RX1 Scout is Miele's first robotic vacuum cleaner. With Smart Navigation, the Scout achieves reliable cleaning results. The Scout's lithium-ion battery can clean up to two hours, or 1,600 square feet without needing to be recharged. A gyro sensor measures the Scout's rotation, enabling it to change direction as needed and a high-quality digital ceiling camera maps the layout of a room to ensure precise cleaning of the entire space. Miele's RX1 Scout features a Triple Cleaning System comprised of a turbo brush, two long rotating side brushes that target hard-to-reach areas and an effective suction system. Sensors on the front of the machine prevent the Scout from colliding with furniture and sensors underneath the Scout prevent it from falling down stairs. Miele's RX1 Scout also features four cleaning modes and a convenient remote control.
Smart Navigation
Rather than a chaotic navigation system that can miss cleaning areas of your floors or repeat areas that have already been cleaned, the Scout uses Smart Navigation so it is able to detect its current position within its environment. This allows for systematic cleaning in a path -- from one end of a room to the other -- while cleaning all the corners. Smart Navigation uses a Gyro sensor to measure the Scout's movement and ensures maximum cleaning of all areas without missing a spot.
Ceiling Camera
Miele's RX1 Scout features a unique ceiling camera that it uses to map the layout of its environment. As a result, it can easily determine the areas that it has already cleaned and those that still need to be cleaned.
Furniture Protection System
The Scout features 7 anti-collision sensors to help limit touches to your furniture. For additional protection, there is a non-marring rubber bumper, ensuring no damage or scuffs occur.
Triple Cleaning System
The Scout is equipped with two front brushes made from extra-long fiber material that rotate to collect dirt and debris from floors. An effective turbo brush and high-efficiency suction system collect dirt into a 22 oz. dustbin.

A bit misleading when referencing the "park feature" as this feature only works with certain floor heads. It does not work with the electric power heads. Fantastic video otherwise.

It's the Mercedes of vacuums🌼 Miele is used in a lot of homes in Germany. It's a staple product like Kenmore/Whirlpool once was in the US. Miele, the vacuum, is super quiet, durable, and easy to use.

I’m a vac head. Meaning all my life I’ve loved vacuuming, and all my adult life I’ve been on the hunt for the best vacuum I could find, with each purchase thinking THIS time I’d found “the one”. I’ve owned them all over the years. And I mean ALL. From Electrolux to Rainbow (the worst vac ever, such a waste of a lot of money, water filtration is HORRIBLE and so difficult to dispose of and it stinks), Shark to Kenmore, Bissell to Dyson and everything in between. And without a doubt, hands down, Miele is the BEST vacuum I’ve ever used. Yes it’s pricier, but it’s so worth it as a well maintained and cared for Miele will have you set for 15-20 yrs., so it pays for itself in the long run and is a worthwhile investment. It’s extremely well made, has numerous settings for every floor type, comes with plentiful tools, very powerful motor that picks up everything with minimal effort, yet has gentle settings and tools that handle my antique handmade area rugs and antique silk upholstered Duncan Phyfe in the formal sitting room gently but thoroughly; and doesn’t strip the threads from the antique rugs (thanks Dyson 😡) while still managing to miss debris and pet hair from my four cats (thanks Shark 😤). I prefer the bag canister as it catches and holds allergens and pet dander securely, and rolls with ease. I will never again own another brand of vacuum, because after years of searching, I finally found “the one” ❤️

Ugh the entire climate change scheme with Meile is hardcore here. “We could shut down 4 energy centers if every vac was required to have auto on every device. First off, this is electricity, that isn’t like burning fuel and pollution. Lol The stupid ass EU is such a disgrace

If only Miele made attachments that were bigger. The tiny dusting brush, crevice tool and upholstery tool are just too little.
They make a larger crevice tool ( sold separately)
@@spaghetti9067 There are many more attachments ( at a price ).I have the turbo rug brush. Unless you have wall to wall carpets, you do not need the electric power nozzle- although I have the C-3 Brilliant and "Cat -Dog", which are electrified, but you need to purchase the hose, wand and specific nozzle separately. There is a more robust dusting brush, upholstery tool, but I use the mini turbo brush on upholstered furniture ( I have a cat ).
Why would anyone want to close 4 power plants??? That's just plain stupid.

Works great on lamanent floors as well as carpets in motor vehicles. You have to get a special attachment if you want to use it on thick carpet. I mainly use it for the furniture in my house as well as my car*

Hello. How do I buy that extension hose? I live in Maine. I already own a Miele vacuum, but was looking for a longer extension so I don't have to hold the vacuum and wand in both hands when on a step stool or a ladder. Thank you

Hello, from what I hear, you can still add the electrical hose and others on the Alize, is this correct? Also, how much more expensive would that be if i decided on upgrading to fully powered down the road, would it cost more or would it be about the same if I just started with powered from the beginning? Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment! Yes. When Miele first changed the S8 series name to C3, they removed the electrical outlet that supports adding an electrical hose. There must have been a lot of complaints since they have now restored the outlet to the current production. There is a lot you will need to know about this upgrade because it's more expensive than most people think it will be. You were so impressive!!!! I have a Miele (wanted one for years and in 2011 bought one off of ebay, open box, but brand new) and LOVE THE MACHINE!!!! Best machine by far!!! I dont even let the cleaning lady near it, I hide it when she comes. She gets to use my Bosch which is in perfect shape anyways, but you know how they love to bang vacuums into everything!!!!
Im currently down to picking top 3 vacuum cleaners. The Alize, The Brilliant and the Sauber Excellence. My new house will have mostly bamboo/wooden floors but also some rugs here and there can you suggest one and why? The prices are bit expensive so i want to make sure i get one that lasts and gets the job does. Thanks

How do these compare with the c3 brilliant and the sauber intelligence and the s8. These cost a lot of money i want to make sure i get one that lasts a long time and does an excellent job.
It seems there is a mistake with the title of this review as the title talks about the C3 models yet you are showing and speaking about the S serie. Were you able to make a review of the C3 serie?
+RikiSmiley The C3 series had been called S8 until it was changed to C3 in February 2015 without fundamentally changing the models within the series. It is extremely unusual for this to happen, and in 22 years of selling Miele it is a first.

Also, have there been any newer ones for this situation that you would recommend? For now, the Marin seems to be the most interesting, one as you explained. The unique just seems more luxurious. Oh, yes, one more question. I think I am not hearing well... but the names sound different to me. Which one is the Brilliant? Is it the Unique? We also don't have carpets in our house due to the allergy, yet we have a couple of small rugs at our entrance doors and the bathroom. Would it be better to have the Marin or the Alize? +RikiSmiley Any C3 with a HEPA filter offers the same level of filtration, and yes it is still the current series. When the series designation was changed from S8 to C3, the name of the Uniq was changed to Brilliant. There are some things you should know about that model before purchasing it, especially when it comes to using our exclusive Expanding Wonder Hose. Miele allows only certain models to be shown online but we carry ALL the models and there are several good choices for you. +HomeluxVacuum I live in Europe :-( We went for a Brilliant here in Europe, but it has 800 Watts instead of the 1200 Watts in the USA. I wonder why the difference with both countries.
Most of Europe uses a 220-240 volt system. So, even with lower wattage consumption, performance would be at least equal to our 110 volt system at 1200 watts. So glad the video was helpful to you. Hope you enjoy many years of great service from your new Miele vacuum! -- Brett

Brett, why would you intentionally choose NOT to ship outside of the USA? I was thinking of buying a Miele, but the deal breaker for me is the short, stiff electric hose on the powerhead models, as well as the dollhouse-sized on board tools. I was thinking I could just buy your expanding hose & some aftermarket tools, like the Rainbow dusting brush that's sold online with a Miele adapter, but now reading this comment I have no choice but to NOT buy a Miele now & buy one of your competitors. I did buy a Simplicity Gusto, but have some reservations about the quality of the HEPA exhaust filter, & the bags themselves, & a couple other things that are nit-picky. I live in Ontario, Canada, so I couldn't have bought the Miele from you with the hose as a optional extra, as that would mean I would forego my warranty, something foolish for a appliance with so much electronic circuitry that could fail. Look forward to your reply.
