Too bad that the airport has dangerous winds for airplanes to land. Tourism is affected. Too bad for this great island .

Wow that cliff is very close. You absolutely don't want to overshoot the runways even a little.
Cliffs surround the vast majority of the island. If you overshoot you will land in deep water and sink as the ocean floor descends quickly. Limited aircraft can use this airport because of the distance required to the nearest mainland hub (Cape Town or Windhoek) and short runway.
6 hour flight back to Jo'burg?
Don't do a runway overrun there 😅
Nice video, nice to see it from the back as i spent my takeoffs during covid era flying the 757 out of st Helena.
Mo wide bodies can land there .
