ha. that’s funny. i cited this scene in my book.
yes, the whole world is like that now i'm still looking for a place to escape that isn't the woods
Could you imagine drinking a beer with this buzz kill talking?
I remember seeing this on British TV one Friday afternoon in the 80's when was off sick from school.
Vote however you want. The screen in your hand is the most repulsive and dangerous thing in your life.
But it taught me to forgive my mother and to love myself.
I rebuke their message
Findhorn? Really? Land of my father
Yeah Wally!
1:30 Foucault’s Panopticon
We are the only animals that are not automatic allowed to live with nature freely without obligation.
Surely at 2:22 a trigger alert is needed.
I heard that monologue a couple decades ago in a song, a punk rock song I think, and never knew where it came from.
Wow, this is profound.
I’m fourteen and this is deep 😂 This is the way it’s always been. It’s the human condition. There has always been these guys too that think they have it all figured out. Wallace Shawn’s skeptical piercing gaze was the only thing that got me through this video
Shawn's character is a great counterbalance to Andre in the movie, skeptical and, not wanting to step on toes, but still gives his acquaintance some pushback. It's a delightful movie.
Even way back then, many ppl thought we were living in a simulation of some type, even though they didn't have the words to really describe it. Now with computer simulations everywhere, it's easier to see why that may be the case.
Wally: “Andre…what in God’s name are you talking about!?”
Its breaking. The sheer weight of our institutions cannot be supported by us because of our complacency and therefore collapse, letting the real world flood in. The real question is are you fighting to hold the walls up, getting ready to use your fellow people’s bodies as a raft as you capitalise on their misfortune because you want to be the warden of the next prison, or building a boat for everyone to ride it out on?
this is exactly it.
"The 1960s represented the last burst of the human being before it was extinguished" lol probably, yeah
Two men from 1981 talking about 2024. Interesting
Not really, that's just you being easy to play! The simple fact of buying into that drivel make you look like an idiot
I think ur a little bit biased, since you're living in 2024 😂
I'm pretty sure they had the same conversations already in Ancient Rome, on their level of course, as they didn't yet invent things like concentration camps and lobotomy.
Society is both a cage AND a fortress. You feel imprisoned by what you have built ? Spend a night lost in the woods
This is what it's like talking to conservatives in 2024 honestly.
Inconceivable.
Beat me to it, lol
"Do you want me to take you back to where I found you? Unemployed in Greenland!?"
Jeezus! The medium swallows its own tail in this solipsistic crapola. Who wrote this self absorbed garbage?
now watch all the cretins in the comments being all pretentious about it
I think he's supposed to sound like a pretentious twat
Has contrast ever enriched anyone’s life? Or has it merely diluted you into complacency? You think you’re a hero for pointing this out, but the illusion is meager unwarranted and unwelcome. Pandora’s box was opened and this is the result. All of your contrasts, your illusions they lead to the same place. Given enough time you realize what we all are. Truly alone.
@@Tribophopic That was cheerful!🤣
But what is your point. I agree in part with what you're saying, but your comment appears vague. How should we view this clip with the world as we know it as the backdrop? In short, is there a friggin' way out?
Wait, is this just what happens to you in your 40s? Am I basic?
One of the greatest movies than no one ever saw...
I saw it twice, and the part about leaving struck me in particular.
A lot of people saw it when it came out, but that was 45 years ago.
Me when AI art:
We all live in our own prisons Brendan.
I jumped out of my seat when I saw this in the theater.
that was long time ago? how did you managed to go on while being so gullible and prone to jumping out of your seat like a moron?
The film is my dinner with Andre
All you have to do is become a doer. That just requires making the hard choices.
But how?
@@goose_esooge Decided on a goal. Make a plan to achieve that goal. Collect everything you need for that plan. Execute the plan. Repeat.
Yeah @socalrefrigeration, sounds so easy, doesn't it. And the external noise, the naysayers, the navigating self-distrust? We all have a good idea of what to do or how to do it. What scuppers progress is the inertia representing ourselves.
Robots are good doers.
@@robertsutherland7378 And people are good complainers. Some people never leave the crib.
Came across this video by mistake, it has a certain ring to it. Worrying
yeah, your cretinism is indeed worrying, i mean its just a movie

excellent work good sir.
:)
Beautiful spot .
It's summer time.😊
Where did you get the seeds ? I see seeds available of a variety that looks similar to yours at Baker creek but I'm not certain it's the exact same variety. On their site the pictures show plumes that aren't as vibrantly colored as your variety.
I bought mine off Amazon, all colors.
@@kittybeard5379 , don’t like mixed color seed. Want a solid color.
Super inspiring man ❤
I love that someone else is sitting around doing the math on the abundance of seeds. I figured it out starting with just one corn seed and in just seven years the numbers are so high that I don't even know how to pronounce it. Last summer I grew Hopi blue corn, hopi pink corn and Hopi black dye sunflower. I went to the fair and gave away hundreds of packs of them. Some are going to Nigeria, some to Peru, and I even gave some to a guy who turned out to be an industrial corn farmer from the midwest. I think the special corn is going to touch that guys heart once he grows it. its strange to think that out of 200,000 people, I was the only one walking around giving away seeds. just imagine if everyone did it! I only had a few dozen plants too, and look how insanely abundant that was!
Thank you Gavin for your stuff!
How did it turn out? How is the taste? How is the color? I just started my first mead using black gojis. It turned very dark almost brown like dark prune juice. 😅
How did the potatoes do as a companion plant, very interested 🤔
I actually got a surprising amount of sweet potatoes from that same bed that year (and a few pounds on fingerling potatoes too). If you build the soil deep enough there is a lot of potential for companion planting and stacking functions with limited square footage. I don't know if youtube will let me put a link in the comments here but i`ll try in a separate comment so you can see the amount of Sweet potatoes I harvested that grew underneath the the roots of those Amarnath plants that year
