I often visit a park that has birds that have been hand-fed for years. Since the birds are quite friendly, all I need to do is show up with some peanuts and sunflower seeds.
Often smaller birds move too quickly for the human eye to catch the details of their movements. I use my iPhone 11 to record their flight and their antics while they select their snacks of choice. These birds are small but have big personalities!

Black-capped Chickadees visit the Hand of Snacks. The first Chickadee fluffs up and extends his wings to look bigger; this is intimidating to other Chickadees and warns them away.

Virginia Rail in Marsh

A Virginia Rail, a secretive bird of the marsh, walks out into the open to poke around with his/her long beak and do a bit of preening. Those long toes help the bird walk on floating mats of vegetation. Video is in slow motion at 50% of real time.

I love red woodpeckers and that is just so special to me that I’m seeing it actually eating from my hand, but can you please tell me do they eat from like little like houses because I have this little house right here and I decorated enough and I put some sunflower seeds in and it’s roasted seeds
