The first time I went in 1980, the group was more a hard-core group of bikers. I rode an old 2 stroke, 3 cylinder Suzuki GT that had seen better days with a sleeping bag and a tarp rolled up on the back. If you came there looking for trouble, it was easy to find. The closest I came was as i just got to town early evening looking for a beer when some guy started saying crap about my bike. Some monster big dude asked how far I had ridden to get there? I told him 800 miles, and he told the other one to shut up. Closest I came to anything, but that's not what I look for. My wife and I went 36 years later and left after 3 days. It has become quite the fashion show. Don't get me wrong, we met many that were still there for the ride. It seemingly appears to be more of a carnivel atmosphere with designer leather than I have time for anymore. Pleanty of non rally time to ride the area, so each to their own.

Sturgis is great and everyone is very friendly. Absolutely amazing time year after year.

I just don't see the point of doing Sturgis by hauling your bikes in a motorhome or trailer, and then riding around there, like you made the journey !! To me.... It's the journey not the destination that matters.

Managing a marriage is not as complicated as some people make it. The number one thing to consider is that every decision you make alone will have a direct effect on the other. I did 6.5 Thrashin on my LRST but will go taller later on. I need just a tiny bit more and it’ll be perfect. I absolutely love the ST though.

Put 12” tc. Bros pull backs and 4.5 speed kings bars on my road king on Friday night (I’m 6’6)…did a quick 150 mile test ride Sunday. I’m sold so far. I’ll get over the look lol

Yes I did. I went with 6” longer cables. They are slightly long. 4” would be perfect.

Did you have to buy new cables for the riser set up and also what inch ?

That’s what I want to do to my street glide special. Even if it covers my infotainment system. I know it’s gonna be super comfortable.
