I wish the Vikings would go to the Super Bowl this year lol wish full thinking
Chris Walsh is a Minnesota LEGEND love him
Do you happen to have the full episode? Tuesday Weld is apparently on this episode and we have been trying to track it down for years.
Also seen him blow a afc title game
Browns #33 thanks for the playing and i love the personality on the Browns shows he guests on
I think the announcers are playing a game called “how many times can we screw up Leroy’s awesome quote?” They all won.
Leroy was fun to watch in 1998 season vikings killed my dreams that year
And the following week, he was even more spectacular vs the 49ers at Candlestick. The Vikings almost went all the way that year.
The Vikings receiver core didn't really compare to the Redskins. Washington had basically three #1 receivers in Monk, Clark and Sanders. The Vikings had a #1 receiver in Carter and two #3 receivers in Leo Lewis and Hasan Jones. During the Jerry Burns era the Viking always had tiny receivers and running back by committe. Herschel Walker actually had the exact same YPC with Minnesota that he had in Dallas. But Burns always wanted to sub in and out all his backs and split the carries 6 ways. ...just some random thoughts I guess
The Colts were such a dominant team in 1968. The following Sunday, they dismantled the Browns in Cleveland 34-0. It was an absolute shocker when they lost to the AFL’s Jets in the Super Bowl.
But then Joe Namath guaranteed it, and it changed the game...... forever
it was colder then as those beavers were hairy as heck. yea right, tom matte geek as. yell they heard
Johnny Unitas injured again.
My first year as a VIkings fan; I was a heartbroken little kid. I cheered up next season when MN got their revenge, with Kapp tying the all-time single-game passing TD record withh 7.
I remember that play and game, it was great day🙂
Ah, you omitted the best part. Burnsie mumbles "f*ckers" under his breath as he leaves the press conference. Best post-game press conference ever!!
Rest In Peace, Leonard Ray Dawson. June 20th 1935 - August 24th 2022. A man I would have liked to meet in real life. He clearly was as he desired to be seen a good man when all was said and done.
Why didn't he play free safety???
Mitch, you only played for the Steelers for one year but you left an impression. To this day, when someone asks who the punter is for the Steelers, I still think Mitch Berger? First.
he had the highest hip back then. longest legs. he was my moss back then. you give ac 10 yards free. he gunna leave ya.he was the best at the slant pass,,

By the time this commercial came out, Joe Kapp was playing for the New England Patriots
Thanks for the info!!!
They made a follow up where after they show the blades they come back and Dawson is sitting alone. They ask him "hey where is Joe Kapp and he responds " I think he went to change his uniform".
Such an underutilized back. If it wasn't for Robert Smith he could have been a 1,000 yard guy
She's A Cutie; for certain.
this is GOLD!
0:58. Hooray for CTE hits!! Hooray for BRAIN DAMAGE!
Propaganda
thats my uncle love xaviers
Bruns said a bad word.
AC needs to be in the ring of honor
I may be remembering wrong, but I think the reason AC went to the USFL was because he didn't want to play for the Vikings. After the USFL folded, he had no choice, the Vikings held his rights.
@@emptyhand777 the Miami Dolphins held his rights and traded him to the Vikings for a linebacker. He was projected to go in the first round of the NFL draft but opted to a lucrative contract with the Michigan Panthers and the Dolphins held his rights in the 12rd. I honestly think he would be in the NFL HOF if 1 he had 1 decent quarterback and 2 his USFL stats should be added to his professional career stats he was a beast. AC#1
@790theticket
The Vikings jerseys from the 60’s look better what they wear today….
I was at this game!
Love the interview
Was that Carl Ella on offense!
Carl was a two-way player in college playing on the OL as well as DE
Amazing rant and they won the game!
