Grandson of a navy veteran rest in peace grandfather uss wasp cv-7.
I am listening to this while preparing for my father’s funeral, where it will be sung again in recognition of his years in the USN. The generations of service was a lynchpin of his life and thinking about the world. Thanks for sharing this.
This piece was sung at my Mother's service; she was a WAVE in the 1950s. My father was a Naval Aviator when they met in Pensacola.
Having been a Sailor of the United States Navy and a vocalist, I love this song.
Absolutely wonderful performance!
AMEN !
My Mom was briefly in the Navy in WWII. I had it sung at her funeral.
this hymn is the most important of all hymns
All sailors deserve to have the Navy Hymn played at their funerals! RIP to all my departed shipmates!
Thank you for your service, Chief. Army 94B/92G here (cook)
My brother and I remember it from elementary school, he hadn’t heard it in years and didn’t know the name. The first clip I sent proved I knew exactly what he was remembering. We are now just waiting for Dad’s internment with our mother at ANC. The band will definitely be playing it!
Wow!
Brother Park, thank you so much for posting this magisterial male choral video! Gamsahamnida. So beautiful - I would bet the dead of our men of valor are singing with them. 🙏🏽
Beautiful, simply beautiful.
This is a wonderful group of male singers.❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
I LOVE a good mens choir!!! 💕♥️
I agree, this song should only be sung by all males.
Extraordinary! Operations Specialist Petty Officer First Class US Navy Retired
Thank you for your service. I completed my 4 year enlistment in 1970 as an RD2.
@@edwinschwartz2472 I got drafted and chose to enlist Navy instead in 1970. Four years later I was offered $10k to re-up. In 1978 I was offered another $10k. By then I might as well go 20. Did that and stayed another 3 and got out. Didn't want to go back to sea. Thank you for your service as well!
My Dear Friend Larry Rubright passed away this morning. The COB served in the USN for 31 years attaining the rank of Sr. Master Chief. It seems appropriate that he hears THE NAVY HYMN one last time! May you have Calm Seas and a Following Wind on your last voyage Master Chief 😢
May your friend rest in peace.
Thank you for your kind wishes!
@ Thank you for your kindness! I hope you and your family have a blessed Holiday season!

Amen!!!
I’m academy grad, class of ‘94. I was a prior enlisted Marine. One of the things that impressed me most was diversity of midshipmen. I’m not talking about race or sex. Geography, background, beliefs. Diverse yet drawn to service & the heritage of the USNA. Most of these kids could go to school anywhere & be anything. To choose this means something.
Way to sing, NAVY! A West Pointer from many decades ago salute you. Job well done. Thank you for your service in the greatest Navy of all time. Keep the faith.
YES! YES YES YES!!! I LOVE THE ORIGINAL WORDS! And they are so fitting for an army of soldiers to sing!!! "As HE died too make men holy let us die to make men free"!!! It's a sober truth of war that I believe is glossed over when the original words are changed to say "let us live". I don't like war, but this is a battle song that carries so much important history and it must not be altered to fit the times. This song is to be sung as written!!! Wonderful!!!
My father was a Navy man. How beautiful is this hymn of remembrance. I know that I will see him someday.❤
As beautiful as this is keep in mind that right now the United States military is ACTIVELY HELPING sexual perverts gain access to children. Think about that for just one moment. Almost all Americans stood silently by while thousands of Iraqi children were murdered and maimed. Very sadly, it seems America is experiencing Karma ... you reap what you sow ...
My brother seved in the Navy 20yrs. My cousin served during WWII, two uncles served during WWI. I guess would call us Navy, but had relatives in Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines, and even Merchant Marine during WWII. Very military family we are proud of all served.

Superb!
not sure if this is a glee club thing but what is the purpose of "Galory Galory" and the other extra "uh' vowels.
I think the Franz Biebl composition of Ave Maria is beautiful. I was at this concert. The sound is amazing when glee club members sing from the other side of the room. Do you by chance have video of the Navy Blue and Gold performance, where alumni participated, and if so, could you please post? Thanks in advance.
This hymn was sung at the funerals of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The former served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy during the First World War, and the latter served in the Navy during the Second World War.
Dad served in the Navy (43-68). Mom was a Navy WAVE during WW2.
Victory at Sea!
God bless the USA Navy and all who have crossed the bar. Beautiful arrangement and performance

Proud to have served in the US Navy, it was an honor and privilege. May GOD give this sailor rest. The Sea remembers it’s own.
Biden’s administration is going to destroy this institution as well. FJB.
Blessed are the Navy Seals for they take lives not to be Brash and cocky but they take lives to save lives and may they continue to protect our country God bless the men Who were the badge of the eagle and the trident
A British hymn
Wonderful singing. This choir really brought these 2 hymns to life.

Absolutely gorgeous
I love this. It was in the soundtrack for Crimson Tide

One of the greats for Memorial Day weekend Sunday.
Truly Beautiful !!!
Eternal Father, grant, we pray To all Marines, both night and day, The courage, honor, strength, and skill Their land to serve, thy law fulfill; Be thou the shield forevermore From every peril to the Corps.
One of my favorites. So appropriate for our Navy.
Naval Hymn. Part of beautiful Psalm 107. I first heard this played when I was 6 years old watching JFK's funeral.
Me too my brother at the Academy sang it as JFK's cassion rolled by.

Here lies the bones of poor Tom Bowling, the Captain of our crew - and now has gone aloft….
Beautiful
Their diction sets them apart
As does this fantastic pianist!
