Was funny cuz the 1st event u went to I didn’t recognize a single song & I was kind of surprised until u said it was mostly hip hop. Whew! Thought I was losing touch lol. But the 2nd event? Knew every song & most are on my playlist. 112, Cassie, Alicia Keys, Brandy & Monica & Boyz 2 Men of course. All right down my alley. Was it not achingly beautiful?? Interesting fact about the song. So the part where her baby is taken away. Lots of confusion by people as to what’s going on. You don’t live under a rock but you may not be familiar with Todrick Hall. Very well known gay American singer/choreographer/TH-camr. In 2018 he made an album that has 30 songs. Yes 30! He then did a musical “Forbidden” using all but one song from the album which he wrote, produced, directed, choreographed, sang & starred in. Omg he is SO GIFTED/TALENTED! What he did is flip the script. In the musical Blacks are the ruling race & Whites 2nd class citizens who are persecuted for being White. They live in Nacirema (American backwards) & same sex couples are the norm, while straight couples are illegal & subject to arrest & the death sentence if caught. So I was thinking “how do they have children?” Well the video for Lullaby is the exact same one in Forbidden. So babies are taken away from their mothers & given to these couples. It is well worth watching if you have a spare 90 minutes. Todrick also has a Cinderella music video with Brandy & he is obsessed with the Wizard of Oz & has a music video with Pentatonix called The Wizard of Ahhhs, where he uses modern songs in a retelling of the movie. All on TH-cam. All EXCELLENT! But Ms Brandy! Like I said, don’t know how I missed Lullaby but it’s my favorite song by her now. Not just her stunning vocals but her acting skills as well. I can’t understand how I missed it! You probably have heard it but if you haven’t, RUN don’t walk to play the video. Dear God. It literally, instantly brought tears to my eyes & you know I’m not a crier. Brandy’s stacks/harmonies are untouchable. No one comes close. No one. The texture of her voice, her tone, runs, riffs, timing, control, range…well you know. She is hands down my favorite female singer. Period. Few can invoke such passion when they sing but Ms Vocal Bible has been gifted by God & I’m so thankful I’m alive to hear it. I’ve heard 2 of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard today. This one & Gabriel Henrique’s “Tu Es”, which is a gospel song. What a glorious day this is! Again, if you can react to any of the songs I’ve suggested that would be amazing! I know you get a ton of requests but if u ever get a chance pls don’t forget about Dirty Loops. Most of their music is uptempo but 2 standout slow songs are Crash & Burn Delight (my personal fav) & Breakdown, which is much more well known. But Crash is achingly beautiful, the lyrics superb, and Jonah’s vocals amazing. There’s no video tho. It’s audio only. Other standouts of theirs are Rock You, Follow the Light, & Thriller. Yes THAT Thriller lol. Follow & Thriller are collabs with Cory Wong, a very famous guitar player. Fun fact: while it appears they are all playing together, they weren’t in the same country. They created 2 different sets exactly the same & spliced the footage together. You seriously would never know it! Oh & DL also just released a cover of Stevie Wonder’s Living for the City too. Dirty Loops only has 3 members: Jonah, keyboards & vocals, Henrik on bass, & Aron on drums. All 3 classically trained, all incredibly gifted & masters of their instruments, all elite musicians, truly the best of the best. They write, arrange, create & edit their videos themselves & let’s not forget Jonah does ALL the backing vocals himself. Just layers and stacks everything. Like Brandy. 😂 There’s only 1 song Henrik & Aron sing background & it’s Rock You. Anyway, could go on & on about them lol. Also, another MUST react if you haven’t already heard it is: I’m Not God by Tobe Nwigwe, Samoht & The National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center. Just so you’re not caught off guard Tobe uses the “N” word a lot in his rap. Something I admit I had a little chuckle about because the Kennedy Center is one of our most prestigious organizations & I can guarantee that is the 1st time that word has EVER been used there. Hi sweetie! Continuing on with all the things u & I have in common… I hate dresses lolol. I think since I wore my wedding dress back in 1989 I’ve worn only 1 or 2 since. 🤣 My mom was VERY feminine. Wore dresses all the time. Very much into fashion. Was very creative and gifted artistically (like her dining room table always looked like she was about to throw a dinner party, with the cloth napkins turned into swans lol). She had impeccable taste. She sewed, crocheted, cooked everything from scratch (oh how I miss her cooking, especially around the holidays) and was a size 2 her whole life. I am NONE of those things. 😂 She sewed dresses for me when I was in elementary school. HATED wearing them. I would die a lil bit inside every time she dragged me to the sewing shop to get material or patterns lol. Couldn’t wait to get out of there! Oh and sewing class in junior high is the only class I almost failed. The only reason I didn’t is because she sewed a jacket for me and I turned it in as if I did it. 😂 She & I were polar opposites in pretty much everything lol. I used to feel bad about that. Like maybe I was a disappointment to her because I was the biggest tomboy EVER. I was always climbing trees, trying to keep up with my brother & his friends, playing in the mud, etc. lol. I was never a disappointment to her. That is how I felt. Not her. We were extremely close & I miss her every day. Black clothing is probably 80% of my wardrobe. Love how it slims & hides flaws. I don’t own anything white. Hahahahaha. Ok, maybe a T-shirt. 🤣 I am also plus sized but am actually losing weight (37 lbs so far, Yay!) thru dieting. I love walking but unfortunately am dealing with an injury that prevents me from doing so right now (for exercising). I can walk normally. I am just really mindful of the food I eat & it’s working. Always hated how the lbs are so easy to add up but so difficult to come off. ESPECIALLY as we get older. Ugh. Lastly my love may I just say how proud I am of you for posting this. It takes COURAGE to show the world your body type when it’s NOT like the models you showed in the catalog, ESPECIALLY on a platform like YT, where potentially tons of people can view it. I would NEVER do what you’re doing. Talk about stepping out of your comfort zone. As old as I am, I still try to work on my growth as a human being every day & I do challenge myself but there are limits lol. You set a goal, you’re sticking to it & I just think that’s WONDERFUL. You already are reaping some of the benefits by trying new things & finding out they’re not as bad as you feared. It will all culminate in growth and self love, something we as females so desperately need in this world of worshiping what’s on the outside rather than focusing on what truly matters…who we are on the inside. Hi sweetie!! My thoughts on this vlog & other things as well! 1st of all, I’m so sorry u & your bestie were ill right b4 u were due to start your trip. Couldn’t have been a worse time. I was deathly ill the 1st 3 days of my honeymoon so “been there, done that”. Soooooo not fun. Loved so much about this. Like your Costa Rica vlog u gave me a few chuckles. Gurrllll getting locked in the room? I was on the floor! 🤣 I’ve always wanted to go to Greece, altho I’m not sure why lol. Maybe it’s cuz I’m a huge gyros fan! Would be amazing to have one while actually in Greece. Can I just say at the 17:29 mark how absolutely beautiful you look?? Glowing doesn’t begin to cover it. You’re radiant!! 😍 The venues all looked fantastic & the music was stellar! Aaliyah. Back & Forth. Have loved her from the 1st time I heard her sing that song. 😭 I must admit tho I was exhausted when u were talking about your sched, much less actually doing it lol. Ah to be young again! I’ll just live thru u. Hahaha. Giving u props again for your video skills. I feel like I’m there! Hated for it to end. I swear we’re twins. Both musically & life in general. I get ridiculous mad blues when Xmas & New Year’s are over & to some extent vacations as well lol. I live for Xmas. My mom made it sooo special! As soon as Halloween hits, oh it’s on! I’m in full blown holiday season til I crash & burn Jan 2nd. 😂 So about me…I would love for us to be related however I was adopted at 13 months & never met or knew my biological parents. I requested medical info from the agency but at that time things were way different & they were not forthcoming. They did give me some info about them, without divulging their identities. He was Blk, she was White. A 1 night stand kind of thing. He left the state rite away upon finding out she was pregnant. Nice guy. She gave me up for adoption, for which I will always be eternally grateful to her. She could have easily had an abortion. She had no romantic connection to him. My adoptive parents gave me a far better life than she ever could & she loved me enuf to let me have it. She had 4 kids b4 me, all in foster care or living with her parents. My parents were a police officer & teacher, respectively. They had a son who is 5 yrs older than I, then adopted me cuz my mom was advised not to have more children. She was tiny & giving birth was very hard on her. I was married 15 yrs. Now I’m not lol. I love being single but I’ll let u in on a lil secret. I have a soul mate out there that I’ve known for about 32 yrs. He’s currently married but we are DEF meant to be. Unfortunately timing & circumstances have always worked against us. Once a year however, either in Dec or Jan, he calls & we catch up. It’s been that way for years. I am very respectful of his marriage & am not the “other woman” kind, although we live only a few hours apart. We both were happily married when we met as coworkers so we were friends for a long time. Always something incredible between us from the jump tho. That remains to this day. Sigh. Lol. Btw to continue with the theme how alike u & I are, I also collected shot glasses when I traveled. No lie. I about fell out when u said that in your vlog. You & I have a connection as well sweetie. 💜 I’m an open book & don’t mind sharing info about myself with you. Will save more for later. Right now want to talk a lil bit about Ms Cleo lol. Never heard of her before. Wow! What a voice! I don’t always like to compare artists to other artists but she reminds me a lil bit of Tamia, another HUGE fav of mine. Ty so much for the recommendation! Honestly, there’s not a song I don’t like on the “mother” album. I’m glad your “soulmate”, “not soulmate” told u about her. So u could tell me lol.
