Seeing those amazing SD70's are heart warming, But Hearing them is just Bliss !
BETTER 😊THAN WATCHING FORREST GUMP! 👍 thank you 🧑🎤 🏁 👩💼👩🎓
A UP cab ride! Super cool!😎
Magnificent audio.
I'm surprised the conductor didn't step off his train and do a roll-by of the passing train.
WAY MANY TIMES BETTER THAN CHEAP PROJECTORS
Cool video!
Wish I could ride for real!!!
Are crews able to give cab rides?
In a post 9/11 world....hell no
@@AbelG8781 This was filmed in 2007 so apparently it's still possible. But post-9/11 no doubt it is much harder to do. There are probably all kinds of hoops to jump through before they let you step foot in a yard.
@@GearheadExplorer85 True. I know most older cab rides were made before cell phones were super advanced lol
@@AbelG8781 Yes they were and I miss those days.
Nope, unless you’re talking short lines, all class ones have inward facing cameras, and have rules against non railroad personnel in the cab
This poor engineer, this must be his first trip. I remember my first run. 😆
How can you tell a newbie??
Defect Detector messages at 19:54 and 29:06
you have to do maintenance, lubricant the turbine that makes the noise, and offcourse use more big or larger hoses.
Did he say it's only a 4 MPH train?
40
Какой красивый пейзаж,озеро,горы.так красиво!
I agree
Those EMDs can sing when they notch up
Unfortunately poor focus.
That is due to the early technology of personal "camcorders." The cameras these days have improved exponentially in quality, and the media used to store the video for future viewing has vastly improved.
Bruh....this was 2007. Ain't nothing HD back then.
What year?
Click bait. No leaves being blown by the motors on the drone AND that's indoors... smh
I never seen a Union Pacific EMD SD70M with a Comfort Cab Design, Similar to the Canadian National SD75I's. Usually, I seen UP SD70M's with a Widecab Desktop Style Control stand.
These were later versions. It threw off too seeing one with this interior.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Good video - shame the operator kept adjusting the engine governor every 20 seconds - the train is 5300 feet long which is just over a mile! constant engine speed adjustments are meaningless with that sheer tonnage. Anyways it was a god intro and the following videos were great also - not a criticism at you but a word to the not so wise operator
I was the operator.. When you pull out of a 10MPH yard at 1% ascending grade, It's the way we do it pal.
@@DATCAPITAL You used to work out of Roseville in the late 90s for a while?
Pretty sad sounding....lol
As an engineer, 17:14 is where the excitement begins
@hawtchick69 Stopping is one of the most rewarding parts when done well. Smoothly stopping a train with all the slack stretched feels really nice in the seat.
@hawtchick69 far as I could tell without being there. He had the throttle open only grabbing a couple pounds at a time. Then very light fan of the IBV.
@hawtchick69 lol ya think? I mean maybe if you’re working a switcher and you’re dropping your foreman at a switch. But if you’re gonna be sitting for a while and have a big train, why not take your time and be comfortable?
@hawtchick69 I’m more worried about a run in and jack knife, or rolled rail. Or something else to take me out of service
Someone back in the day wasn't thinking clearly when it came to installing the telephone poles on the side with the water. Awesome video.
Пхахаха!🤣Я тоже эти столбы заметил и думал о них много вариантов.ВиФи перебили?)))
Those aren't telephone poles.
Those pole lines had a couple pair of wire for running the signaling system and power for float charging all the batteries. And a couple spare wires. The rest were usually left over from depreciated functions, but essentially abandoned in place. Before PTC, a pole line really only needed 6 wires to do its job correctly.
He's not sugesting to inject it, he's sugesting to do further research into changing it to work in humans. Not that it's much smarter but let's not create false information.
Lol....u can see when the shock hits her 😂
You're a bad boy Duane, growing weed in your garden - better watch out for the cops.
It's legal here.....
Just joking with you Duane, I enjoy your videos - keep them coming.
Super video! Why the different modes bettween CNandW and UP? (cut out) thanks!
Cab signals
Cnw cab signals were omaha to chicago only. up cab signals were everywhere else. In the last 4 months, cab signals were eliminated with ptc.
@@bigvan98 Thank God. Standardized systems are better.
Any videos climbing oak ridge?
Really enjoyed riding along!! Thanks for sharing this cool video.
dam rite!! long live union pacific!! sweet vid pard ty!
Nice. I like this!
I am very surprised by how quiet the train is. I would have thought it would be much louder than it is. Now I understand how they can sneak up on people. And this one was going slow!
When its going fast you can hear the roaring sound so if you don't hear it, it will blow it's horn for you to get out of the way
Great video, nice catch. How fast do these locomotives go I mean top speed notch 8. They are going so slow, when can they start speeding up.
All about weight. Some loaded may not be able to exceed 40 depending on how much power is online.
Charles, the train isn't going as slow as it looks in some places. The speed indicator in some shots shows 40 mph, but it looks like 15 or 20 because the person shooting the video is zoomed in so much on the forward view. Zooming in like that compresses the image so much that it makes the movement seem much slower. Look at 21:00 thru 21:10 and you'll see what I'm talking about. Hope that helps.
To "make the train go faster" increase your TH-cam playback speed to 1.5. (Under settings.)
What's the name of this song? Love it
Lmao hahahahahaha what the hell??
This is around the east side of Klamath Lake, in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Awesome Job!!!!!! Thanks for making this all in one video now. :)
+J Trane You're Welcome!!
+Duane Taddei how do you get cab rides? I want to get one
I work on the Railroad. If you are a media representative you can contact the Railroad directly and try that route

the video editor I used messed up. I have been unable to figure it out.. I'll spend a Little time on it tomorrow
Why does the bell always start ringing ? why did the video stop at 2 min 11 sec?

+Stan Wilson The bell starts ringing before the crossings... Is this what you were asking??
Thank you
The law requires the bell to begin at the whistle board which is the post with the "X" and the horn to begin blowing between 15-20 seconds before entering the crossing.
You're Very Welcome
and why is there a cutout of him at the end of the video holding on to those 2 girls???
who's Haley??
