I just learned the song by ear so I know its not accurate and I dont play it quite the way he does, but its least an index of the positions he plays the song in. The tuning is EBEBEB if I remember correctly. Its pretty easy to play once you get that straight. I know its a sloppy try, but anyway. enjoy

Red House Painters - 24 (demo)

An early demo take of this song, probably from around 1991-1992. Quite alike the version that later came out on Down colourful hill. Brilliant song!
Where did you get this recording?
So Rare, Biblical.
This is included in a few songs perhaps recorded on a tape, " oldness comes with a smile " or wathever...
that was a fan album. this was from a demo tape that contained what became Down Colorful Hill recordings. It’s only official release is in the “early demos” compilation
Bizzarely, I came across a track by Los Angeles duo Wreck & Reference that samples Headsore. The track is called ' What Goes In And Comes Out'. It's a great track.
Sigur ros thumbnail?
This is angelic
2020 and i love so much this song. From México :)
Damn I wish I could find a guitar tab for this version.. it's so brilliant
Anyone know the chords?
Wow, great find. Thanks for the upload.
That independence day oh my God 😍
Fucking terrific
Thank you thank you
Poor quality, a terrible upload
I wish this made it on Down Colorful Hill.
Me too. It's such a gorgeous song.
lovely
Lost Verses
Kul att det finns några samspråkiga som gillar Marks musik :)!
this is like The Smiths on morphine mmm
Good work! Keep growing!
Patrick McEveety this is one of the most wholesome comments I've ever seen
This is from the Noe Valley Ministry SF 12/95
21 should be having fun
OH PLEASE NOT TODAY NOT THIS MORNING IM TIRED OF THE SAD THINGS YOU SAY
It's from an old tape which is the reason all the tracks sound like they're in a higher key to how they appear on DCH which will have been mixed from the master tapes
Could I get a source for some of these pictures? The one pic of the two light houses around the five minute mark is giving me the chills
Interesting drumming pattern and syncopation with the obscure sounding guitars in this heavy piece of work, such broken rhythms but yet heavily rhythmic.
Das ist sehr gut. Haben sie eine Guitar Tab?
great, maybe I'll get to it in a day or two! :)
there definetly is an interest!!! Here!
listening to mark truly makes me understand the meaning of solace. thanks for the post. take care all
Wow he really got it together in Sweden and preformed awesome!
@djcarro cheers indeed! I have like 15 more parts to upload, I'll do it once I see that there's an interest for these tracks :)
great quality. cheers to elliott!
@roblogosz1 Search for it on youtube, there's a studio version as well. Mark Kozelek is the only guy I know who makes covers like these, I think it's amazing
what version is this? Anyways thanks for sharing --much prefer this to the original; practically a diff song!!!
@pressureofdays Tack du! Jag har knappt tittat på klippet sen jag la upp det, är rädd att jag skulle vara för kritisk mot mig själv
Det där lät riktigt fint!
like you are driving through the old neighborhood on an overcast day. this song always gets to me.
@downwithcheesecake indeed...
a very very very necessary man in music...
@aphonik23 Just purchased Little Drummer Boy, The Finally LP and Lost Verses. Cheers!!
T T !!!!!!!
@natetheboywhocant This song is from Lost Verses Live, a live album that was released last year. It is one of many officially released live albums in Mark Kozelek's catalog (White Christmas Live, Little Drummer Boy, Find Me Ruben Olivares, etc.). Check out Mark's record label, Caldo Verde Records (can't post the web link because TH-cam is stupid), and please consider purchasing one of the CDs. Mark deserves our support so that he can keep putting out brilliant songs like this one.
@jorgekluney Oh believe me I have. Amazing as usual.
@jorgekluney I completely agree. He is one of my favorite musicians and i own almost none of his music. I spend my time on here, youtubing his live stuff as it seems many of us do. Perhaps a live album is upon us. Wouldnt that be fantastic. Maybe one day. Cheers.
oldness comes to rile the youth who dream suicide its amazing when you find 1 line that so means so much
Such depth and beauty. Mark's music has helped me through some dark times by it's sheer authenticity. I think I've listened to this a 100x so far.
Great song, enveloping arpeggios, beautyful voice ... For me, an inspiration and harmonies a bit in a Jeff Buckley's style. This music inspired me a poem that I posted on my blog myspace / jsebsteelguitar/blog ... if you have time, take a look.
Superbe chanson, arpèges enveloppants, voix presque psalmodiante... Une petit côté Jeff Buckley dans les accords et l'inspiration me semble t-il. Cette musique m'a inspiré un poème que j'ai posté sur mon blog myspace/jsebsteelguitar... si vous avez du temps, jetez y un coup d'œil.
Yeah sure that would be great! So you know Mark?
@americanFootball71 im in the process of movingh, ill look at some point. Also gotta call mark and ask if its cool to share, ya know?
