Hello I'm planning to come to landstar for the New Year wit my own reefer trailer can you Show me what they are paying?
What areas would you like to see ?
@Ctrucker i'm just driving watching a few of your videos Well, I live in Miami, Florida, so Atlanta, Chicago, Texas, Indiana, Ohio pretty much Midwest.
@truckingwithperry5799 you got I'll work on that tomorrow
Don’t forget basically almost.80-1.00 for the Landstar cut from that rate. Looks good now , till you have to find back haul 😂.
Thank you for sharing.
@jupj1 anytime that's what I'm here for
What’s the percentage Landstar takes?
@@eddiemartinez3022 35%LS and 65% to you
👍😎👍
I just did this last month. Super easy and efficient.
That's awesome congrats
Hey, btw what was the last number you talked about on the video? I couldn’t understand what you said.
Mercer or Landstar?
I would say mercer only if you're doing flatbed the higher percentage and pay after every load
@@Ctrucker ok appreciate it!
You meant Landstar took their trailer.
Landstar is the joke
Hopefully you are getting at least $1700 round trip from CT to MD. I run this lane and it cost me $300 in tolls
@mruff4034 it paid $1900 wasn't bad took the longer route back 287 less tolls
"Crypto" us a speculative instrument not an investment
Well how much have you made?
Use the app
Going to premier next week in Joplin…
A. It's NOT YOUR TRAILER. B. Uncle Landstar Can TAKE THEIR TRAILER Anytime They Want. 8 Days Of NON USE And They WILL SEND A DRIVER FOR IT! C. You Can Prevent This By OWNING YOUR OWN TRAILER. SIMPLE. Happens All The Time, You're Not Being Singled Out... 😁
10 days. Then book load same day it restart the clock.
How did you navigate the 1st in 1st out rule at Mercer I’m heading there next week Thanks
It can be hard to stack loads i just ran where people didn't want to go lol like the north east. Only time you feel it is if you go to Florida,California, or a area where they have a dedicated customer just might have to DH further. Ps: make sure you set you set your miles to 999 so you see everything this trick helps
😳 New York Giants 😂😅🤣
We are trash lol
Never had a issue with Landstar taking my trailer when I did dry van but nobody could get to my house either 😂.
Yeah I should have fought a little more on that
@Ctrucker Landstar tried twice to get my trailer but both BCO'S couldn't find the truck route to get to my house and I wouldn't tell them 🙃. I do stepdeck now so it ain't a issue
Keep them coming. I’m interested!!! lol😂
Hell yeah. A simple breakdown the game plan really rounds off the edges 🎉
👍😎👍
Maybe you could schedule a live stream.Doing load board requests or a vlog including them. I'd like to see loads out of Indy + 100 dry van miles but searching during early weekdays when stuff is hitting the board, thanks!!
@ThatOneGuy-hp2pb need 1000 subscribers before I can do a live stream but I can definitely do loadboard videos
@@CtruckerI thought the same 1000, but you can go live at 25 . Try it let me know. To answer your buddy . Indiana the hotspot for any company. Landstar Midwest the cash spot.
Hey, good luck to you. If it doesn't work out come over to Crete carrier
@@muskratjoel are you at Crete if so company or Owner operator?
@@hustleman7452I'm just a company driver pretty happy here. Been with them 5 years
Hey Brother. I’m up here in Waterbury. If possible can you show content running loads for Landstar on the NorthEast Region.
Like loadboad video ??
@ It can be Loardboard videos or loads you choose to get out of Connecticut.
Trailer was in your possession, it was your responsibility.
I ran with Land star from 2002 till I retired in 2009. I found its all about getting a good relationships with a few good agents. Ran semi dedicated route from Florida to EL Paso or Tucson and back for years, very little complaints . All drop and hook, very little waiting around until 2008 when the entire industry slowed down and loads went away. Landstar took good care of me, treated me more than fairly. Guess things have changed?
Personally i'd like to start a class action law suite against Mercer , not only for the unlawful way they they have discharged people but how many have they discriminated against in their hiring practice,, MERCER DOES DISCRIMINATE !!!!!!!!
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO YOUR NEVER AWAY FROM YOUR BUSINESS !!!!!!! Even if your stuck on a slow boat to China you always know what is going on with your business Period!!!!!! now that is said what i'd do is go to someone there at Mercer HR person or higher & i'd try to reimburse Mercer for their loss & recovery of their trailer & equipment,, just to duck out from your equipment you shouldn't leave a business partner in the lurch,,, at least inform them where their equipment is even if you didn't have the funds or capability of help to return their property to them,, even being out of the country you should be able to get intouch whit the police to find out where your equipment was ,,,, you need to change your business mind buddy or you'll be lick'n the bottom of the trash can again
I don't get it. I work for small fleet and do 4k +consistently leasing my Truck to a carrier with 20 trucks. I was doing Van for Hummer 90% drop hook and cleared 4k week. At Hummer my FSC covered my fuel in a S60 Detroit Coronado I actually made .07 off the fuel and nothing was light. In total I did 139 in 7months or approx . $20K p/month with a total of 10 weeks hometime. Parked the truck over medical. Now I'm back in the game with a diff carrier pulling same numbers . Small carriers are hungry like you they gotta move good freight to grow or they're out of business so hook your truck to their wagon and make money it's that simple. I drive a 2016 Coronado Glider, it's not aero by any stretch. Small carriers low Dot numbers that use less than 15% of brokers for backhauls you can succeed in trucking no matter the economy. My brother does local and home every night pulling 1k gross ($100 hr) a day 10hr a day 5 days a week or 6 if he wants . Truth be told he's probably pulling freight you dropped and making more on it than you did on 800 mi trip. Insane so many truckers struggle because they look at the name of a company instead of looking at their operating procedures. You think landstar cares if 20% of you sit for days ?. Nope their business model is designed for downturns . Small carriers don't have that luxury. I been Trucking for 34 yrs never owned my authority, always lease to a carrier for CONSISTENCY . Remember Low DOT # Small Carrier = PROFITS. A bad week for me is 3500. I usually see them when taking time off or really bad weather that's it. How about you.
Landstar old news it’s better companies to lease under now.
Im definitely seeing that all about the medium-sized fleets. Can't wait for the truck show this year 🙌
Im leaving Mercer in a few days taking their trailer back and F them!
Don’t stack loads. I’m in eastern pa and killed it with van. I always wait until last minute for loads. Especially with van these so much volume.
Yeah, I've had so much issues even with booking like that not even to hit 5k a week alot of broker trash and rate changing
@ I had great luck pa nj to Midwest and back. Sometimes into the south. Never fl though. Tires, hazmat, and multi stop where my go to
I just want to say shout out to all truckers we make the world go around so protect 1 another and have courtesy to each other u never know . Stay up yall!
Well said 🙏
I read some of the comments mostly about agents don't worry about it there's plenty of agents to work with find your route that you love to work with plenty of work to get done I have been with star for about 7 years already yes the first three years was more like getting to know how to the system work and now I don't look back instead I find that most of the time I don't look at the load Bord unless I choose to go out of route my agents cant reload me on a time or too far out avoid dead area where there's too many trucks and not enough freight for everyone that's why you see low rates but of all you will overcome all this
Been trying to build with most of these agents, My advisor has told me to reach out too which have unsuccessful and I've done my own research with lane match and still no good. I was down in GA the other day I called 6 agents who said they had dedicated freight and nothing
Happy holidays to you and yours family stay safe 🙏
Thank you same to you
Happy thanksgiving buddy
Thanks same to you and yours
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Was over Windsor CT on Tuesday myself delivering and back home in the Catskills now for a few days. Chem-X are having a truck show for Toys for Tots next Saturday the 30th . In Agwaam MA just south of Springfield near CT line. Bob has a big TH-cam following so as you seem to be a clean freak like myself you will appreciate his products. His interior cleaner is the best I have used since I started in 98’. If you go I’ll keep an eye out for you.
Thanks you very much 🤙🏻 maybe I can get the old lady to make a trip to mass for the show
👍😎👍Happy Thanksgiving brother.
Thanks brother
Does your wife have a single sister? Bazzamn Ta-Dao
Yeah lol but way too young 🤣
@@Ctrucker I'll wait, saving dowry
The blue star you only get 68 % my wife help an agent us not ls made more than $ lotas luck
I think I turned down the load going to Henderson
Was it the load from Florida to Nevada ? 8500. It needs alot of pads, straps and some other bs. Then driver took for 6500 .
I was told 20 straps 40 pads
Damn
Well at least you have them now for future loads and can sell yourself as a Pad wrap securement Ninja.
@flyingpaddy7525 true that 🤙🏻
@ always look for the positives. A old hand told me one time “ If your willing to be disappointed everyday you will have a great career in trucking”
Mercer is Land star
One agent told me the same shit 20 strap. The shipper put their own straps. I return mine to pilot
@Smithftrans876 the blankets made no sense at all was just a waste of my money now I have 13 blankets that are all torn up lmao
U guys should carry straps and use uhaul for blanket if you don't want to purchase
Harbor freight was much cheaper on the blankets
Was that direct freight or some broker bs freight? I had an issue like that and reported it to Landstar and ended up getting $600 extra because it wasn’t in the paperwork.
No, it was a dedicated customer it wasn't in the ratecon
Thats what landstar told you it was direct freight. Alot of there freight is double brokered.
👍🤘
👍😎👍
Step 1 is go be a company driver for a while. 2-3 years at least. Make sure you like trucking. Save money. Don't even think about being an owner op without $20-$30k in the bank. Don't come into this without a healthy maintenance account. The biggest reason so many people fail is they start with nothing, go deep in debt, the truck breaks down and it's in the shop for a month and the bill is $10,000 and they're done.
@A_A_Ron_G very well said, brother. I absolutely agree 👍🏻
Come to roadrunner bro, you’ve got to do a lot of running but you’ll get paid
