Thanks so much!! Have a big hiking trip planned for March!! Will announce when it gets closer.
We enjoyed the video and are looking forward to your upcoming adventures!
Damn girl. Wow
The mileage is variable because there are a couple old trails that cause the deviation from the "official" miles. Great video thank you!!
I was so confused at first. I've hiked ERL many times and I had never heard of Little Moth, LOL. Then I saw the sign. Upper Little Missouri Trail Head. Hence forth shall be known as Little Moth :) Thanks for the video. You were lucky the trash cans were still out at Albert Pike. I was there a few weeks later and they were removed and the restrooms locked for the season.
It was a great hike and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Sorry for any confusion😅.
Nice work on the video Katie! BIG thanks for cleaning up this awesome place too 😊 As I had mentioned in a previous comment, I was there on 10/8 and I was impressed at how clean I found it. Now I have a good idea why it was much cleaner than I was really expecting, since you and Maverick were there end of September. Let's hope others will follow your lead and keep it litter free.......we can always hope. Happy Trails ---- John
Thanks for watching! So glad to hear you got to hike this great little trail!
Love it, thanks for the videos.
Happy Trails!!
Love your Quachita video series. You are an inspiration. Im 50 and getting back into hiking. I live in Polk county AR right near the Quachita so this will be my first thru hike. Happy trails. Ps. I would love to see a gear list video. Thanks again.
So glad they were helpful. I have a gear video that was done Feb. 2022 for the Appalachian Trail. Guess it is time to update that video.😊 Thanks for watching!
Well, you definitely are an inspiration (quote from your video: "Courage and Comfort don't exist in the same space"). After watching your video a couple times, I got to thinking about possibly attempting the same/similar. So, on 10/8/24 I set out at dawn at the NW trailhead where the ABF and the LM trails intersect and proceeded in a counter-clockwise direction -- knocking out those 6 climbs in the first 8-9 miles. I packed full gear and food for a two day overnighter that was sort of my real plan, but at dusk I was back at the truck. I didn't have the 97° F summertime temps that you did, so I had a great advantage in that respect. I will say that I dang sure knew I had hammered out some miles at the end of that day (knees and legs - wowza), and I want to extend my gratitude to you for being the catalyst for me to keep going that afternoon and evening! Whew! I thought about pitching camp probably a half dozen times heading back north along the Little Missouri, but I kept thinking "well, Katie didn't stop"....... I'm heading back down there soon to do an enjoyable and more "sane" repeat, mostly to just soak in the scenery and enjoy it all. Thank you Katie!! 😉
I am so glad you stuck to it! It is a beautiful trail. I went down about a month ago and did it as a 2 dayer and enjoyed the river!!! Hike on my friend!!
I saw how many subs you had and just had to help you get a little closer to that 1000 mark! Looking forward to watching more of your content!
Thanks for the sub!
I am planning a thru-hike next year and I love the idea of leaving the car at the Bluebell and then cache food and drive to Little Rock for another shuttle back to trail. That sounds genius. I know some folks do an ABNB along the way or stay in a small town motel near trail, but those options didn't appeal to me.
It worked out really well for me!
Great video! Congratulations! I’ve been thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro in February with Peak Planet. 😊
You should!
The triple crown consists of…Ozark Highlands, Ouachita Trail and Ozark Trail.😊
Eagle Rock Loop and the Ozark Trail. What is the third trail that makes the 'triple crown'?
The triple crown of the Ozarks are Ozark Trail, Ozark Highland Trail and Ouachita Trail.
Kazanzuri guys! We summitted 10 days after you all and share the excitement, experience and achievement in this amazing Kili journey 😊
Congrats!
Great video!! We'll be climbing with Peak Planet soon and it was fun to see your crew...maybe we'll see some of them on ours. Appreciate your tips and insight into how each day went! Did you bring any of your own snacks for during the daily climbs, if so, roughly how many?
I did bring snacks! I ate about 3 a day plus a few energy gels for summit day. Of course, I brought my standard bag of chili cheese fritos😅.
What were Maverick’s thoughts on the climb? Was it everything he hoped it would be?
I think it was everything and more than we both could have possibly hoped it would be! He was the celebrity of our team! With his outgoing personality, he made friends with everyone so quickly!😊
Incredible!!!
Hey Miss Katie! What a beautiful hike!! Thanks for sharing this awesome adventure! Take care and god bless
Thank you! You too!
Hi Miss Katie! Awesome safari. Take care and god bless
What an adventure! Absolutely loved watching from beginning to end! Proud for and of you both! I have been waiting to see this grand adventure Ron has been talking about and preparing for months. Blessings!🙏🏼💕
Thanks so much!!
Fun video! I’m planning a through hike this fall. Thanks for the content 👍
That’s awesome!! Enjoy!!
Hi Miss Katie! Looking forward to this awesome adventure! Take care and god bless
Thank you! You too!
The trail looks lovely. Thanks for posting!
It was!
Another good video. Loved the OT videos. Glad you came back. Actually, you had a few more miles to go and finish where the Womble joins the OT up around mile 114.
Thanks! I did make it to where the Womble joined the OT. At least I thought I did. There was a sign there and All Trails showed it as the junction😅
Are you saying the Womble trail actually includes part of the OT. As I said in the video it was a bit confusing.😊
@@katiehikingsomewhereoutthere Hi Katie! I'm with you on the confusion of the Womble!! I hiked all but a small piece of it a few months back. I think that the trail on the north end just has options for several things, and keep in mind that it was constructed with a focus on mountain biking. If you look at the trail map(s) you can see several options depending on where you wish to end your hike (or bike). Thanks for the video! Happy trails :)
All I know is I loved the trail!😅
@@katiehikingsomewhereoutthere We enjoyed your videos, this one , the ERL in one day and the OT.
Hi Miss Katie! Great area trail. Thanks for sharing! Take care and god bless
Thanks for watching!
Good to see you posting again. JetGirl Hikes has started posting again recently and made me think we haven't seen any from you in a while. Great timing! Glad to hear your and your daughter's properties are ok. I live just south and we didn't get any damage. I've read confirmed 6 or 7 tornadoes, depending on the source. Truly horrible situation. Stay safe out there.
More to come!
My family are Crawford's from Crooked Creek / 6 point. Crawford county
I have the original version of the gatewood cape, was neat to see it. I'll be in those woods soon, great job on the pack weight btw! Thanks for the video!
Happy Trails!!
Taiwan looks absolutely spectacular my friend, outstanding video!
Thanks a lot!
Beautiful country and good looking family.
Yes, thank you
Hi Miss Katie! Beautiful place! Thanks for sharing! Take care and god bless
Thank you! You too!
I love your puffy jacket! What brand is it?
It’s the Mountain Hardwear Ghostwhisperer. W/hood. They make it w/o also. Very lightweight and very warm.
So glad you enjoyed the videos!!! Best of luck on your hike! It’s a great trail!
Congratulations. I watched all your videos on the OT as I am going to section hike it this year, 2024. Doing it opposite of how you did, starting at the Cortoise section first. Thanks for posting and the weights of your pack too.
You can do it!
Nice series of videos, TY for sharing! I’m looking forward to doing the OT a few weeks from now.
Good luck!
On this last resupply, what road approx. MM? and how far from pinnacle Mtn. trailhead finish line?. Thank you 🙏
Sorry. Just saw this😅 Highway 10 Mile 202😊
👍👍
Nice video, happy to find this. I am planning to hike the OT starting the later part of Feb. / early Mar. What mo. Are you hiking? and despite the rain, has water availability been an issue for you along the length of the trail? Thanks in advance.
Glad you enjoyed it! I hiked mid February.
Plenty of water!
Loved your video! Can't believe you did it in one day!!! I've done ERL twice now (in winter because I can't do summer heat) and can't wait to go back and do it again.
Glad you enjoyed the video! It is a great trail!
I binged watched "Little Skittle" Northbound CDT hike the last 2 days and couldn't get enough of it. Now can't wait to watch your CDT NoBo adventures!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I live kind of in the middle of the OT. I'm looking to take up hiking/backpacking (after some 20 years of wanting to, but not having the opportunity), and the OT is definitely on my list! Thanks for this beautiful series!
Go for it!!! Thanks for watching!
Just fyi. The southern terminus is in the middle of nowhere where. Someone took me there and it was down an overgrown road. 😮
Wild! I know the general area, as I didn't grow up too far from there, but that's good information to have.
26 lbs is respectable! Here is a link to a video I did for the AT. I think it is time to update it tho. I have made a few changes. But nothing significant. th-cam.com/video/3EaMKCqbYz0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=13WgeG7w-rBrEkv6 Thanks for watching!
Have you done a pack shake down? I got hooked on your video’s when i was researching eagle rock loop. I did complete 3 weeks ago but we did it in 2 1/2 days 2 nights. It was my first backpacking trip. I would love to know your lightweight set up! I was proud of my 26 pounds!😅
So sorry! I just saw this! I did a pack shake down video February. 2022. A little has changed. But not much. However, sounds like it is time for a new one. I have a big trip planned in June! I’ll do one sometime this month in preparation for that trip😊
Good choice! Beautiful
I ❤THE OZARKS!!!
Wow, that's a lot in one day in that heat. You're in really good shape! My two sons and I are going to hike this trail this winter. Thanks for the video.
Hope you made it out! This is a trail I want to do again!
Oh, my...Ozark Triple Crown plus more in a calendar year! 🎉🎉
Right?! It was great!!
Congrats, Katie. A Triple O Completer.
