Two years into his stewardship of the Carolina Hurricanes, general manager Ron Francis is certain what they need most: more skill. The Hurricanes finished 27th in scoring each of the past two seasons, leading Francis to not re-sign six forwards with an expiring contract. Carolina traded captain Eric Staal and Kris Versteeg prior to the 2016 NHL Trade Deadline, and allowed Riley Nash, Chris Terr...

We always remember the goat
That curve is so illegal lol but i ain’t telling
Hi
Prime nhl
I was at this game. It was Mothers Day. If you watch the Krieder breakaway goal I was the only blue jersey behind their goal. Right edge of the screen.
Love this
Holy f this was one of the most amazing perfomances/goals ever.
This music is cancerous
So sad he never got the chance to win the Stanley Cup. He was great enough!
This was actually Game 6
Wtf is this music 😂
Newsday headline next day shouldve been "Quine whips Floridas behind!".
I remember watching this live at a bar in Oakland, whole place knew it was going in as soon as he crossed the blue line
Back when Kreider used to score real goals on the regular and not stupid deflections
lmao what? Deflecting is a skill. It's not like they all bank in off his ass lmao. He still scores on the occasional breakaway, see Carolina G7 '22
52 goals remember that
I was there. It was awesome. 🔶🔷🔶🔷
That was a great Dallas season for the latter half of Spezza's career.
Mats Zuccarella
He is a keeper. Rangers should sign him long term
The goat
I love how Sheary is the last one to realize he scored
#2 goal by Kessel is my fav Phil goal to this day
Might have to recast this after Artie's GWG last night!
Seems like yesterday and Krieder was so fast and strong going to that net, he set the tone got game 7 and Stepan advanced us in overtime at the garden.
Fucking beast
I was there. It was awesome.
Great times cool to see he surpassed St. Louis in points now.
Don’t get me wrong. Ovi is still insane. But that 2009 50th goal shows how crazy his stick handling was in his prime. Jesus Christ
Will never forget the impact HBK had on that team. All time favorite line for me.
#1 goal is absolutely a penalty in today's game lol
Chills
This goal is crazy underated
it's one of his best and coolest looking plays ever and it was in double OT in an elimination game on the road; and had a cool celly after. definitely underrated bc they didn't win the series/Cup. i'd forgotten it started w him trying a wraparound, he must have had some scouting report or noticed that the goalie was vulnerable that way.
I feel bad for Henrik Lundqvist and he is Joel Lundqvist’s twin brother Henrik Lundqvist quit as a goalie and do schampo ads and Joel Lundqvist playing for Frölunda indians and did 1000 goals on he’s carrer.
Man, bring me back to the good days. Fuck I miss you Phill
Intentional!!)
Honestly, if Crosby and Kessel had switched series in which they dominated....like if Crosby had dominated the Tampa series like Phil did, and Phil had dominated the Sharks series instead of Crosby....there's no doubt in my mind that Kessel woulda won the MVP. He was the most dominant offensive player we had throughout the entire post-season stats-wise. However, I think that due to his captaincy, 2-way play, and how well he performed in the finals; they decided to give it to Sid.
If you look at hard stats in the finals, they both had four points but Kessel had a goal where Sid did not. There was no way they were going to give the Smythe to anyone else except Crosby. After his early Cup win, the NHL put all chips in on him because he was "The Next One". It took six years for him to get his second cup, the Canadian/NHL media were expecting for him to have had three by then if you listened to they way they talked back then. Kessel had just come from TO where he was bashed by media and team officials....the only way they weren't giving it to crosby is if he just didn't show up for the playoffs or someone else had insane numbers. Forget the fact is was some dude from Wisconsin that chugs Iced Caps, handfuls of cookies and then goes out and puts up almost a point per game in the playoffs. But I digress, i've been watching old episodes of Spittin Chiclets and the Phil Kessel stories were fantastic, so now I've been sitting here watching his highlights.
@@maggio556 yeah stats are stats, but Crosby absolutely dominated the Sharks. Best player on the ice for either team... defensively too in many situations. However, the Tampa series was by far the more difficult team to defeat, so..... The only other detriment towards Phil is that as a purely offensive winger he isn't going to have as much full-ice responsibility or be seen winning important face offs, etc.
I mean Sid had 3 game winning goals in the Tampa series too.
@@michaelshields6326 don't mistake me, Crosby might be the most clutch player in the history of hockey. I mean, the Golden goal??? But not a single person looking at the Vancouver Olympics would consider Sid the MVP. I think that overall, Crosby deserved the MVP in 2016. But considering how much Kessel's offensive production was vital to their win, I wouldn't have complained if they named Phil. And they might have if Sid hadn't looked so great in the finals.
Rick
When did that puck cross the line?
I think he should’ve been the captain
Loudest Barclays Center has ever been
1:38 Talk about bad luck. First the puck by the looks of it get deflected by the defenders skate up in the air and then another defenders stick get caught in Lundqvist helmet pulling the plastic protection up and letting the puck hit him in the neck/throat.
Swedens truth King!!
peak kane
St. Louis' most iconic goal
this might be the greatest moment of my life
My favorite game ever. Sadly Penguins was so much better in FInals and won in 6.

He’s da king
Lose the damn music!
That was my first ranger game. What a night.
Matteau, Matteau, Matteau! must not know Rangers history.
