This is old news. I played this when I was a kid. I also knew this and the level skips were easy.

Every world has a level like that to get a white mushrooms house. Every other house has a Magic P and an Anchor.

10x easier done withiut the racoon suit. Often, you will mistime your jumps when knocking those coins out of the block, so you get less jumps. Easier to fail that way. I always do it either as big, or fire mario.

You don't have to grab every coin. There are set amounts for each world. 1-4 is 44 coins, for example.

what does the anchor do?

Don't have to grab all the coins. I seen a video where one coin was left and the coin ship still appears.

In world 1-2 there is a pipe that constantly spits out goombas. If you have to racoon suit (the one with the tail), you can kill the goombas by landing on them. If you can do this enough times without touching the ground between each kill, eventually every time you crush a goomba you will get a 1 up. You can easily rack up 20-30 lives in one round.
