Chamberlain 4080 with New Holland 317 Hayliner and Springfield 10 bale accumulator baling lucerne hay at Ascot in Dec 2016. In good going with consistent windrows the 317 will do about 400 bales per hour. The Springfield 10 bale accumulator can handle this rate well with ground driven bale in-feed and unloading. The 4080 hydraulic system supplies the accumulator for bale turn and push movements...

Case MX110 with Challenge 4121 loader and 15 bale grab. This 15 bale grab was built to stack in a shed with 20' bays and works well unloading the 20' tray trucks shown. Being a 15 bale grab (10' wide) it provides clearance either side of the tractor.

I think i like this design the best of them all. The 10 bales would work best for us. Seems to be simpler than most.

I don't know about anyone else but I counted 12 bales, not 10. I could be wrong but 2 rows of 5 plus the two sideways...
Howdy GR. Whilst 12 bales will fit on the deck, only ten are pushed off as a group. Take another look.
If you look at 2 min 35 sec you'll see 4 bales as the pusher bar comes around.

My dad built a 10 bale accumulator 65 years ago. Made it out of sucker rods and angle iron with a trip wire back to the driver. Cost was zero as we had all the parts.

Yeah, I've seen those bale throwers with the trailers and always wondered how they get unloaded and the bales stacked. We don't use anything like that here in Aus.

The purpose of that row is to help bind the bales when stacked on a truck or in a shed. The addition of those two bales also makes the pack eight feet wide which matches the width of trucks.

Hi Cecile, This was an old machine that I found broken down and missing a number of parts. Since I refurbished it I have used it for the past two seasons. I was never able to find any information about is original manufacturer so had to figure some parts out and rebuild them. When I have it out again in the next month or so for an end of season clean down I'll take some photos for you.
