Sermon: God Out of the Cave
God Out of the Cave | Sermon by Rev. Doug Brandt
Mark 15:42-47
In this powerful sermon, God Out of the Cave, Reverend Doug Brandt reflects on the burial of Jesus as described in Mark 15:42-47. This often-overlooked passage reveals profound truths about God's sovereignty and the hope that emerges even in the darkest moments.
Through the story of Joseph of Arimathea’s courageous act and the tomb that temporarily held our Savior, we explore:
How God works through faithful individuals to fulfill His divine plan.
The significance of Jesus’ burial in preparing for the resurrection.
What this passage teaches us about faith, courage, and trusting God’s timing.
This message reminds us that even when it seems like all hope is lost, God is working behind the scenes, bringing life out of death and victory out of defeat.
Delivered at Peters Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church, this sermon invites you to reflect on your own faith journey and consider how God may be calling you to step out in faith.

Audrey was a beautiful and great friend. May she fly with the angels and watch over us all. Beautiful service
Hard message. It goes back even further: why did God let Cain murder Abel? God respect our choices, even those that hurt others, AND He has promised He can and will bring something good out of it. Faith in the midst of pain is precious and real, and God will not snuff out that flickering flame. He cherishes it. He KNOWS the pain of loss and betrayal. He is with us in the trial, in the fire, in the flood, in the storm.
Good message! Jesus said, The Father is working, I am working. We are to follow His example.
Great message. I needed this today. ❤
Thank you Pastor Doug Brandt.✝️🕊🙏🏼
Great sermon Pastor Brandt! (
So sorry for Stephen’s family. He was a good, good man. Great consolation to know that he is with the Lord, and that his family will one day see him again face to face
